November 30, 2018
Dear St. John Families,
Thank you to Mrs. Turnbull, Ms. Kruk, Ms. Hartsoe,
Mrs. Phillips, Mrs. Robertson, and all the many
volunteers who made the Mistletoe Market a success.
It was a great way to kick off the holiday season.
Due to a schedule change, progress reports will be
distributed on Tuesday, December 11. Conferences
will be held on Thursday, December 13 from 4:30 pm
to 7:30 pm. The sign-up links can be found below.
St. John Parish will be hosting a Christmas
Extravaganza on December 8 starting with a
Children’s Liturgy at 5:00 pm. See the attached flyer
for the many activities that are included. All are
welcome to attend.
Information about our Christmas program on
Thursday, December 20 is included in the update.
Once again we plan to live stream our dress rehearsal
for family and friends unable to attend.
Sunday marks the first week of Advent. As we light
the Candle of Hope, let us remember that our hope
comes from God who is always faithful and keeps His
promises to us.
Finally, a special thank you to the Borzymowski
family for once again providing and spreading new
mulch in the preschool playground. Your kindness is
much appreciated.
Many blessings,
Mrs. Blake

What’s Purple Friday?
On designated Fridays or Thursdays students may
wear Ravens jerseys, shirts, or colors with their gym
shorts or gym pants and tennis shoes for a donation
of 50 cents. The SJE Student Council will choose a
charity that will receive the proceeds. Students also
may wear purple and /or black socks, ribbons,
bows, and jewelry. The dates are marked on the
website calendar and highlighted in the weekly
update. Our next Purple Day will be on Friday,
December 14.
What’s Spirit Day?
Once a month on the Tuesday that we have our
pizza lunch in the Church Hall, we also have a
special spirit day. Our student council chooses a
theme, and students can wear t-shirts, socks, and
hair accessories reflective of that theme with their
gym pants and tennis shoes. Our next SJE Spirit
Day is Tuesday, December 18, and no donation is
required.
