Materials and Ingredients Needed for Decorating the Cupcakes:CupcakesIcingHershey’s DropsTake 5 Candy BarOreo Fudge CremesBlack Jelly Beans (Large)White Jelly Beans (Large)Betty Crocker Decorating Cupcake Icing ( Cloud White)

ToothpicksPaper PlatePlastic KnifeSharp Knife

1. Make small and large chocolate cupcakes according to a recipe of your choice.

2. Make chocolate icing according to a recipe of your choice.

3. Remove a cupcake from a large baking cup and place on a paper plate. *To do this you will need to lightly squeeze the rubber baking cup all around to make sure that the cupcake releases. Once you are sure the cupcake will come out without sticking to the rubber cup, remove it carefully.

4. Remove a small cupcake from a paper baking cup. *Peel slowly to prevent the cupcake from sticking and make sure no paper is left behind.

5. Place the small cupcake on the top of the large cupcake (to create the body) and hold in place until completion of step 6. See Figure 1, below for more instruction on proper placement.

The small cupcake should lie on its side and be placed towards the back of the large cupcake.

6. Use four toothpicks to secure one small cupcake on top of one large cupcake. See Figure 2 and Figure 3, below for more instruction.

7. Ice every showing surface of the large cupcake.

8. Ice the top of the small cupcake. See Figure 4, below for help identifying the top of the small cupcake.

9. Place two Hershey’s Drops on the top edge of the small cupcake with a little less then two finger widths between them. See Figure 5 for more instruction in the proper placement of your Hershey’s Drops. *The icing should secure these, but if not press lightly and hold for a few seconds until secure. These will serve as the ears for your bear.

10. Lay a white jelly bean flat on a paper plate so that you can cut it. Hold the jelly bean secure between the thumb

11. Repeat step 10 to create your second eye.

12. Place the cut pieces of white jelly bean on the top of the small cupcake. See Figure 4 (on page 4) for help identifying the top of the small cupcake and Figure 5 (on page 4) for more information on proper placement.

13. Repeat step 10 with a black jelly bean. *This will serve as the nose for your bear.

14. Place the cut piece of black jelly bean centered on the top of the small cupcake, below the previously placed

and forefinger of your non-dominant hand and use your dominant hand to slowly cut off one end of the jelly bean. See Figure 6 for more instruction.

The cut off end should be about a centimeter in length from the tip to the cutoff end. This will serve as one of the eyes for your bear.

15. Cut an Oreo Fudge Creme cookie in half.

17. Repeat step 16 with the other half of the Oreo Fudge Creme cookie, placing it on the opposite side of the large

16. Place one half of the Oreo Fudge Creme cookie on the top of the large cupcake, with the edges of the cookie hanging off slightly. The cookie should be placed on an edge perpendicular to the placement of the small cup-cake. See Figure 7 for proper placement of the Oreo Fudge Creme cookie pieces.

cupcake. *These will serve as the arms for your bear.

18. Cut a Take 5 piece into two pieces, one should be about 3/4ths of the whole and the other should be 1/4th of the whole. See Figure 8 for more instruction. *These will serve as the feet for your bear.

19. Repeat step 18 with a second Take 5 piece.

20. Place a Take 5 piece at the base of the large cupcake, directly beneath an Oreo fudge Creme cookie. Lightly press and hold for a few seconds to secure the Take 5 to the large cupcake, using the icing. See Figure 9 for more instruction.

21. Repeat step 20 with your second Take 5 piece, on the opposite side. 22. Use the Betty Crocker Decorating Cupcake Icing ( Cloud White) to draw three small lines on the top edge of one of the Oreo Fudge Creme cookies. *These will serve as the claws for your bear’s paw/arm.

23. Repeat step 22 on the opposite Oreo Fudge Creme cookie.

*These will serve as the mouth for your bear.

If you wish to create more Baylor Bear Cupcakes begin the process again

from the start of the “Instructions for Assembly and Decorating.”

26. Use the Betty Crocker Decorating Cupcake Icing ( Cloud White) to draw a short line (a little less than a centimeter) straight down from the black jelly bean nose. Draw two more lines perpendicular out of the bottom of the previous line. Curve these two lines a bit to create a smile. See Figure 12 for more instruction on

proper placement of icing.

24. Use the Betty Crocker Decorating Cupcake Icing ( Cloud White) to draw three small lines on the top edge of one of the Take 5 pieces. See Figure 11 for more instruction on proper placement of icing. *These will serve as the claws for your bear’s feet.

25. Repeat step 24 on the opposite Take 5 piece.
