Instructions for Importing the Color Books

[3DS Max, AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, Photosho]

3DS MAX Installation Process

To download the 3DS MAX material library file in your computer you will have to follow the instructions,

which are as follows:

STEP 1: Open the internet Browser and go to this link

“http://www.asianpaints.com/colourconnect/colouritup/colour_spectra_pro.aspx”

Here you would see “DOWNLOAD DIGITAL COLOUR SPECTRA PRO FOR”, click on the “3D MAX” link to

start the download.

Step 2: Once you download the 3D MAX Zip file, extract it on the Desktop. The extracted files are:

Asian Paints (R) Bright.mat Asian Paints (R) Melange.mat Asian Paints (R) White.mat

Step 3: Now copy all the three files from the extracted folder and paste it in the ‘Material Libraries’

folder as shown:

In the box blue highlighted portion is the path where you have to paste the Colour Books

• These three highlighted files in the box are the ASIAN PAINTS colour Books.

How to use?

STEP 1: Open the software 3DS MAX. Click on the “LOGO” button to “OPEN” a new file.

• Click on “New All” to open a new scene file.

STEP 2: To draw objects, select tools which are highlighted in green colour below in the picture:

STEP 3: Click on the box below given in the picture to open a Material Editor Slot.

• Click on the Material Ball which is highlighted in

the picture.

• Next you have to click on the small icon which is

just below to the material editor slots. This icon is

to get the materials from the material library.

STEP 4: Once you click on the small icon in material editor you will see a new window coming up which

is called “Material Map Browser” as shown in the picture below:

• Now in material map window click on the “Mtl Library” slot which is highlighted in the above

picture.

• Now click on the open button to get the material library.

STEP 5: Now after clicking open button you will see a new window called “Open Material Library”

• Put this path” C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3DS MAX 2010\materiallibraries” as file name and

click on open to get the location of the pasted Asian Paints Materials.

STEP 6: Select any of the Asian Colour Material and you will see all the colours in the Material Map

Browser as mentioned in the picture given below:

• There is a list of colours to choose and apply it on the selected object.

STEP 7: Now if you want to see your choice of colour on the wall so, just drag and drop the

selected colour on the desired wall.

• As you can see in the above picture the colour applied on the wall is same as the one selected in

the “Material Map Browser Ball”.

AUTOCAD Installation Process

To download the file in your computer you will have to follow the instructions, which are as follows:

STEP 1: Open your internet browser and go to this link

Here you would see “DOWNLOAD DIGITAL COLOUR SPECTRA PRO FOR”, click on “AUTOCAD” to start the

download.

Step 2: Once you download the “AUTOCAD Zip” file, extract it on the Desktop. You will have three file

which are:

ASIAN PAINTS(R) Whites.acb ASIAN PAINTS(R) Brights.acb ASIAN PAINTS(R) Melange.acb

Step 3: Now copy all the three files from the extracted folder and paste it in the ‘Color’ folder inside

‘Support’ folder:

The green highlighted portion indicates the path where you need to paste the colour books.

• These three highlighted files in the box are the ASIAN PAINTS Colour Books.

How To Use?

STEP 1: Open the software AUTOCAD. Click on the LOGO “A” button to OPEN a new file.

STEP 2: To make objects, select tools which are highlighted in green colour below in the picture:

STEP 3: Click on the box below given in the picture to open a colour palette.

• Click on the logo “A” then go to

“FORMAT” and then go to “COLOR”.

• Once you click on the colour option as

instructed above in the picture you will

see a new window open up called “Select

Color”.

• Now in “Select Color” window, go to

colour book and select the “ASIAN

PAINTS” books.

STEP 4: Next step is to get the material slot to fill the desired colour on the wall.

• Click in the command area right below in the screen as instructed in the above picture

• Now write “MATERIALS” in the command box area

• As you give the command you will see a new window in the screen as above in the picture called

“Available Materials in Drawing”.

STEP 5: Once you open the Material slot you will have to select colour.

• Click on the “Material Ball”

• Then select on the small colour box which is in front of

the “DIFFUSE” as mentioned in the above picture.

• After clicking on the small box, a window will appear

which you have worked on earlier to select the “ASIAN

PAINTS COLOR BOOK”.

STEP 6: Now just select the colour of your choice from the “colour books” and apply it to the wall.

• To apply the colour on the wall all you need to do is to just click on the material ball and drag it

on the required wall.

• As you can see in the above picture the same colour is applied to the wall which is selected in

the material ball as well as in the small diffuse box.

GOOGLE SKETCHUP DIGITAL COLOUR BOOK INSTALLATION PROCESS

To download the “GOOGLE SKETCHUP” Material Library file in your computer, follow the instructions:

STEP 1: Open the internet Browser and go to this link

“http://www.asianpaints.com/colourconnect/colouritup/colour_spectra_pro.aspx”

Here you would see “DOWNLOAD DIGITAL COLOUR SPECTRA PRO FOR”, click on the “GOOGLE

SKETCHUP” link to start the download.

Step 2: Once you download the GOOGLE SKETCHUP Zip file, extract it on the Desktop. You will have

three files which are:

Asian Paints – Bright Asian Paints – Melange Asian Paints - White

Step 3: Now copy all the three files from the extracted folder and paste it to the Materials folder in

Google SketchUp:

• These three highlighted files in the box are the ASIAN PAINTS colour Books.

• And above in the box green highlighted portion is the path where you have to paste the Colour

Books.

STEP 1: Open the software GOOGLE SKETCHUP. Click on the “FILE” button to open a new file.

STEP 2: To draw objects, select “DRAW” tools which are highlighted below in the picture:

• Go to draw mode and select the option called rectangle to make wall.

• Now use “PUSH AND PULL” option to give height to the wall.

STEP 3: Click on the box below given in the picture to open a Material Editor Slot.

• Click on the Material slot which is

highlighted in the picture.

• Next you have to click any of the

material slot to get the COLOR

BOOK.

STEP 4: Once you click on the small icon in material editor you will see a new window coming up which

is called “Materials’ as shown in the picture below:

• Once you select any of the ASIAN PAINTS COLOR BOOK, you will see list of colours in the

material box as shown in the picture

• Now just select any colour and drag it on the wall. You will have your selected colour on the

wall.

Photoshop Plugin Installation Process

To download the file in your computer you will have to follow the instructions, which are as follows:

STEP 1: Open the internet Browser and go to this link

Here you would see “DOWNLOAD DIGITAL COLOUR SPECTRA PRO FOR” , click on the “PHOTOSHOP” to

start the download.

Step 2: Once you download the Photoshop Zip file extract it on the Desktop. You will have three file

which are:

asian paints (r) bright.acb asian paints (r) melange.acb asian paints (r) white.acb

Step 3: Now copy all the three files from the extracted folder and paste it to the following location-

“C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Color Books”

• These three highlighted files in the box are the ASIAN PAINTS colour Books.

• And above in the box blue highlighted portion is the path where you have to paste the Colour

Books

STEP 1: Open Photoshop, click on the “FILE” button to “OPEN” a new file.

• Click on the OK button to see the clipboard preset on the screen.

STEP 2: Now for selecting the colour you will have to click on the colour tool box, which is on left side

corner.

STEP 3: Once you click on the colour tool box you will see this colour picker box as shown in the figure

below. Click on the colour library box to open the ASIAN BOOKS colour library.

STEP 4: Click on the “BOOK” option to select the “ASIAN COLOR BOOK” from the library as shown in the

pictures

• Above in the picture as you can see the whole colour palette is given to choose the colour of

your choice

STEP 5: Now once you select the colour and if you want to fill the same colour in Text below.

• Select the paint Bucket Tool and drag it on the selection box.
