IMPROPER USE Careful observation of the instructions for our units is an important prerequisite for safe operation. We therefore assume no responsibility for IMPROPER or INCORRECT use of our units. Below, as a warning, are a number of examples of improper and/or risky behaviour. Misuse of our machines means: use for which they were not designed.

Inappropriate use includes.:

- USE IN ROOMS WHERE THERE IS A RISK OF EXPLOSION OR FIRE (e.g. in paint store, near to petrol pumps or material such as wood, straw, etc.) - USE IN AN ENCLOSED, INADEQUATELY VENTILATED SPACE - USE IN AN ENCLOSED SPACE WITHOUT AN EXTRACTOR SYSTEM - USE IN THE RAIN OR A STORM - USE FOR CLEANING ANIMALS - USE BY PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 - SPRAY-WASHING AN OBJECT WHICH IS UNDER VOLTAGE AND ELECTRICALLY

POWERED - SPRAY-WASHING (CAR) TYRES AT A DISTANCE OF <30 CM (tyres can be damaged and exploded by a high-pressure water jet). - USE NEAR TO OTHER PERSONS, WHO COULD BE HIT BY DIRT OR PARTS OF THE

OBJECT TO BE CLEANED

INCORRECT USE Incorrect use of our machines means use that does not comply with our instructions on use and maintenance. If these instructions are not observed, there is a risk of injury to the operator and damage to the machine. Below are some examples of incorrect use: - INCORRECT CONNECTION/USE OF THE STANDARD ACCESSORIES - FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE SEQUENCE OF THE COMMISSIONING STEPS - USE OF NON-ORIGINAL PARTS - USE OF TYPES OF FUEL OTHER THAN GAS OIL (DIESEL) - USE OF THE MACHINE WITH AN EMPTY GAS OIL TANK - REPAIRS BY UNAUTHORISED PERSONNEL - USE FOR WHICH THE MACHINE IS NOT INTENDED (see inappropriate use) - MAINTENANCE NOT CARRIED OUT IN GOOD TIME BY AUTHORISED PERSONNEL

COMMISSIONING Commissioning must be carried out in a suitable place in terms of cleaning and lighting. Reference numbers can be found on page 4 (content information) of these instructions. 1 - After removing the packaging, check the unit for damage. If in doubt, do not use the unit and

call the supplier's technical service. The packaging (cardboard, wood, etc.) should be put in special containers out of the reach of children. It is a potential risk.

2 - Stand the BioMant-Mini on a flat surface.

The work area must have the following: - A water connection with clean water (max.

10°dH water hardness) and adequate water pressure, minimum pressure 0.3 MPa

- A connection to the sewage water system for disposal of waste water

- An appliance to extract the exhaust gases. Gas escaping into enclosed spaces is dangerous. It is important to ventilate the room well

Commissioning the machine: 1 - After unscrewing the cover (fig. 5, page 4), fill the tank with diesel. Always use clean fuel.

Filter it if required. 2 - If necessary, connect the high-pressure gun and the lance to the high-pressure hose and

uncoil the hose completely. 3 - Connect the water hose to the machine's water connection (Gardena or GEKA coupling). The

hose must be completely clean inside. Use an upstream filter if required. 4- Check the pump oil level. It must always be above the mark on the level gauge. 5 - Set the on/off switch to “cold” or “hot” 6- Aim the lance at the surface to be treated and squeeze the handle on the gun.

Correct implementation of these steps is a fundamental prerequisite for the proper

functioning of the machine.

USE OF THE MACHINE

Before starting the machine: - Check the supply hose and the high-pressure hose to ensure that they are in OK condition. If

they are damaged, the machine must not be operated. Contact a BioMant dealer - Check the machine for any damage that is not immediately apparent. - Check whether there is fuel in the tank (avoid emptying the tank while the machine is in use to

prevent damage to the diesel pump)

SWITCH OFF: As soon as you have finished using the machine: A) Secure the gun. B) Set the machine to “cold” (fig. 3, page 4) C) Open the spray gun and allow the water to flow for 1 minute (until the temperature drops and

cold water comes out)

D) Turn the switch to “OFF” E) Shut off the tap. F) Open the spray gun for a few seconds to allow the water to drain out of the hoses. G) Store the machine in an enclosed room as soon as you have finished using it.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

High-pressure water jetting.

Always hold the gun with both hands. Never aim at people or animals.

CAUTION: Always hold the lance and the gun firmly with both hands.

When opening the gun, there is a slight kickback. Therefore ensure that it is held securely. When using the unit, avoid traversing unstable ground. All adjustments using buttons and switches on the machine must be carried out with the gun closed.

CAUTION: Ensure that the water is cold before switching off the machine.

- Ensure that the high-pressure hose is not obstructed/blocked, as this could cause a hose explosion and injure the operator.

- The protective housing/caps must not be removed during use

- The machine produces heat in its operating state. Do not touch the areas marked with warning

labels until they have cooled down. Do not touch the extractors until they have cooled down completely.

- Never move the machine by the power cable or connecting cables. - Do not use the machine on sloping surfaces. - Do not use the machine barefoot. - Always wear rubber boots and safety goggles/a face mask + splash suit when operating the

machine.

- Protective clothing should be worn for your own protection.

- In the event of extended periods of activity in the machine's proximity (or always at a distance of less than 7 metres), you must wear hearing protection (noise-reducing headset or another type of hearing protection).

- Never drink water that comes out of the machine. It is not suitable as drinking water.

- The machine must be used in rooms where and at times when there is sufficient light.

- Never leave the machine unattended during operation. During extended breaks, the machine must be switched off.

- When using the machine in hazardous environments (e.g. fuel pumps or high-voltage cables), you must observe the relevant safety regulations.

- You can opt to equip the machine with a “thermal bypass valve”. If the machine is idle for longer than 6 minutes, it cools down automatically thanks to the safety device to avoid damaging the seals. If your machine is not equipped with a “thermal bypass valve”, you need to switch it off manually if it is idle for longer than 4 to 5 minutes.

- While the machine is in use, it must never be covered or placed somewhere with inadequate ventilation.

- While the machine is in use, no repairs on it may be carried out. - Never aim the water jet at the machine or at another live component (cable, plug, etc.).

This can cause electrical damage and pose a risk to the operator.

- Avoid using the pump in the rain or in a storm or in situations where water or other liquids could come into contact with the pump.

- Never place heavy objects on the BioMant-Mini

- Do not leave the pump to run without water (dry), as this can result in considerable damage to the internal pump components.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE

1) Check the oil level of the high-pressure pump regularly. It must always be above the mark on

the level gauge. The first oil change must be carried out after 50 operating hours, and then after every 500 hours. Use the oil type recommended by your BioMant dealer.

2) The pump must not be exposed to extremely low temperatures. Avoid frost and do not use

the machine at temperatures below 0°C, as this may result in damage to or defects in the pump and lines. In the event of frost, add antifreeze. On the other side, high temperatures when operating the machine may cause the motor to overheat. THE WARRANTY DOES NOT EXTEND TO DAMAGE CAUSED BY FROST.

3) The machine has a magnetic descaler unit at the water connection. This must be replaced after every 500 operating hours. 4) From time to time, check the wear on the burner electrodes. The correct spacing between the electrodes is 3 mm. 5) Replace the high-pressure hose regularly. The new hose clearly shows the permissible total

pressure and the manufacturer name or brand. Before use, check whether the pressure values of the new hose correspond to those of the machine.

ONLY USE MANTIS HIGH-PRESSURE HOSES 6) The WEEDSOLUTION Mini does not have a water filter. Always use clean tap water or

properly filtered water. Always use Meclean filter systems for open or outside water.

7) A lance spray nozzle blocked by limescale, scaling, etc. can cause an excessive build-up of pump pressure and result in damage.

The nozzle of the high-pressure lance must be replaced regularly. 8) Check the diesel filter regularly and replace it in the event of contamination or damage

DISMANTLING THE MACHINE AND ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION It is necessary to observe locally applicable regulations for connection to the water supply. In accordance with legislation on environmental pollution, the unit must not be connected directly to the public drinking water system to prevent chemicals from getting into the drinking water.
