Cleaning of the UnitIf the front panel of this unit is dirty, clean it with a dry cloth or slightly soaked in water. If the front panel is too dirty, clean it with a cloth moistened with neutral soap and then repeat the prior operation.

1. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Before using this device, take some time to read through this Instruction Manual.

Knowledge of the operation procedures will help in getting the best performance out of your new Music System. Figures from the display and panel presented in this manual are examples provided for best explaining how the commands are used. Thus, display figures presented may be different from those actually presented on the device display. Illustrations, technical information, specifications and descriptions of this brochure were correct until the date of printing. We safeguard the right to make any required amendments according to the ongoing development and improvement.

To avoid risk of damage and/or fire, observe the following precautions :

· To avoid short-circuits, never insert metallic objects (for instance: coins or metallic tools) into the unit.

· If you notice that the unit is releasing smoke or strange smell, promptly disconnect the supply and consult the nearest Nippon Audiotronix or Mahindra service Center.

· Pay attention not to let the unit fall down, and neither beat the device strongly. Internal glass components of the unit may be damaged, making it non-operative.

· Do not place 8 cm (3 inches) compact discs into the CD opening. If you try to place into the device an 8cm CD with its adaptor, it may separate from the CD and damage the unit.

Important! Do not use any cleaning spray with this unit, as that can affect its mechanical parts. If you clean the front panel with a rough cloth or using a volatile liquid, like solvent or alcohol, that may scratch the surface or erase some characters.

3. CONTROLS

3.1. DisplayThe display will show all Radio CD/DVD,USB, IPOD, NAVIGATION & vehicle information such as tuner stations, track/folder etc. and fuel consumption / tyre pressure, Reverse Parking & Rear View etc.

Base screen will be as shown in the above picture. User can select from the options.

MEDIA: User can select this option for playing audio files from different sources CD, DVD, USB, iPOD, Bluetooth

Music, Auxiliary inputs and video files from available sources of CD, DVD, USB.

RADIO: User can select this option for playing from radio (AM/FM) stations.

PHONE: User can select this option to access Bluetooth phone operations.

CAR INFO: User can select this option to view vehicle related information's such as tyre pressure, Fuel consumption & etc.

NAV: User can select this option to enter NAVIGATION mode.

Refer relevant sections for more details.

3.2 Switch Bank

SETTINGS: .

Switch Bank Contains 9 buttons and 2 rotary knob. The switch bank will be illuminated if the head lamps are turned on. For button functions refer below table:-

3.3. Steering Wheel Control

The steering wheel contains 7 buttons dedicated for infotainment control. The push to talk button for voice recognition is available on the right side.

3.4. IR Remote Control

The Infrared based remote control shall have 21 buttons.

3.5. TOUCH PANEL CONTROL This system has a resistive type touch panel. User can select the desired option in the screen using his / her finger or stylus. Use of knife or any sharp item is not preferred. On selection the selected item color shall change as an acknowledgement.

4. DVD/CD Handling

4.1 DVD/CD Opening CleaningAs dust tends to accumulate at the CD opening, clean it up periodically. Remember that your compact disks (CD) may be scratched if inserted into the CD opening with accumulated dust.

4.2 DVD/CD Care and Maintenance

Precautions Regarding OperationIf your car has been parked under the hot sun, let the unit cool down before activating it.

· Be careful not to let juice or soft drinks drip on the unit or on the disks.

Wetness Condensation· In a rainy day or in a very humid region, humidity may be

condensed inside the laser reading lenses and on the unit display. If it happens, the unit will not work properly. In this case, remove the disk and wait for about one hour until the humidity has evaporated.

DVD/CD Handling· Do not touch the CD recorded surface.

·

· Do not place them exposed to direct sun light (over the seat or control panel, etc.) or under high temperature.

· Keep the CDs on their boxes or in any other that protects them from being scratched.

· Do not place adhesives or others on the CD. Also, do not use a CD with an adhesive.

· Due to their manufacturing process, CD-R and CD-RW are more susceptible of being damaged than a common musical CD (Compact Disk). Use a CD-R or CD-RW after reading the precaution items in the CD labeling.

CD Accessories· Do not use disk accessories.· Do not stick labels or use disks with sticky paints /

residues. Disks may stop rotating when used, causing defects or they may be damaged.

· Clean CDs using a soft and dry cloth. Movements shall always be made from the center to the edge of the disk and in a soft way.

Important! Your audio unit may be damaged if improper objects are inserted into it, like credit cards or coins, through the CD opening.

Cds RemovalWhen removing the CDs from this unit, store them at the horizontal position.

DVD/CDs that cannot be used· CDs which are not round shaped cannot be used.

· DVD/CDs painted in the recording surface, or those which are dirty cannot be used.

· Do not use DVD/CDs without the disc mark.

· It is not possible to reproduce a DVD/CD-R or DVD/CD-RW which has not been formatted. (For the formatting process consult your DVD/CD-R / CD-RW software and the instructions manual of the DVD/CD-R / CD-RW recorder.

· DVD/CDs of 8 cm (80mm) size.

Music disks encoded with copyrights protection This product has been designed to reproduce disks that comply with the Compact Disk (CD) standard. Recently, some labels have commercialized several encoded music disks with copyrights protection

It should be noted that, among those disks there are some which do not comply with the CD standard, and it might not be possible to reproduce them in this audio unit.

Important! Some CD-Rs / CD-RWs (depending on the equipment used for recording or the disk condition) might not be played in this unit.

Important! The CD, AUX, Bluetooth, iPod options can be selected only if devices are available. Tuner option will always be available.

5. OPERATIONS:

5.1 General Operations

The following discrete modes are possible in the audio1. SLEEP Mode 2. ACC ACTIVE mode3. NORMAL mode 4. POWER OFF mode

SLEEP Mode (Radio OFF):The system will enter SLEEP mode from normal/accessory active mode, when the key is changed to OFF position. When the system is in Sleep mode, there shall be no illumination in display. No key operations in IR RC/ SWC / Fascia switch will be recognized except [EJECT] button. CD Load & Switch illumination (when enabled) will work in SLEEP mode.

Acc Active Mode:System enters into this mode when key is in ACCESSORY position & infotainment is turned on. All audio features are active for maximum of 1 hour, and the display is active. Driver Information's are disabled in this mode.

Normal Mode / Radio Active:System enters into this mode, when key is in RUN position & infotainment is turned on. The infotainment will be fully functional in this mode. The system can recall the last played track of CD or USB, when the system powered off & on by user.

POWER OFF Mode:If user press [POWER] knob for more than 2 seconds, Infotainment will be powered OFF. All the audio functions will be deactivated in this mode.

5.2 Power/Volume/Mute

5.3 Volume KnobVolume can be increased or decreased by turning the volume knob `in clockwise and anticlockwise direction. Audio volume can be adjusted in Tuner, CD, DVD, AUX, iPod & Bluetooth modes.

5.4 AUTOSTORE/TUNE/SELECTION

Autostore/Tune/Selection knob is located at the right side of the fascia switch.When the user in radio mode, long press to store 6 strong frequenices at preset location, user can also tune to particular frequency by rotating the knob clockwise or anticlockwise.When the user is in Phonebook/L ist screen, user can press this knob to select the options to activate it or enter into the sub menu/folder.

Power/ Volume/ Mute knob is located a t the left side of the fascia switch. The infotainment shall be powered off by pressing this button for more than 2 seconds. Single press of this button shall turn ON the power again. When the user is in Phonebook/List screen, user can press [Power/Select] button to select the options to activate it or enter into the sub menu/folder

5.4 HomeShort press will take the user to the HOME Screen. From thereuser can go to the desired Mode.

5.5 SettingsThe user can enter into the setting screen via touch screen button short press; User can press the desired setting.

· General Settings : Display units, Auto Answer & ID3 Tags

· Display Settings : Display Brightness adjustments, vehicle illumination level adjustment and

Sleep display (The infotainment system will enter intoDisplay OFF or CLOCK mode based on setting duringpower OFF).

· Clock Settings : Date & Time Adjustments.· Tuner Settings : Senstivity setting, RDS ON/OFF & PTY

settings.· Bluetooth Settings : Managing all BT related functions.· Sound Settings : Bass, Treble, Balance & Fader.

Users can adjust Navigation volume as well as Mute the start up animation using Menu sound Volume screen as shown below.:

5.5.1 Bass/Treble/Balance/Fader ControlThe Bass / Treble /Balance / Fade level will be adjustable. Default level setting for all these will be zero.

When the Bass level is set to minimum the low frequency components in the music will be fully attenuated and if set to maximum the low frequency components will be fully amplified.

When the Treble level is set to minimum the high frequency components in the music will be fully attenuated and if set to maximum the high frequency components will be fully amplified.

The Balance setting is used to adjust the audio output between the left and right speakers.

The Fader defines the relative audio output of the front and rear channels.

The same Bass/Treble/Balance/Fade level will be used by the tuner, CD, AUX audio sources.

5.5.2 Equalizer User can enter into Music mode Selection screen via [EQ] button short press. The music modes available are Jazz, Pop, Rock, Classic, Voice, Normal and Mahindra Music Modes. Whenever any of these modes is selected, the corresponding music effects will be implemented into the current playing track.

5.5.3 Speed VolumeThe Infotainment system has the function Speed Volume Control; user can enable & adjust this option through “Sound Settings” screen (AVC). If this function is enabled, the volume will be adjusted automatically according to the car speed. In this case, the display doesn't show when the volume is changed.

5.5.4 Mahindra Music ModesUser can avail the 3 pre-defined equalizer settings.

1. Front Serenic: When user selects this option, the audio willbe available only in the front speakers.

2. Rear Serenic: When user selects this option, the audio willbe available only in rear speakers.

3. Retro: When user selects this option, the audio will beavailable in all 4 speakers with predefined Bass & Treblesettings.

User can enter into this mode via [EQ] button short press.

5.6 Clock Clock Setting

·Clock setting is available under setting option.·Synchronize to GPS time

If the box is enabled, Infotainment time will be synchronized with GPS time. and NO user setting is required

5.7 Mute

·Short press on [MUTE] knob on fascia switch or Steering wheel switch will mute the audio.

Infotainment will display “Audio Mute” when the currentsource is Radio& Aux · Infotainment will display “Audio Pause” when the

current source is CD/USB/iPod/BT Audio

5.8 InfoA short press on the [INFO] button in fascia switch will take you into the INFO screen.

· Fuel Info : Mileage and Distance To Empty information will be displayed.

Ø

Average Mileage value can be reset using the RESET button

provided on the Touch screen

· Tyretronics : Tyre pressure & Leakage alerts.

Alert will POP UP when there is low pressure / High pressure or Air leakage Alerts in any of the tyres.· Rev Camera : Reverse camera .· Alerts : Any active alerts (Door open, Tyre pressure, Vehicle

related ).· Service Info : Service related alerts.

6. TUNERUser can enter into this mode via [RADIO] short press in fascia switch or in “HOME” screen touch select. The tuner mode shall play the audio from regional broadcasted station, provided it meets the AM / FM / RDS transmission specification.

Radio Reception Always memorize the desired stations using the radio memory keys. This will help you in selecting the desired station in a faster manner.

AM Reception (Medium Waves) At most conditions, strong AM signals provide stable sound quality and with low signal noise. At night, however, the atmospheric conditions may sometimes lead to interference from other stations.

FM ReceptionFM zone offers best quality sound reception; however, the signal intensity may be subjected to noise caused by:· Limited reach of some transmitters.· Distortion caused by signals reflected in local buildings and

other obstructions. · “Shadow zones” wherein the signal reception is obstructed

or restricted.

5.9 Media (browsing)User can view the current media file structure using this media operation (Short press on [MEDIA] touch button). User can browse the contents of the media without affecting the music playing. User can rotate the SEL knob and select the desired location. The path of the current selection will also be shown/ updated. When a track is selected it will play and if a folder is selected all the tracks within it will be shown. Only valid files / folders will be shown in this screen. The icons for Files / Folder / Active folder will be shown distinctively

The current playing track will be shown highlighted with yellow color.

User can navigate within folders/tracks using the touchscreen buttons or use [<<<< ]to reach root folder.

6.1 Band SelectionIf radio is already active, a short press [BAND] touch button/RADIO button on facia will change the selected frequency band in order of FM1 → FM2 → Auto FM → AM1 → Auto AM → FM1. For example, if radio is currently in FM1 band, a short press of [BAND] button will make the radio change to FM2 band. Long Press on [BAND] button has no action.

6.2 Auto Seek

In tuner mode, the user can execute an automatic seek for the next active radio station broadcast within the currently selected frequency band

· The user can adjust the broadcasting frequency by short

press touch left/right arrow.

The user can start Auto seek by long press touch left / right arrow.

6.3 Preset Memory

6.3.1 To Store A Station (1 To 6)· Preset functionality allows storing or selecting a given radio

frequency within one of the reception ranges (FM1, FM2, Auto FM and AM1, Auto AM).

· Press & hold preset button [1]... [6] in touch screen will overwrite the previously stored frequency in that memory location with the current frequency.

6.3.2 Recalling a StationShort press of a preset button [1]... [6], in touch screen recalls the radio station frequency from memory; the tuner will change to this recalled frequency.

6.4 RDS (Radio Data system)The radio data system (RDS) is used to extract additional radio station information contained with the FM signal.

RDS data provide the following information:ü Radio station nameü Program Typeü Traffic announcement broadcasts

If an RDS signal is received then the station name will be automatically displayed.

User can enter into this screen via [SETTINGS] touch screen button.

6.4.1 Traffic/News AnnouncementsRDS radio stations have the ability to broadcast special traffic announcements (TA) and news during their normal radio broadcast. The radio will handle these as a special type of broadcast and interrupt the current audio source to play the announcement.

A short press on the TA button will enable/disable the Traffic program alerts. Similarly the news alerts can be activated through tuner menu selection.

Note:TA feature may work only if Traffic announcement broadcast is available.

7. PLAYING A MEDIA (CD/DVD/USB/iPod)

When ever a new CD / iPod / USB device is connected there shall be an appropriate pop up message to user.

Note: It is advisable not to use USB devices equipped with the “password” function. If the USB device is equipped with this function, always ensure that the function is disabled.

7.1 Playing Tracks

Whenever any CD/USB/iPod is plugged into the audio the very first track will be played by default. User can press [ ] / [ ] in touch screen and select the desired location. The radio can also display filename, folder name, ID3 (title, artist, album), genre of the current track. The default display content is Track number and playing time.

7.2 Repeating Tracks/ FolderWhen user wants to repeat the current playing song or folder, ashort press on the [RPT] button in touch screen will enable therepeat option. The options change in the following sequenceRepeat Off -> Repeat Song -> Repeat Field -> Repeat Off. Bydefault Repeat off is activated .

7.3 ShuffleWhen user wants, all the songs to be played in a random fashion ashort press on the [SHF] button in touch screen will enable therandom options. The options change in the following sequenceShuffle On -> Shuffle Off. By default random off is activated.

7.4 Ejecting a DVD/CD/USB/iPod A short press on the eject button will eject the CD.

It is always preferred to remove the USB / iPod only when the radio is powered off. Upon CD/USB/iPod removal, system play the audio from previously played source.

7.5 Playing AuxAUX jack connection will make the radio change to AUX mode automatically. Whenever an Aux device is connected there shall be an “AUX DEVICE CONNECTED.” message displayed in system.

if there is an external auxiliary audio input from the bezel AUX connector, the audio can be output via the speakers of the radio.During the AUX play, user cannot control the music played though the audio head unit. Operation like, seek track, fast forward/ rewind etc., can be done only through the connected device.

Whenever the Aux device is disconnected there shall be an “AUX IN REMOVED ” message displayed in system.

8. BLUETOOTH FUNCTIONS

The Bluetooth (BT) is a wireless protocol utilizing short-rangecommunications technology facilitating data transmission overshort distances from fixed and mobile devices. This product shallsupport BT 2.1, Class 2 making it possible for devices tocommunicate within a range of 10 Meters.The user can enable or disable BT communication with theInfotainment system by Bluetooth settings.

8.1 Searching from InfotainmentSearching for mobile phone / devices will be initiated, once theuser selects the option “ADD A DEVICE ” of Bluetoothsettings screen. The infotainment system will initiate thesearching for active mobile phones / devices within its rangefor a maximum of 1 minute. During this time the graphics willshow the above screen.

8.3 PairingPairing activity will be initiated after the completion of search done through mobile phone / Radio. Pairing will be successful once the key code entered is matching.

Pairing will fail if there is any BT communication failure. Then the pairing action will be aborted and infotainment system will revert to the previous audio source.

8.4 Reasons for the failure to detect/pair with a phone· System powered OFF.

·· Ignition key position moved to Off.· No phones found.

User press [CANCEL] in touch selection.

On completion of the search, the list of devices found willbe displayed and user can select the desired one.

8.2 Searching from Mobile PhonesInfotainment system will be in discoverable mode for 1 minuteand during period user can search for the “SCORPIO” from his/her mobile phone.This mode can be enabled from the option “Discover” ofBluetooth Menu options. The system will be in discoverablemode for 1 minute after the menu options is selected. User needsto search for audio devices from his/her mobile phone / BTdevice.

Once the key code 1234 is entered in the phone to pair thePhone and infotainment system will get connected and the pop upscreens will be as follows :

· User stops searching in mobile phone or enter wrong pin number etc.

· Bluetooth not turned ON.· No slot available for a new Bluetooth device to be

paired.

8.5 Wrong Pin EntryIf user has initiated the search from mobile phone and if he/she has entered the wrong pin number, the mobile phone will inform the appropriate message. On wrong pin entry case pairing will be failed and there will be a popup screen. Infotainment will revert to previous audio source.

8.6 Un pairing/DeletingUser can delete the paired device by press the Delete button on the “SETTING” Menu for “Bluetooth”.

8.7 Selecting for Phone / Audio ConnectionBy default the last paired device will be connected for both for HFP and audio streaming. However user can also change the device connected to a particular mode using “MANAGE” option in Bluetooth settings screen.

Note: The device that has been already connected will be highlighted with tick (ü ) mark.

8.8 DisconnectionIf user selects the already connected device then it will be disconnected.

8.9 Auto ReconnectionAuto reconnection will happen only with the preferred device. If there is no device available to connect, then infotainment shall not change its connection status unless user desire to do so. The device connection status will be indicated with the relevant symbol to user. Note: Preferred device will be phone already connected in Phone mode.

8.10 Bluetooth MusicUser can select the Bluetooth audio source via short press on “BT Music” Menu on “MUSIC” Mode in “MEDIA” Mode option in home screen (touch selection). When the connected BT phone is active, then the music can be played from it if the Phone supports A2DP profile. When a BT phone has been already connected to the

Infotainment, the last track that was played in the BT phone will be initiated. If the BT phone supports AVRCP profile then the track play will be initiated by Infotainment, else the play must be initiated by the user. The following actions on the music tracks can be done from the infotainment provided the BT device supports AVRCP profile. · Next / Previous track selection.· Play / Pause track.

9. PHONE BOOK

User can check the phone book with the following entry condition.· Infotainment in active mode.· Phone device connected and PBAP is supported.

If the contacts are not ready to be displayed then “ Phone Book Synchronizing” will be displayed.

Note:· The phonebook contacts copied to I nfotainment system

can only be used when the corresponding mobile phone is paired and connected.

· Infotainment system may take some time to download the contacts from the mobile phone. Download time varies based on type of mobile phone.

9.1. ContactsThe first level screen will show the contents of phone book with the first contact highlighted as below:

Short press of Up/down button in touch selection or fascia switch will enable the user to browse through the Phone Book list, . Long press of Up/down button in touch selection or fascia switch will enable Alphabetical Search ( A to Z).

9.2 Incoming CallAn incoming call will be intimated to user with help of the below screens (graphics) and the in-band ring tone as supported by the mobile phone. If the in-band ring tone is not supported then a standard tone for incoming call will be supported.

Incase of any incoming call the tuner will be muted and othermedia like CD/USB/iPod/ will be automatically paused. Uponthe termination of the call the tuner will be un-muted andCD/USB/iPod will resume automatically.

9.3 Outgoing CallUser needs to traverse through the Bluetooth menu options toselect the key pad.

· Short press on [PHONE] button in touch screen &Press “Keypad” in touch selection.

· Select “PHONE” option in home screen & press“Keypad” in touch selection.

On entering the required digits user needs to press “Call” buttonin touch screen to make the call or press [ ] button in touchscreen to exit from the screen.

An outgoing call will be intimated to user and the caller tune astransmitted by the network, else a standard tone for outgoing callwill be supported.

· User can play or pause the video using touch screen or Fascia panel.

· Next/Previous: User can play Next/previous video files bypressing or button in touch screen.

· Fast forward/Rewind: user can forward or rewind the video play by pressing or button in touch screen for more than 2 seconds.

· Aspect adjustment: User can adjust the aspect ratio (Width& Height of the display) by pressing “ASPECT” button intouch screen.

· Menu: This option will take you to the DVD menu options· Zoom: User can zoom in/out.· Subtitle: To select sub subtitle of current playing video.· Language: For changing Language.

NOTE: VIDEO PLAYBACK WILL NOT AVAILABLEWHEN VEHICLE SPEED IS MORE THAN 7Km/Hr

Play/Pause: 10. VIDEOInfotainment system supports video files. User can play videofiles from DISC or USB.User can enter into video play screen from other screens via[MEDIA] button short press or touch select “MEDIA” optionfrom HOME screen.

11. VEHICLE INFO

11.2 RPAS (Rear Parking Assistance System)

The RPAS is designed to assist the user in parking or driving the vehicle with reverse gear. The display system will warn the user about the obstacles present near the vehicle rear side, so that the user can safely drive the vehicle.

When the RPAS is active, the audio source will not be interrupted and RPAS tones will be played along with the existing audio if the obstacles are found.

11.4. Driver InformationThe driver information can be activated by a short press on the [INFO] button. On entering the DI screen.

· Distance to empty-shows the maximum distance that thevehicle can travel with the available fuel.

· Average Fuel consumption- shows the overall mileage ofthe vehicle.

11.5. Tyretronix

User can enter the TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system) screen (Tyretronix) on short press of [INFO] button , this will display the features of the tyre like pressure and temperature for all the 4 wheels including the spare wheel. It also gives alert if there is any air leakage.

OK – Will be the display for tyre pressure on all tyres unless low pressure / high pressure / air leakage is not present for that tyre.

12. AlertsThe below alert icons will be displayed if there is an alert logged for display in the alerts screen.

It will be deactivated if the alert screen is visited by user (using [INFO] button or on a new ignition cycle). Also it will not appear in the pop up / DI / Alerts screen.

Display alert Description

This alert is flashed when the hand brake is engaged; need to release the hand brake.

This alert is flashed when the brake fluid level is low in any of the four wheels . Contact the neares t MAHINDRA service centre.

This alert is flashed when engine temperature is high; need tosw itch off the engine.

This is an indication that the vehicle needs to be serviced. Regular servicing of the vehicle is necessary to ensure the peak performance of the vehicle.

The alert is an indication that the door is not properly closed. This might compromise with the safety of the passengers inside the car. Ensure all the doors are properly closed.

13.2 Glossary

Route : Trajectory calculated on the basis of given destination, via points, types of vehicles, type of roads etc. Start of the route is ALWAYS current GPS position. System can have only one route at a time.

Trip: Journey calculated using start location, via points and destination, types of vehicles and other settings. Arbitrary numbers of trips can be recorded and retrieved for later use and guidance.

Via Point : Location on the route or trip between GPS position or start and destination.

POI : Point of Interest.

Click on the map : Displays street name and brings up context menu.

Context menu description:

Navigate to : Calculates the route from instant GPS position to the selected point and starts guidance.

Find nearest POI : Starts the search for POIs near selected point.

Save location : Saves the selected point in favorites.

Add a destination : Sets the point as destination.

Add a via point : Sets a point as via point.

Set as start : Sets the point as the start point of the trip.
