THE EVIL DEAD (RENAISSANCE PICTURES)

• It was created by Renaissance Pictures in 1981. It had a budget of $375,000 and made a

gross profit of $2,400,000. It was highly successful horror film. Renaissance Pictures are

not a very well know institution and have only made a hand full of popular films. They

made mostly horror films. Their target audience is mainly adults who enjoy horrors.

Renaissance Pictures are also known for making The Evil Dead 2 and The Army of

Darkness which are all quite successful.

EVIL DEAD (GHOST HOUSE PICTURES)

• This is a remake of the classic film and had a budget of $17,000,000. It had a gross profit

of $54,239,856. It was created in 2013 by Ghost House Pictures. Ghost house pictures is

a well known institution. They are known for making horror films. Their target audience is

people who enjoy horrors which are mostly adults. Ghost house pictures have also made

Drag Me to Hell and The children which are fairly popular and quite successful.

SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES

Both institutions are known for making horror films and both successful because of them.

Renaissance Pictures is a lot smaller institution and is not as well known as Ghost House

Pictures.

I believe that the most successful institution is Ghost house pictures but only because it could

afford larger budgets. Considering the budget The Evil Dead had it was very successful but

Ghost house pictures has more successful films.
