limited to 13 10 of them are located in USA, 2 in Europe and 1 in Japan Anycast technology made possible to have clones of

eLAC
It was the result of the Regional Conference of Governments, in 2005 (Río de Janeiro). eLAC-2007 includes 70 goals.
eLAC-2007 process is runs by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)
LACNIC has activities that directly contribute with the achievement of 25 of the eLAC-2007 objectives probing that LACNIC is an active actor in the development of the Information Society in our region.
LACNIC usually participates in every eLAC activities, working groups, etc. Specially in those working groups related to the technical stability of Internet.

LACNIC and eLAC-2010
A new round of goals set by the governments to be achieved by 2010.
LACNIC participated during the debates and the elaboration of the 83 goals of the San Salvador Commitment.
Particularly, goal 15 referring to IPv6:
“ Carry out actions geared towards promoting the adoption of the IPv6 protocol at the public and private levels with a view to making all public services offered via the IP protocol, as appropriate, available on IPv6 and ensuring that the main State infrastructure and applications are IPv6-compatible. Actions to be implemented will, to the extent possible, include the early implementation of requirements to ensure that government procure equipment and applications that are IPv6-compatible.”
