parameters of quality in education.

Alumni Meet ‘Nostalgia - 2015’thAlumni Meet 'Nostalgia 2015' was organised on 7 March 2015. Mr. Santosh Panicker - Head, HR, Sears Holding

Corpoartion., Pune and Mr.Rajendra Deshpande - Head, ERP L&T Infotech, Pune were the Chief Guests. More than 350 alumni

participated in the meet with enthusiasm and nostalgic memories. Some alumni also participated in the cultural activities.The

Alumni Interacted with the present batch students and shared their experiences. 'Alumni Newsletter' was published in the meet.

17 Alumni were awarded for their achievements in their professional career as 'Star Alumni'. The Alumni also gave valuable

feedback. The meet concluded with cultural programme.

National Level Workshop on ‘Educational

Research and Applications of Statistics for

Inter disciplinary Research’

National Level Workshop was organized on “Educational

Research and Applications of Statistics for Inter

disciplinary Research” sponsored by S. P. Pune University

under Quality Improvement Program on 15 - 16 Jan. 2016.

The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest

Dr. R. S. Deshpande - Principal, SCSM College of

Engineering, Ahmednagar. 56 participants from various

colleges attended the workshop.

State Level Workshop on ‘Responsive Web

Development Using HTML5 and CSS3’

State Level Workshop was organized on ‘Responsive

Web Development Using HTML5 and CSS3” sponsored

by S. P. Pune University under QIP on 12 - 13 Feb. 2016.

The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Ashok

Jadhav, Principal, Shri Baneshwar Arts, Commerce and

Science College, Ahmednagar. 111 participants from various

colleges attended the workshop.

Prof. U. H. Nagarkar - Head, IT Dept. was awarded Ph.D.

for his thesis “A study of Quality Management of

Software used in co-operative sector with special

reference to Ahmednagar District.”under the guidance of

Dr. M. B. Mehta - Director, IMS.

The Librarian Dr. Swati Barnabas was awarded Ph.D.

degree in Library and Information Science by S. P. Puneth University on 25 May 2015. The title of the thesis was

‘Doctoral Research in Library and Information Science in

India: A Critical Study’.

l CA Prof. D. A. Kulkarni elected as ‘Secretary’ ICAI,

Ahmednagar.

Prof. Mahesh Potadar - IT faculty member received 'The

Best Citizens of India - 2015' award given by

International Publication House, the world's most

leading biographical specialists, New Delhi.

The 'Best Ph.D. Thesis Award' was conferred to Prof.

Dr. Hatim Kayumi for participating in the competitionth

Institutional Activities The Institute conducted a special lecture on Personal

Financial & Investment Planning on 17th Aug. 2015 for

teaching & non teaching staff of the Institute. Ms.

Management Department Activities

Orientation for MBA-I

Orientation programme for MBA-I students was onducted

on 3rd Aug. 2015. Director Dr. M. B. Mehta welcomed

the students. He informed the students about the B.P.H.E.

Society and IMS. Dr. Meera Kulkarni - Head, Management

Dept. detailed the code of conduct for MBA programme.

Management Games 'Galaxy - 2015’Management Games were held on 14th & 15th Sept. 2015.

The event was named as 'Galaxy - Infinity & Beyond'.

More than 15 Alumni attended the event. Col. Karun Ohri,

Mr. Kunal Kulkarni, Jacinta Parera contributed in the

success of the event.

Seminar on 'FOREX’

Seminar on the Topic ‘FOREX’ was organized on 27th Oct.

2015 by Foreign Exchange Dept., Mumbai Regional

Office, Reserve Bank of India. Mr. Tribhuwan Singh,

Dy. General Manager, Ms. Jyoti Maheshwari -Manager,

Ms. Padma Ramchandran - Asst. Manager. They gave

an audio visual presentation on What is RBI, Functions

of RBI and Rules and Regulations of FOREX, handled

the queries and doubts of the students.

Inter College Competition ‘Aagneyum - 2016’

The Management Department of the institute Organised

an Inter - College Competition 'Aagneyum - 2016' for

undergraduate Students on 23 Jan. 2016. Eight

Competitions namely Quiz, Mock Press, Face Painting,

Collage, Extempore, Ad Mad Show, Antakshari and

Group Dance were conducted in the event. The Students

studying at undergraduate level in Arts, Science, Commerce,

Pharmacy and Engineering in reputed colleges in

Ahmednagar and neighboring districts participated in the

event. 44 Teams and 380 students participated in the event

and Showcased their talent. The guest for prize distribution

were - Mr. Rajesh Pewal, Head - HR, Eaton, Ahmednagar

was the chief guest. The winners of all the competitions were

given certificates, mementos and cash prizes. The overall

Championship was won by 'Sangamner College,

Sangamner'. The alumni Mr. Narendra Firodiya

sponsored 200 T-Shirts for organizing committee and

contributed in the success of the event.

Autonomous Diploma

in Hospital Administration

The Institute has started a Autonomous Diploma in Hospital

Administration on 25th Sept. 2015. Dr. Shreya Kakade is

the resource person. The duration of the course is 1 year and

is conducted twice in a week (Fri. & Sat). Doctors and

Administration staffs of reputed hospitals are part of this

course.

Blood Donation CampOn the occasion of Founders day (22nd Jan.) Institute, Arpan

Blood Bank and Thalassemia Society of Ahmednagar jointly

organized ‘Blood Donation Camp’ for the benefit of

Thalassemia patients. 106 Blood Bags were collected during

the camp. Alumni Mr. Madhur Bagayat contributed by

donating blood.

Seminar on ' Shivaji - The Management Guru’A guest lecture was organized for-MBA students by

Prof. Namdeorao Jadhav on 'Shivaji : The Management

Guru”. 150 students were present for the same.

Seminar on ‘Soft Skills’Ms. Tejaswini Kulkarni conducted the seminar on 15th Oct.

2015. She covered following in Etiquettes and Mannerism a)

Dinning b) Telephone c) e-mail. In Personal Grooming she

covered a) Formal b) Casual c) Business Meetings. She also

discussed various aspects of Interview techniques.

A Guest Lecture on the Topic ‘Cancer Awareness and Life

style diseases’ was organised by ‘HEALTH SERVE’ thAhmednagar Branch on 14 Jan. 2016 for MBA students.

Dr. Snita Shivkumar - Cancer Specialist conducted a session

on ‘Cancer Awareness’. Dr. Bharat Salve - Diabetologist

conducted a session on ‘Life Style Diseses.

Future’

Feb., 2016 at ICAI Bhawan, Ahmednagar. Eminent speakers

The Parent - Teacher Meet for MBA I students was organized th

on 4 Sept. 2015. Parents were quite satisfied with the efforts

made by the Institute in developing student's overall

located at Wai.

Faculty members and MPM Students visited Tata

Motors, Pune on 26th Oct. 2015. They studied the

manufacturing processes of all types of vehicles.

IMS MCA-2004 First Batch Alumni Mr. Sunil Tiwari,

Morgan Stanley, Mumbai interacted with MCA-IIIth students on 29 Aug 2015.Objectives of the session

was to motivate students, make them understand

happenings in the Industry.

IMS MCM Alumni and current faculty Mr. Harind

Shankar. interacted with MCA III students on 2 andth 4 Sept. 2015 on MY-SQL open source session.

IMS MCA 2012 Alumni Pushkar Sangle, Scientific

Gaming, Pune, shared many aspects of IMS ITth

practices on 5 Sept. 2015.

Parent - Teacher Meet

IT Department Parent Teacher Meet was organized on rd3 Oct. 2015. Parents of all MCA students were invited.

60 parents attended the meet. Many issues such as

scholarships, placement, and backlog were discussed in the

meet.

Fest-Der-Tech 2016th

On the occasion of IT day (20 Aug.), IT department

organized various competitions for students of B.A,

B.Com, B.Sc , B.C.A, B.C.S, B.Sc (IT), B.B.A., from th

Ahmednagar District on 27 Aug 2015. More than 500

students from 21 different institutes/colleges throughout

the district participated in the event. The competitions

for Under Graduate students were Paper Presentation,

Quiz Competition, Online C Programming , Aptitude test,

Poster Competition, Gaming and Website Development.

Alumni Ms. Sonal Gundecha and Mr. Sachin Khandare

contributed in the success of the event.

Faculty Development Program Organized

A Three day Faculty Development Program on Software

Testing was organized on topic “Automated Testing

using Selenium Web Driver 2.01” for the faculty members th th th

of IT department on 5 Oct , 10 Oct and 24 Nov 2015.

A CASE tools workshop was organized for MCA-III

students on 8th Aug., 28 Sept & 5 Oct. 2015.

delivered a lecture on the topic 'Recent Trends in

Software Market' on 28th July 2015.

A guest lecture on 'Oracle Forms and Reports' was

arranged for the students of MCA-III on 16th

Sept.2015.Mr. Shrikrishna Gatne, currently working

with Kinetic Engg., Ahmednagar, guided the students.

A guest lecture on 'Data Warehousing & Business

Intelligence, Big Data & Hadoop' was arranged

for the students of MCA-II and III on 26 Sept. 2015.

Mr. Atul Deshpande, currently working with Tech

Mahindra, Pune as Business Analyst Cum PL/SQL

Developer in Telecom Domain, guided the students.

Learning Resource Centre ActivitiesLibrary orientation for fresher's of MBA, MCA, PGDBM

and MPM was organized in last week of July and first week

of August.

‘Author Speaks’The book talk show Author Speaks was organized by

stStudent Library Committee on 31 Aug. 2015. The Chief

Guest was renowned author and IT Consultant Prof. Atul

Kahate, Pune. The library's newsletter was released at the

hands of honorable Chief Guest.

E-resource Training Programme

The programme ‘E-resource Training Programme’ was

conducted by Student Library Committee to raise

awareness and usage of the e-resources subscribed by th the Institute on 29 Sept. 2015 for faculty and

Entrepreneurship Development Centre Activities

Establishment of ‘Skill Enhancement and

Entrepreneurship Development Centre’

(SEEDC)

The Entrepreneurship Development Centre of IMS

has been converted into Skill Enhancement and

Entrepreneurship Development Centre (SEEDC).

For this Institute has secured substantial financial

support from Ramesh Phirodia Educational Trust.th Inauguration ceremony of SEEDC was held on 27

June 2015. Dr. W. N. Gade - Vice Chancellor, S. P.

Pune University was the Chief guest, Padmashri

Chandu Borde - Chairman B.P.H.E. Society,

presided over the function.

Courses like English Speaking Course, Basics of

Computer, Flower Making, Jewellery Making, Lamasa

Work, Soft toys making, Computer Hardware, Paper

bags, Detergent phenyl making, Rakhi making are

introduced by SEEDC. Around 400 women took

training under SEEDC.

SEEDC has started ‘Madhyamanche Antarang’ a media

course for school children. The course is conducted in

association with Radio Nagar 90.4 FM. 52 students from

Shri Ramkrushna Engilsh Medium School enrolled for

the same.

The IMS Library celebrated a reading day on the

auspices of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna th

Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 15 Oct. 2015. The IMS

Student Library Committee initiated a Book Review

activity for IMS faculty, staff & students alike.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas i.e. National Unity Day wasst celebrated on 31 Oct 2015 for India's unity, safety

and security. It marked the birth anniversary of

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The Lecture Series was organized by the IMS Student

Library Committee to celebrated the “Constitution

Day“ and 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R.th

Ambedkar on 26 Nov. 2015 by organizing a lecture on

topic ‘Constitution of India’ for the IMS students, staff

and faculty. The Chief Guest was renowned teacher,

speaker, author and political analyst Prof. S. J. Kavade

Director and HOD, Gandhian Studies Centre (Dept. of

SEEDC is launching new skilled based courses like

Share Trading, Knitting, Finance for Non finance

people, Mobile repairing, Computer training on wheel,

Basic Accounting for non commerce students.

Vidyarthini Manch Activity A guest lecture of Dr Shama Mantri, a power Yoga

Instructor was organized on 29 Jan. 2016 in the IMS

Conference Hall. The speaker spoke on ‘Real Beauty

and Yoga-Just for you’.

Eminent Doctors from Ahmednagar city like

Dr. Shama Mantri, Dr. Suchit Tamboli & Dr. Shankar

Shelke were invited to speak to the lady students of

IMS Vidyarthini Manch on 7 Oct. 2015 at IMS to

discuss on women's health, diet and awareness about

preventive measures and care to be taken to avoid

deformities in children in future.

A guest lecture of Sub-Inspector Ms. Jayashree Kale

was organized on 8 Sept. 2015. Girl students, faculty

members and members of the non-teaching staff

attended the lecture. She guided and motivated

students about correct behavior, preventive measures

for crimes and self-defence.

Placement Cell ActivitiesThe Institute has the Placement Cell, which maintains and

creates bonding with the Industries, invites them for

campus placement and also develops students, educates

them about the industries and its needs. More than 50

Alumni of MCA and MBA helped in Summer Projects,

Internship Projects and Final Placement. More than 60

students from Management and IT Dept. have been

placed. The highest Internship stipend was received this

year by Sears Holdings where our Alumni Mr. Santosh

Panicker is working as Chief People Officer. Many

alumni refered renowned MNC'S like Chrysallis,

Xento systems, Zensar, Persistance, Wipro has given

opportunities to students. Contribution of Alumni

Dhananjay Kulkarni,, Amol Deshpande, Rohan Londhe,

Satish Shetti, Mughdha Takalkar, Sunil Tiwari, Morgan

I am always being eager to say about

IMSCDR . IMS gave colors to my dreams.

The faculty of IMS gave support with care

and helped me throughout in my

curriculum. They made me feel to be at

ease and taught to realize the strengths

and weaknesses. This helped me to excel in the place of

work. I should mention that the teachers & all the

administrative staff were polite and helpful throughout. IMS

has played a great role in the success of my career. It's a

great honor for me to be a part of IMS family to learn.

It is always good to come back to an institute like IMS, where

skills had been nurtured and enhanced. This institute gave a

platform to express ourselves.

It's a wonderful and grateful experience what I have got

Memories of Alumni

This is my immense pleasure to share my views and feeling

for my college.

There were these 2 precious years of IMS in my life which I

will be savoring through out my lifetime. It was the

company of my mates, guidance of my Guru's, some lifetime

memorable moments of academic's which will be in my

memory till my grave.

Today I am confident in this competitive world because of

the learning I had in these years from The Institute

Management Studies(IMS) and from the Staff which were

more than a friend and a guardian. Some lessons which could

never be learnt somewhere else were taught to us without any

selfish motives.

Moments with peers, leanings from academics, path shown

by my Guru's and strong foundation of approach built was all

within this institute.

I Would be indebted for my life for everything that IMS has

given me.

Thanks to IMS and all teaching and non teaching staff for

making us eligible to stand in the race of life.

After receiving the letter through whatsup

from one of my friend Vijay Ranga and I

became nostalgic !! I went down to my

memory lane of almost 24 years back, I am

the proud topper of first MPM batch of

1992. I am also the student of Ahmednagar

College Ahmednagar. (B.Com. 1990)

I remember my dilemma while taking the admission for

MPM as the course was not starting due to some procedural

delay at University level but our Hon. Dr. Prof. Kolte assured

me and other my friends that MPM course will be started in

IMSCDR in Academic Year of 1990-91 and it was started.

Initially we struggle for getting the rhythm for curriculum

and once it started was carried for 2 years. My two years

during 1990-1992 were really meaningful and engaged

which has built my foundation for professional career

I remember the two way adult learning approach adopted by

then professors and visiting faculties which has helped us to

shape up our communication and presentation skills as well

as debating. The seminars organized by us, Industrial visits

organized by Prof Kanojia and guidance given my our senior

class mates who were working in the Industries. These are

my feeling from the bottom of my heart and not the formal

words. I will be always grateful to my professors like Dr.

Sharad Kolte, Sudhir Huddedar, Samson Kanojia,

Kamlapurkar, Kiran Joshi and others whose names I don't

recollect now. And my senior class mates like Mr. Prakash

Manvelikar, Magar, Mahske, Kharat, Shrinivas Kulkarni,

Mr. Devid , Mr. Siddhu etc.

I am working as HR Professional from last 22 years in

different capacities in different IMC & MNC like Hindustan

Unilever Limited (then it was HLL), AB Birla Group,

Novartis Group Sandoz Pharam, Mondelez India Foods

Private Limited ( Earlier known as Cadbury India Limited)

and recently I have joined as Head HR for CRC West of

TATA STEEL.

It is my great pleasure to join the alumini of IMS Association

for this purpose please let me know the formalities to be

completed. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend 12

March function as I have just joined TATA STEEL and

presently at Jamshedpur.Mr. Yogesh Hebalkar

Doing an MBA (HR) from IMS is the

biggest asset I hold today. It's because of

my MBA in HR and the skills imbibed

from the institute, I am a proud

entrepreneur owing a Recruitment

Organization “Cognilarity”. What would

be better feeling than 'Being a self-boss'. A

Graduate in IT and an MBA in HR is what aids in getting the

best positions to work on from today's Best fit IT Industries. I

always dreamt of having an IT - Software career, but luckily I

pursued an MBA, and it was IMS which helped me bring out

the real skills of me .The first term Management Games,

really push us hard and get out all our Management skills,

and indeed it was then I realized my “Human Resource

Management skills” and was double sure of pursuing it

ahead. Sitting in the class and attending lectures is not what

IMS only does. Instead it prepares us to the core work -

Projects, Assignments, Real work tasks,

Time Management, Group works, Pressure Management

and at the end of our curriculum we are ready to

accommodate in any corporate culture. Formal instruction

and mentorship from great minds in Education can indeed

help leaders prepare for the challenges that come with

entrepreneurship, and this is where my entrepreneurship

qualities come from. Really miss those days, our professors

and the Institute. “Fun and a Dream coming true

experience”. Highly Recommended Institute for

Management Studies!

I was guided in the right direction from the moment I was

inducted into the college. I found the way of teaching of

professors was very industry focused. Every teaching

session involved the discussion of real life case studies. This

really helped me understand the problems faced by

professionals in the managerial field. Everyday was my

learning experience. Today I am working in Information

Technology field and it is just because of IMS. I am really

thankful to all my teachers who guided me through the

It's been almost two years I passed out from IMS, but till date

I cherish the memories with IMS . The memory of my first

day is still fresh in my mind that is the lecture that I attended

in MPM in the first year which was delivered by Ms. Prerna

Tripathi where she conducted an activity of ice breaking.

I was also engaged in the Earn and Learn Scheme, where I

was placed in the Administration Department of IMS for

about 8 months. It was a great experience working with

Mrs.Kulkarni ,Mr. Dixit and Mr. Mohite Sir. I also

volunteered the International Conference held in IMS.

In 2013 the study tour to Delhi was organized by

Prof.Shinde who is also the coordinator of MPM where we

met Mr. Sharad Pawar, visited Parliament Museum and

Rashtrapati Bhawan. I have also been a part of most of the

activities like visit to Hivare Bazar, visit to DSK Toyota, visit

to Larsen & Toubro, visit to the orphanage i.e. Pumpkin

House, Traffic controlling and also antakshari, carom etc. I

All the teaching staff of IMS have always been very

supportive and a continuous source of inspiration.

Hi,

This is Nilesh Pathare, I had completed my MBS in Supply

chain management from BPHE society's IMS Ahmednagar.

When I took admission MBS, I was working as Asst.

Manager Purchase in a MNC. During my academic year of

MBS, I came to know my entrepreneurial strength and I

decided to become job creator. I left the job and started by

business by the name of Nuway Industrial Products in Nov

2015. I was thinking to start my own business from last

couple of years but it was not possible due to some reasons.

But during my MBS academic year my whole life changed

and I become a self-confident person. I was having ability

to do business bus confidence was low. All faculty members

guided me very well to build my confidence. I really thank all

of them. IMS not only imparts classroom education but also

gives focus on overall development of student to become

successful in their life and become contributing person to

build the nation strongly.

Let me give you a lowdown on the experience that I had

while studying at IMS. The teachers were really good. IMS's

system of trainers, mentors and coaches is worth praise. I

was guided in the right direction from the moment I was

inducted into the Institution. Next up on my list is the

curriculum. I found that the syllabus was very Industry-

focused. Every teaching session involved the discussion of

real-life case studies and the knowledge of the applications.

This really helped me understand the problems faced by

My student life at the IMS had its ups and downs. And I

Mr. Satish Shetty joined Amdocs in May 2010 and has

worked in various divisions of our company in different

roles. He was associated with our R&D Division for some

time and then he moved to delivery team. Later he moved to

the current unit ( GSS ADM) as a developer. He is a

hardworking and dedicated employee. He is very proactive

and has worked in various projects. He has been instrumental

in the success of various projects in the unit. He has been

promoted to Development Team lead in October last year

and he is leading a team of around 8 people for a major

telecommunication client in North America. He is a very

good people manager. He leads the team in all day to day

activities including client interactions, very effectively.

Mr. Vikas Deokar was selected from CAMPUS Interview

from IMSCD&R @ July - 2012 as Trainee Software

Engineer. He has completed successful training and joined

the company as Regular Sofware Engineer. He is still

working with us. His behaviors and communication is good

and is currently working on One of our product with having

good exposure in DotNet technologies / TDL , XML SQL

server etc. He is respectful to all team member and is a good

team player. His current position is Software Consultant.
