WHAT IS THE LEVEL OF BUY IN ANDINVOLVEMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND

POLITICIANS

Many politicians accept the fact that GBVexist and do not protest the request toincrease the percentage (30-50%)of womenin the posts of decision making.

Many public or private institutions have

already integrated gender issue in their planof activities with a budget.

In the speeches of the local authorities, theyalways talk about gender as an importantmatter.

Conception and distribution of little postersand pamphlets.

Everyday opening of the centre.

Sensitization within remote quarters.

Organisation of conference debate.

Reinforcement of the abilities of responsiblesof associations or groupment and

responsibles of quarters as well as mayors. Publication of stories on violence.

WHAT RESULTS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED?

Women have more self-confidence and begin to have their say in all fields.

People do not fear administration anymore.

Responsible of some churches call us to make campaigns of sensitization and debates within

their churches.

Many men come to confide in the centre.

The collaboration with other entities is concrete: health service which takes care of injured or

raped persons.

The judiciary police which undertakes pursuits.

Local authorities: facilitate our tasks and collaborate to reduce and even eradicate violence.

The acts of conjugal violence have diminished, and this is proved through polls and the

monitoring of the cases treated in the centre.

People, aware of their rights tell it publically and ask to apply it.

IMPACT (BASED ON THE SADC PROTOCOLTARGETS)

Art 4-8: marriage: the same age for girls andboys to be married

Art 10: boys and girls: establishment of thenetwork for the protection of their Rights.

Art 12-13: Governance: many women aretrained and are ready to present themselvesfor the next elections.

Art 14: education: concerning single mothers. Art 15-19:reinforcement of economical means

:women empowerement ART 20 -25: sexist violence
