Associate Professor Dr. Shaufique Fahmi Ahmad Sidique Director, Instute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies Welcome Note With the majority of our students going into employment or further studies, the Instute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies is internaonally recognized for delivering high quality educaon. Instute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies (or IKDPM) has the experse to develop analycal skill in understanding the complexity of an industry or market and evaluang opons available to ensure opmum deci- sion and impact. IKDPM also provides training in quantave techniques to strengthen the analycal skills and policy analysis. These techniques include system dynamics, input- output, econometrics, applied general equilibrium models, mulvariate analyses, non-parametric analyses among others Instute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies IKDPM was established in 2005 to carry out research in agricultural and food policy issues. It is a renowned agricultural policy analysis centre in the country with extensive research experience in the areas of agricultural development, bio-resource and environment, markeng and trade, producon and processing. Its core acvies are research, consultancies, and public service with the following objecves : To analyse the impact of macro policy changes, both naonal and global, on the agriculture and food sector; To provide policy opons for major problems constraining the agriculture and food sector To idenfy and analyse current and future issues in agriculture, food and natural resources. Entry Requirements Master of Science (MSc) i. A Bachelor’s degree from recognized universies with a CGPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent; or ii. A CGPA of less than 3.0 with at least 3 years of working experience will be considered. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) i. A Master’s degree with thesis in related field; or ii. A non-thesis Master’s degree with CGPA of at least 3.5 and a B+ for project paper; or Apart from the thesis requirement, postgraduate students are required to take a prescribed coursework minimum 6 credits for MSc and 9 credits for PhD. The courses to be taken for both programmes are those that are offered by: i. Faculty of Agriculture ii. Faculty of Economics and Management iii. Faculty of Educaonal Studies iv. Faculty of Environmental Studies v. Faculty of Forestry vi. The main issue is the recreaonal aspect of natural resources, conservaon of renewable resources, internaonal trade, economic, environmental and fuel. LABORATORY OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION, MARKETING AND TRADE This laboratory conducts research related to agricultural and food producon, markeng and trade. Areas of research include producon economic analysis, cooperaon, demand, supply and price, supply chain, consumer behaviour, finance and internaonal trade. LABORATORY OF QUANTITATIVE METHODS FOR POLICY ANALYSIS This laboratory aims at strengthening the applicaon of quantave methods for policy analysis such input- output, system dynamics, computable general equilibrium, econometrics and other related techniques.

    Welcome Note With the majority of our students going into employment or further studies, the Institute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies is internationally recognized for delivering high quality education.

    Institute of Agricultural and Food Policy Studies (or IKDPM) has the expertise to develop analytical skill in understanding the complexity of an industry or market and evaluating options available to ensure optimum deci-sion and impact.

    IKDPM also provides training in quantitative techniques to strengthen the analytical skills and policy analysis. These techniques include system dynamics, input-output, econometrics, applied general equilibrium models, multivariate analyses, non-parametric analyses among others
