Radiant heat at the push of a button: he revolutionary infrared short-wave technology of our radiant heaters

instantly provides comfortable heat as soon as it is switched on. The high-frequency heat waves penetrate the air without

heating it, resulting in energy-efficient, effective heat projected precisely where it is needed - at people, objects and materials.

This is achieved without the usual problems of pre-heating and its associated cost, loss from draughts or from hot air rising.

An almost unlimited range of uses: Our radiant heaters range from 1kW to 18kW - from the small heater for a

balcony or hobby room to powerful heating units for entire halls - even offering the possibility of targeting specific areas in large

buildings, and very effectively too. In combination with motion detectors, they can function automatically and economically and

thereby provide additional economies as precise areas are heated instantly and only at the desired time. Even process heating

in production areas or heating and drying of materials in paint shops are no problem for our heating systems.

Expertise and experience: As a forerunner in the area of infrared short-wave technology, we have many years of

Due to its open design, (without protection glass) the TERm 2000 IP65 achieves a very high durability of up to 5000 hours. What is infrared?

Infrared radiation is a sub-area of the light spectrum generated by the sun. This type of light, however, is invisible to the human eye; it only serves to radiate heat. This means that infrared rays, responsible for the human sensation of heat, are positive rays and cannot be compared with uV, microwave radiation or X-rays.

Owing to their different wavelengths and resulting mode of action, a distinction is drawn between three types of infrared rays:

• IR-A, short wave, 780–1,400 nm (0.8–1.4μ) 3620k–2070k

• IR-B, medium-wave, 1,400–3,000 nm (1.4–3μ) 2070k–965k

• IR-C, long-wave, 3,000–10,000 nm (3-10μ) 965k–290k

Why short wave?

Basically, it‘s like this: the shorter the wavelength, the easier the air is penetrated. Short-wave infrared generates heat by heating the solid that the wawes hit, without heating the air around. A good example for this mode of action is the effect that occurs when a person walks out of the shade into the sunlight. Although the ambient temperature remains the same, one feels the temperature as considerably warmer under direct solar radiation. This phenomenon for example also allows you to sunbathe on your skiing holiday at very low ambient temperatures.

Long-wave infrared rays, on the other hand, do not have this effect; rather, they warm the surrounding air and thus take considerably longer until a feeling of warmth sets in.
