Installing the Kyocera KX Print Driver – Windows Operating Systems
1. Download the current Kyocera KX driver from DL Gallivan’s website
a. In your web browser, navigate to https://www.dlgallivaninc.com
b. Click on “Downloads”
c. Click on “KX Driver” to download the current driver
2. Extract the contents of the .zip archive to your desired folder.
3. Launch the “setup.exe” file located in the “en” subfolder
4. Select “Custom Install”
5. Select the printer you would like to install from the “Devices” list
a. Your device may show up more than once in the list. In most environments, you will want to select the device
with an IPv4 address listed. Some environments may require IPv6. If you are unsure which to choose, check with
your IT team.
6. Press the blue arrow to add the device to the installation list
7. Select “KX Driver” from the “Drivers” list
8. Press the blue arrow to add the KX Driver to the installation list
9. Select the “Utilities” tab
10. Select “FONTS” from the “Utilities” list
11. Press the blue arrow to add fonts to the installation list
12. If your Kyocera device is configured to get an IP address automatically from a DHCP server, you will need to place a
checkmark next to “Use host name as port name.” If your device has a static IP address assigned, or a DHCP reservation
has been created, this is not necessary.
13. Click “Install”
14. Select “No” on the next window to disable data collection
15. Select “OK” to initiate installation of the selected products
16. Remove the checkmarks from the “Set Duplex as default” and “Show Quick Print” options (unless desired/required in
your environment)
17. Click “Finish” to complete the installation process
18. If you are installing a Black and White device, no further configuration is necessary
a. Some environments may require additional settings. If you are unsure, check with your IT team.
19. If you are installing a Color device, DL Gallivan recommends setting the default color selection to Black and White. This is
not required, but will help reduce unnecessary color usage.
20. To change your default color selection, open “Printing Defaults” from the “Advanced
tab of the “Printer Properties” window.
a. If you are unsure of how to access “Printer Properties”, check with your IT team.
21. Select “Black” in the color selection section of the Kyocera KX driver
22. Select “OK” to save the default setting
