Installing Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client on Windows

From a web browser go to https://www.mcohio.org and click on ‘Government’ then ‘Auditor’

Then click ‘Data Processing’

In the middle of the page you will see a link to the software named ‘Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client Software’ Click this to begin downloading.

You will see a prompt at the bottom of the screen, click ‘Run’ This will begin the installation of the Cisco VPN software

Click Next

Click ‘I accept the terms in the License Agreement’ and then click ‘Next’

Click ‘Install’

The VPN software is now installed and ready to use. Go to your start button and find the icon with a white globe with green and blue through it.

Look for… Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client

Once you open the Cisco AnyConnect Client, on the first run you will need to enter the address vpn.mcohio.org Then click ‘Connect’

Use your domain login (login you use on your work computer)

You will receive a disclaimer before final connection, click ‘ok’ to agree.

You will now see a green checkmark notifying you of a successful connection. The Cisco Client will minimize to the windows tray and you can now remote to your computer.

When you are done, click ‘Disconnect’ to close your connection to the VPN.

Using Remote Desktop to connect to your work computer Before you leave work, first find your computer name that you will be connecting to. To do this go to Control PanelSystem

A new window will pop up. You will find your computer name here. Write this down and take it home with you.

Once you are on your home PC and connected to the Cisco VPN you can now remotely connect to your work PC.

Open ‘Remote Desktop Connection’ by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type Remote Desktop

Connection, and then, in the list of results, click Remote Desktop Connection.

Put in your PC name and click ‘Connect’ You will log in again with you normal domain login. Now you will be connected directly to you work computer.
