CHAPTER 1 GENERAL

1.1 Product Introduction

Fusion4 Portal is a Windows PC application intended for oil terminals and other terminals as well. Its main function is to print the Bill of Lading (BoL) after product has been delivered to a truck or train, etc. The transaction data is also automatically saved on disk for later retrieval.

Release 120 of Fusion4 Portal can scan and print the transaction data of 1 up to 50 devices (1010 CB preset controllers, Single Stream Controllers for Blending (SSC-Bs) and Single Stream Controllers for Additive Injection (SSC-As)).

Fusion4 Portal features an OPC Server that scans the 1010CB devices continuously to provide real time values, alarms and the current state of the devices.

The application is compliant with the European Directive 2004/22/EC (Measuring Instruments Directive).

Future releases will offer support for other devices.

CHAPTER 3 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

3.1 General

The Fusion4 Portal application retrieves its data from the connected devices via serial communication lines and uses this data to print a transaction report, named a Bill of Lading. The program needs parameters like the device address and com port name. These parameters can be entered and maintained by means of the Configuration module of Fusion4 Portal.

Fusion4 Portal features an OPC Server module named Fusion4 that communicates with the 1010CB devices. Fusion4 offers OPC connectivity with OPC clients to read, subscribe and write values to the 1010CB device to achieve the required workflow at the terminals.

3.2 System Architecture

The Fusion4 Portal can be seen as a software suite running in the safe area or more specific in the control room. It consists of the following integrated modules:

Fusion4 Portal Configuration module (see section 3.2.1)

Scan module (see section 3.2.2)

BoL Handling module (see section 3.2.3)

Monitor module (see section 3.2.4)

Print On Demand module (see section 3.2.5)

OPC Server module (see section 3.2.6)

3.2.1 Fusion4 Portal Configuration Module

The Fusion4 Portal Configuration module enables the configuration, commissioning and maintenance of a site database. As soon as all Fusion4 Portal devices (1010 CBs, Single Stream Controllers for Additive Injection (SSC-As) and Single Stream Controllers for Blending (SSC-Bs)) are created in the site database and the communication parameters and addresses are set, the runtime modules of the Portal can be launched.

3.2.2 Scan Module

The Scan module is started automatically when the computer is started. This module communicates continuously with all connected devices. As soon as a device has new transaction data available the Scan module will retrieve this data. This fully automatic process takes place in the

background out of user’s sight. Therefore, no user interaction is required.

The Scan module communicates via all computer ports concurrently (if more than one port is used). Therefore, Fusion4 Portal is able to respond quickly when new data from a device becomes available.

In addition to retrieving transaction data from the connected devices, the Scan module also retrieves realtime data during loading, alarms and operational parameters as well.

REMARKS: 1. Cabling for the 1010 CB is described in Card Descriptions and Wiring Manual Load Computer 1010 CB.

2. Cabling for the SSC-A and the SSC-B is described in the SSC manuals.

3.2.3 BoL Handling Module

The BoL Handling module is responsible for printing the Bill of Lading (BoL). When transaction data from a connected device is received and the print transaction function of the device is enabled, the data, including the applicable engineering units, is immediately printed resulting in a BoL. This print action starts automatically without human intervention. The BoL is printed for custody transfer when a product from storage tanks has been transferred to other parties. For this reason, all Fusion4 Portal modules are W&M compliant and approved by a notified body.

The transaction data, including the applicable engineering units, is stored immediately after receipt on the hard disk. The data is stored and protected in such a way that it can be used later on for an W&M compliant printout provided that the transaction data comes from a W&M approved device. Once the transaction data is successfully retrieved and stored, the connected device is notified.

3.2.4 Monitor Module

When a transaction is completed, the transaction, including the date and time of completion, is displayed in the Monitor module. Furthermore, this module enables users to view the details of one or more transactions. In case of a Single Stream Controller for Additive Injection (SSC-A) users can view a list of transaction data; in case of a 1010 CB or a Single Stream Controller for Blending (SSC-B) users can view the Bill of Lading.

3.2.5 Print On Demand Module

Transaction data stored on the hard disk can be viewed and printed with the Print On Demand module. This module enables users to search for a specific transaction or to search for one or more transactions that were completed and stored on a specific date or within a specific period.

Subsequently, the details of one or more transactions can be viewed and/or printed. In case of a Single Stream Controller for Additive Injection (SSC-A) the printout is a list of transaction data; in case of a 1010 CB or a Single Stream Controller for Blending (SSC-B) the printout is a Bill of Lading.

3.2.6 OPC Server Module

Fusion4 Portal features an OPC Server module named Fusion4 that communicates with the 1010CB devices. Fusion4 offers OPC connectivity with OPC clients to read, subscribe and write values to the 1010CB device to achieve the required workflow at the terminals. An example of an OPC client is a Terminal Automation System (TAS). Fusion4 scans the 1010CB devices continuously to provide real time values and the current state of the 1010CB devices.

CHAPTER 6 CONFIGURATION

The Fusion4 Portal Configuration module is the configuration tool of Fusion4 Portal. This tool enables you to:

Create and maintain a visual representation of a site and site database to support 1010 CBs, Single Stream Controllers for Additive Injection (SSC-As) and Single Stream Controllers for Blending (SSC-Bs) (see section 6.2).

Configure the site properties (see section 6.3)

Create, maintain and configure com ports to connect 1010 CBs, SSC-As and SSC-Bs (see section 6.4).

Create and maintain loading bays to group 1010 CBs, SSC-As and SSC-Bs (see section 6.5).

Create, configure and maintain 1010 CBs (see section 6.6).

Create, configure and maintain SSC-As (see section 6.7).

Create, configure and maintain SSC-Bs (see section 6.8).

The configuration of Fusion4 Portal should be carried out by a user with Supervisor, Engineer or Administrator privileges.

Operators who are logged in are allowed to start the Fusion4 Portal Configuration module and have read-only access, i.e. they can read the various parameters but do not have the rights to change them.
