Install the Keyhole Fabric Clips
IMPORTANT: Vignette® specialty shapes can be mounted on the inside of the window casement only.
CAUTION: Handle the fabric carefully throughout the installation process.
■ Clear a flat, clean workspace.
■ Insert and center both keyhole fabric clips into the slots in the plastic support. The plastic support is located rear of the top fold.
■ Put the shade aside with the front side of the fabric facing up.
Install the Mount Screws
■ Locate and mark the top center of the window casement. One method is to use a plumb line, as shown.
➤ Measure the bottom sill and divide in two to locate the center. Mark this location.
➤ Move the plumb line until the bob aligns with the center mark on the sill, then mark the location on the top sill.
IMPORTANT: Locating the exact center is very important for the shade to hang level and evenly in the window.
■ Mark the screw holes.
➤ Hold the shade up to the window and align the center mark on the back of the shade to the mark at the center of the top sill.
➤ The minimum mounting depth for screw placement is 1". Mounting depth for a fully recessed shade is up to 27/8" depending upon fabric type.

Install the Specialty Shape
■ Install the shade onto the mounting screws.
➤ Hold the shade up to the window casement with the keyhole on the fabric clips to the back.
➤ Slide the keyhole of each fabric clip over the adjacent screw head.

Adjust the Specialty Shape
The shade should be level and hang straight for the best appearance.
To Level or Straighten
■ Slide the fabric clips in the slots to straighten the shade. Be careful not to detach the shade from the clips.
■ Adjust the mounting screw to raise or lower the corresponding side of the shade.
Arch, Extended Arch Support Clips (Optional)
Some shades may need additional support on the edges. Use the support clips, as needed.
■ Mark the location.
➤ The support clip needs to be located 1/2 to 2/3 of the distance between the plastic support and the bottom of the arched portion of the shade, as illustrated.
➤ Mark this location on the window casement.
■ Mount the support clip.
➤ Mount the support clip on the mark using one screw. Adjust the position so the flat front of the support clip (behind the slider portion) aligns with the front fabric panel.

■ Center the brackets on your marks and mark the screw hole locations.
➤ The minimum mounting depth for screw placement is 15/8". Mounting depth for a fully recessed shade is up to 27/8" depending upon fabric type.
IMPORTANT: The front edges of the installation brackets must be level and aligned to each other.

CARE

Removing the Shade
■ For shapes without a headrail: Slide the shade forward at the keyhole fabric clips.
■ For angle shades: Unscrew the tab screw on each bracket to release the headrail.
Cleaning Procedures
Hunter Douglas Vignette® Modern Roman Shades are made of anti-static, dust-resistant fabrics that repel dirt and dust. For most fabrics, the following cleaning options are available.
Dusting
■ Regular light dusting with a feather duster is all the cleaning needed in most circumstances.
Vacuuming
■ Use a hand-held vacuum with low suction for more thorough dust removal.
Compressed Air / Hair Dryer (Cool Setting)
■ Blow dirt and debris from within the fabric folds using clean, compressed air.
Spot-Cleaning
Spot clean using a sponge or delicate cloth, warm distilled water, and a mild soap solution.
Handle with care as you would any fine fabric.
■ Dab the spot with the dampened sponge or cloth until it is removed. Rubbing alcohol or non-oil-based baby wipes may be used on more stubborn stains. Do not rub the fabric.
■ Allow the shade to dry in the completely closed/lowered position.

CARE
13
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Vignette® Modern Roman Shades can be ultrasonically cleaned by a professional.
CAUTION: Do not ultrasonically clean the headrail fabric.
■ Specify that a mild detergent solution be used.
■ Never immerse the fabric-covered headrail into the solution.
■ Allow the shade to dry in the completely closed/lowered position.
Injection/Extraction Cleaning
Vignette Modern Roman Shades can be cleaned by a professional using the injection/extraction method of deep cleaning.
CAUTION: Do not use the injection/extraction method of deep cleaning on the headrail fabric.
■ Specify the dry cleaning method only.
■ Pretreat heavy stains.
■ Allow the shade to dry in the completely closed/lowered position.
Steaming
CAUTION: Do not steam the fabric on the headrail.
■ Steam the face fabric from the bottom to the top, making sure to get steam under each fabric fold. Be careful not to saturate the fabric with steam.
■ Only the face side of the shades should be steamed, not the back liner.
■ Allow the shade to dry in the fully lowered position.
■ In lieu of steaming, commercially available wrinkle release sprays may be used. Only the face side of the shades should be sprayed, not the back liner. Be sure to allow the shade to dry in the fully lowered position.
A Note on Textiles
As with all textiles, Vignette fabrics are subject to some inherent variations in the fabric weave. Subtle dye-lot variations, puckering, or wrinkling fall within textile industry standards and should be considered as normal, acceptable quality. These characteristics are not usually visible from the front or rear, but may be visible from a side angle. Additionally, there will be slight differences in pattern alignment from the fabric on the rails to the fabric of the shade, which do not detract from the product’s appeal.
Variations in color pattern are unique characteristics that contribute to the classic beauty of the shade.
