Configuration Checker• A utility that will
analyze the system and report if configuration changes need to be made prior to installation.
• After downloading, execute ConfigChecker.bat to launch the utility.
• For more information on the Configuration Checker, click on SORT.

Launch installation by selecting Complete/Custom.

Enter your license key or use the evaluation key

Enter permanent license keys or use the 2-month evaluation key to continue installation.
License Keys can be updated after installation to replace evaluation keys or to introduce new options into an existing installation.
An evaluation key should only be used in a lab environment.

Storage Foundation Options include the optional features for Storage Foundation for Windows.
Global Cluster Option allows two or more clusters to be linked together and provides the ability to fail over applications between geographically distributed clusters.
Database Agents control SQL and Oracle databases.
Application Agents control Exchange 2003 and higher and SharePoint 2010.

Hardware Replication Agents manage supported hardware replication devices.
EV Cluster Setup Wizard puts EV under cluster control
Symantec Trusted Certificates allows for Driver Signing during installations.
Replace Disk Management Snap-In replaced Windows Logical Disk Manager to the Veritas Enterprise Administrator GUI.
Client Components are the GUI tools to manage the storage and the cluster. This includes the VEA and the Cluster Manager – Java Console.

A dialog box may be presented as a reminder that the Symantec Product Installer will reboot the systems.

The Symantec Product Installer begins the installation.

The Symantec Product Installer completes installation.

Scroll through the Post-install Report for details on all packages installed on all systems.

After installation is successful, select Next to view the Post-installation summary.

Reboot the local system to complete the installation.

Troubleshooting
If the installation of Storage Foundation for Windows experiences a failure, you should perform the following steps:1. Write down the exact error that is displayed.
2. Search Symantec’s Knowledge Base located on the Symantec Enterprise Support website at http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=home.
3. If no KB articles to address the issue are found, Search or post the issue on Symantec’s Support Forums.

articles to address the issue, clear the error, exit the installation, and run the Symantec VxExplorer log gathering utility to capture all of the necessary files including the Symantec Product Installer logs.
