Installation of Oracle RDBMS(11.2.0.2): ================================ Export TMP and TMPDIR to appropriate location so that you don’t run out of temp space during installation. Please unset NLS_LANG_SEMANTICS. Make sure to start your x-term environment. Make a stage directory for the database software. Copy all zip files to this directory. Unzip all files in this directory. Next cd database and do the following. Note: If the home of your oracle is “/oracle” and the base is “/oracle” you will get the error user home cannot be same as the oracle base. $ ./runInstaller Follow screens shot suggested shots

Choose Install database software only. Then click Next

Choose Single Instance database installation then click Next.

Fill in Oracle Base and Software Location then click Next.

Key the desired oraInventory location and group name dba. You will not get this screen if you have did a previous oracle install.

After the running of root.sh please click OK.

Please make sure to have your ORACLE_HOME set cd ../client run ./runInstaller

Verify the $ORACLE_HOME Click Next

In order to run the DBUA without issue the Instant Client must be uninstalled. Login as oracle user. Run the ./runInstaller from $ORACLE_HOME/oui/bin. Click Deinstall Products button from Oracle Universal Installer menu.

Click Deinstall Products button from Oracle Universal Installer menu.

Scroll down under Oracle Client and select Oracle Instant Client 11.2.0.2.0. Then, click Remove button.

Choose Yes.

Once the product is removed, select Close to exit.

Choose Yes. For HPUX Itanuim apply patch p10302203_112020_HPUX-IA64.zip from ftp.usg.edu in banner/prod/oracle/hpux_ia64/11g Please now go to Upgrade RDBMS 10204 to 11202 DBUA.
