Disconnect power at fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing. 2. Do not mount in hazardous locations, or near gas or electric heaters. 3. Do not let power cords touch hot surface. 4. Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not be subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel. 5. The use of accessory equipment not recommend by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition. 6. Do not use this equipment for other than intended use. 7. All servicing should be performed by a qualified personnel only. 8. Allow battery to charge for 24 hours before first use. MAINTENANCE Replace batteries if unit indicates a two-blink red fault code. Test according to local code OPERATION Once connected, the unit should show a green LED. Press the test button and the LED’s will illuminate. Release the test button and the LED’s will turn off, and the test button will return to green TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE If LED’s or LED indicator does not illuminate, check the following; 1. Check AC supply wiring. 2. Check to ensure battery is properly connected. 3. Ensure unit is allowed to charge for 24 hours for proper emergency operation. 4. If none of these correct the problem, contact Tech. Support for assistance. LUMINAIRE ON/OFF CONTROL There are 2 modes for on/off control within the unit; 1. Standard control by use of a photo-sensor under the following conditions; - ambient light level<10x, unit will come on automatically -ambient light level >30LX, unit will turn off This mode can be disabled for wall switch control by removing the jumper between terminal 1 and 2 (see Fig. 4) 2. Photo-sensor and Passive Infra-red(PIR)/ motion detect mode. -ambient light level <10LX, or motion is detected, unit will come on for 2 minutes automatically When AC power is lost, the unit will come on for 90 minutes of emergency operation. The PIR/motion detector operation cannot be overridden.

TO OWNER AFTER INSTALLATION

When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:• To avoid the possibility of electric shock, turn off power supply before installation or servicing.• Review the diagrams thoroughly before installation.• All electrical connections must be in accordance with the NEC and local codes. A quali ed electrician should do all the work.• Do not let power supply cords touch hot surfaces.• Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.• Equipment should be mounted in locations where it will not be readily subject to tampering by unauthorized personnel.• The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the original manufacturer may cause an unsafe condition.• Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.• All servicing should be performed by quali ed personnel only.

NOTE: Allow battery to charge for 24 hours before rst use.

SURFACE MOUNTING1. Separate front cover from back plate with a at blade screwdriver. Open from top slot rst and then from side slots gently (see Figure 2)2. Remove knock out hole in the center of the back plate. Remove knock out slots on the back plate that correspond to the size of the junction Box.3. Feed AC supply leads through the center hole in the back plate. Then make the proper electrical connections. See electrical connections section for proper instructions. Cap off unused hot lead.4. Mount back plate to junction box with provided #8-32×0.875” screws (see Figure 1).5. Attach battery connector and power connector.6. Attach front cover to back plate (securely snaps into place).7. Supply power and test the unit.

SURFACE CONDUIT FEED1. Separate front cover from back plate with a at blade screwdriver. Open from top slot rst and then from side slots gently (see Figure 2).2. Unscrew the pipe plug from top of back plate.3. Secure back plate to wall. Feed conduit into conduit entry opening (see Figure 3). Secure with appropriate hardware (not provided).4. Make the proper supply lead connections. See Electrical connections section for proper instructions. Cap off unused hot lead.5. Attach battery connector and power connector.6. Attach front cover to back plate.7. Supply power and test the unit.

INSTALLATION

1. Use flat blade screwdriver in slots on each side of unit to pry front assy. from back-plate.(see Fig. 1)

2. Remove appropriate knockout on backplate for mounting along with center hole for wiring access.

3. Feed building wires through the center hole, secure back-plate to J-Box with screws provided.

4. Connect the unit wires to building power supply wires using the wire-nuts provided. White wire to Neutral, black wire to Hot lead(120-277V), and green to house ground.Feed the connected wires and wire-nuts back into j-box through back-plate(see Fig. 3).

5. Locate battery connector and plug into the PCB connector labeled Battery.

6. If the unit has a heater, reference the Heater Pad Connection Instruction sheet.

7. Locate the front assy. over the back-plate and snap the housing onto the back-plate.

8. Restore AC power and press the test button, LEDs should illuminate.

WALL SWITCH CONTROL IN AC MODEIf the unit is supplied with a photo-sensor, the slide switch will

be set for photosensor control from the factory.For wall switch operation;1. Remove the jumper between terminals #1 and #2, and

connect the switched HOT lead to #2.2. Slide the switch to the the opposite side for switch control.3. If the unit includes a PIR motion detector, the unit will not

have the slide switch.
