1. Introduction Thank you for purchasing “ScanSnap Superior Upgrade” product. So far ScanSnap has been going through from fi-4110EOX2, fi-5110EOX and fi-5110EOX2, applying new functions and additional bundle software. This is an extensional program for the customers who purchased ScanSnap fi-5110EOX to realize the new functions that have been applied up to ScanSnap fi-5110EOX2 in your product. Applying the ScanSnap Upgrade in your product adds new functions and allows you easier and more convenient use. The ScanSnap Superior Upgrade product includes the following software that will be of service to you.

• CardMinder V2.0 Allows you to manage business card data scanned by the ScanSnap as a database using OCR technology.

• PDF Thumbnail View Enables you to view PDF files in thumbnails on the Explorer.

• ScanSnap Organizer Enables you to view and organize the scanned documents.

Depending on the models, some of them may have already been installed. Confirm it with the manuals, the Getting Started Guide, or the Operator’s Guide come with the purchased product. For the details of usage and the differences between the models are described in the “ScanSnap Upgrade User’s Guide” included in the CD-ROM, be sure to read them before you start using the product.

2. Preparation

3. Installation

Install the program following the instructions below.

When using Windows® 2000 or Windows® XP, log on as a user with “Administrator” privilege.

(1) Insert “ScanSnap Superior Upgrade CD-ROM” in the drive.

The following screen appears.

This screen may not appear when the “Auto play” setting of your PC is disabled. In this case, run “Setup.exe” of this CD-ROM directly using the “Explore” or “My computer”.

(2) Click [Install Products] button in “ScanSnap Setup” screen.

(3) “Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for ScanSnap” screen appears. Then click [Next] button.

(4) “License Agreement” screen appears. Please read the “License Agreement.” If you agree with them, click the [Yes] button.

(5) In the “Choose Destination Location” screen, choose the installation directory and click the [Next] button.

(6) Select an installation option among “Typical (recommended)”, “Compact” and “Custom” in “Setup Type” screen and click [Next] button.

(7) In the “Start Copying Files” screen, check the files that will be installed and click the [Next] button.

(8) After the installation is finished, the “InstallShield Wizard Complete” screen will be displayed. Then click the [Finish] button.

The installation is completed

For the details of usage, refer to the “ScanSnap Upgrade User’s Guide” included in the CD-ROM.

Le programme actuellement proposé a été conçu à l’intention de tous nos clients possédant un scanneur ScanSnap fi-5110EOX. En effet, le ScanSnap Superior Upgrade a pour fonction de vous installer certaines fonctionnalités déjà exploitées par les utilisateurs du ScanSnap fi-5110EOX2. Après avoir lancé le ScanSnap Superior Upgrade (ou mise à niveau complète pour ScanSnap), vous bénéficierez de toutes les nouvelles fonctions qui vous permettront une utilisation simple et pratique de votre scanneur. Le ScanSnap Superior Upgrade contient les produits suivants :

• CardMinder V2.0 Programme doté de la technologie ROC (reconnaissance optique de caractères) pour une meilleure gestion des données des cartes de visites numérisées à l’aide de ScanSnap.

• PDF Thumbnail View Programme qui vous permettra de visualiser vos fichiers PDF sous la forme de vignettes depuis l’Explorateur.

• ScanSnap Organizer Programme qui vous permettra de visualiser et d’organiser les données des documents numérisés.

Selon le modèle qui est en votre possession, certains des programmes précités sont peut-être déjà installés dans votre système. Veuillez consulter les Instructions préliminaires ainsi que les Guides d’utilisation de vos produits. Avant d’effectuer toute mise à niveau, nous vous recommandons de lire attentivement le Guide de l’utilisateur pour la mise à niveau de ScanSnap disponible sur le CD-ROM, pour en savoir plus sur le modèle de votre ScanSnap.

3. Lancement de la mise à niveau Installez le programme en respectant les instructions suivantes :

Si votre système d’exploitation est WindowsMD 2000 ou WindowsMD XP, veuillez ouvrir une session en tant qu’utilisateur avec des privilèges d’Administrateur.

(1) Insérez le ScanSnap Upgrade CD-ROM dans le lecteur.

La boîte de dialogue suivante s’ouvre :

Si la fonction « Auto play » de votre système est désactivée, cette fenêtre risque de ne pas s’ouvrir automatiquement. Dans ce cas, veuillez directement lancez « Setup.exe » du CD-ROM depuis l’Explorer ou le Poste de travail.

(2) Dans la fenêtre ScanSnap Setup, cliquez sur le bouton [Installer les produits].

(3) La boîte de dialogue « Bienvenue dans InstallShield Wizard de ScanSnap Manager » s’ouvre. Cliquez sur le bouton [Suivant].

(4) Le Contrat de licence vous est présenté. Veuillez lire le contrat dans son intégralité. Si vous en acceptez les clauses, cliquez sur le bouton [Oui].

(5) Dans la boîte de dialogue « Choisissez l’emplacement cible », spécifiez le répertoire de votre choix puis cliquez sur le bouton [Suivant].

(6) Dans la boîte de dialogue « Type d’installation », choisissez l’installation de votre choix parmi : Standard (recommandée), Compacte ou Personnalisée, puis cliquez sur le bouton [Suivant].

(7) Dans la boîte de dialogue « Démarrer la copie des fichiers », vérifiez les fichiers qui seront installés puis cliquez sur le bouton [Suivant] pour commencer l’installation.

(8) L’installation terminée, la boite de dialogue « Install Shield Wizard Terminé » s’ouvre. Cliquez sur le bouton [Terminer].

L’installation est complète

N’hésitez pas à consulter le Guide pour la mise à niveau de ScanSnap disponible dans le CD-ROM. ( [Documents] → [ScanSnap Manager ] )

Dieses Programm wurde für Kunden entworfen, die den ScanSnap fi-5110EOX erworben haben, um Ihnen die neuen Zusatzfunktionen der neuen ScanSnap Generation zur Verfügung zu stellen. Sie können also mit diesem Programm Ihren ScanSnap auf den neusten Stand aufrüsten. Mit diesem Programm werden Ihrem ScanSnap neue Funktionen hinzugefügt, die Ihnen erweiterte Möglichkeiten und eine noch einfachere Bedienung gewährleisten. Das ScanSnap Superior Upgrade enthält zusätzlich folgende Software und Anwendungen:

• CardMinder V2.0 Zur Verwaltung von mit ScanSnap erfassenten Visitenkartendaten mit Hilfe der OCR Technologie (Zeichenerfassung).

3. Installation Bitte installieren Sie das Programm, wie im Folgenden beschrieben ist.

Wenn Sie Windows® 2000 oder Windows® XP verwenden, loggen Sie sich bitte als Benutzer mit “Administrator” Privilegien ein.

(1) Legen Sie die “ScanSnap Superior Upgrade CD-ROM” in Ihr Laufwerk ein.

Der folgende Bildschirm erscheint.

Dieser Bildschirm erscheint nicht, wenn die “Auto-Play” Einstellung Ihres PCs deaktiviert ist. Führen Sie in diesem Fall bitte “Setup.exe” auf der CD-ROM direkt über den “Explorer” oder “Arbeitsplatz” aus.

(2) Klicken Sie auf die [Software installieren] Taste im “ScanSnap Setup” Bildschirm.

(3) Der [Willkommen bei InstallShield Wizard für ScanSnap] Bildschirm wird angezeigt. Klicken Sie dann auf die [Weiter] Taste.

(4) Die “Lizenzvereinbarung” wird angezeigt. Gehen Sie bitte die Details der Lizenzvereinbarung durch. Wenn Sie diese anerkennen, klicken Sie auf die [Ja] Taste.

(5) Im “Zielpfad wählen” Bildschirm wählen Sie den Installationspfad und klicken dann auf die [Weiter] Taste.

(6) Wählen Sie eine Installationsoption aus “Standard (empfohlen)”, “Minimal” und “Benutzer” im “Setuptyp” Bildschirm aus, und klicken dann auf die [Weiter] Taste.

(7) Im “Kopiervorgang starten” Bildschirm, überprüfen Sie bitte die zu installierenden Dateien und klicken dann auf die [Weiter] Taste.

(8) Nach Abschluss der Installation wir der “InstallShield Wizard abgeschlossen” Bildschirm angezeigt. Klicken Sie auf die [Fertigstellen] Taste.

Die Installation ist somit abgeschlossen

3. Installazione Installare il programma seguendo le istruzioni seguenti.

Quando si usa Windows® 2000 o Windows® XP, entrare come utente con i diritti di “Amministratore”.

(1) Inserire “ScanSnap Superior Upgrade CD-ROM” nel drive.

Appare il seguente schermo.

Questo schermo può non apparire quando l’impostazione "Auto play" del PC è inabile. In questo caso, avviare “Setup.exe” di questo CD-ROM direttamente usando “Explore” o “Risorse del computer”.

(2) Fare click sul tasto [Installa prodotti] nello schermo “ScanSnap Setup”.

(3) Appare lo schermo “InstallShield Wizard per ScanSnap”. Poi fare click sul tasto [Avanti].

(4) Appare lo schermo “Contratto di licenza”. Leggere il "Contratto di licenza." Se si è d’accordo, fare click sul tasto [Si].

(5) Nello schermo "Scegliere la posizione di destinazione", Scegliere l’installazione directory e fare click sul tasto [Avanti].

(6) Selezionare un’opzione di installazione tra “Tipica (raccomandata)”, “Compatta” e “Personalizzata” nello schermo “Tipo di installazione” e fare click sul tasto [Avanti].

(7) Nello schermo "Inzia a copiare i file", controllare i file che saranno installati e fare click sul tasto [Avanti].

(8) Dopo che l’installazione è finita, lo schermo "InstallShield Wizard Completata" apparirà. Poi fare click sul tasto [Fine].

3. Instalación Instale el programa siguiendo las siguientes instrucciones.

Si usa Windows® 2000 o Windows® XP, ingrese como usuario que tenga los privilegios administrativos.

(1) Inserte el “ScanSnap Superior Upgrade CD-ROM” en la unidad de CD.

La siguiente ventana aparecerá.

Si esta ventana no se visualiza después de haber insertado el Setup CD-ROM en la unidad de CD-ROM, haga doble clic el ícono de "Setup.exe" en la unidad de CD-ROM utilizando Explorador.

(2) Haga clic en el botón [Instalar productos] en la ventana “ScanSnap Setup”.

(3) La ventana “Bienvenido a InstallShield Wizard” aparecerá. Haga clic en el botón [Siguiente].

(4) La ventana "Contrato de licencia" es visualizada. Examine los detalles del "Contrato de licencia." Si está de acuerdo con los detalles, haga clic el botón de [Sí].

(5) En la pantalla de "Elegir ubicación de destino", seleccione el directorio de instalación, y haga clic el botón de [Siguiente].

(6) Seleccione una opción de instalación entre “Típica (recomendada)”, “Compacta” y “Personalizada” en la ventana “Tipo de instalación” y haga clic en el botón [Siguiente].

(7) En la ventana "Iniciar la copia de archivos", examine los archivos que serán instalados, y haga clic el botón [Siguiente].
