Way back in 1959, when I was a student, I would pass by a pilot plant for the manufacture of anti-Tuberculosis drug. I would boldly tell my friends then that my dream was to build one day a similar organization. During the next 38 years since then, I built Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, which has become the No. 1 pharmaceutical company in India. Dream, get inspired, and achieve.

Even though we are the number one pharma company in India, globally we occupy only 45th
position. You can imagine how far we have to go if we have to become one among the top 10 in the world. -Striving for continuous progress

Later in the 1970s, I took the opportunity to manufacture bulk drugs and for the first time, we also shared the job with other formulators. This made drugs available to the common man at a price he could afford and not at a price the multi-national companies wanted to sell.- Innovative thinking

My suggestion to all of you is that when you have a goal, and when you are obsessed with it, go after that. Don't sit back relaxed and wait for the next opportunity. You need to go there and try to be a front runner in the field that you have selected. - On pursuing one's goals
