August 7th is kick off day for passport sales for the Country Roads Shop Hop. Check the back page for all the details. The Row by Row Experience is now in full swing, so stop in to see our sample and pickup your free pattern.
As most of you know, I’ve been actively involved in the annual Relay For Life. It is a fundrais-ing event sponsored by the American Cancer Society and held at the Somerset Athletic Field. For the seventh year, I’ve made a queen size quilt and donated it to the Relay for raffle ticket sales. On Saturday, June 21st, Donna
Summer is finally here! Tanner from Cresson was drawn as the winner of “Flower Girl”. She pur-chased her ticket at The Sewing Box during a visit. Congratulations, Donna!
Quilt Market in Pittsburgh was amaz-ing as always. Diane and I had the opportunity to meet many of the fab-ric and pattern designers. Nancy
Halvorsen with Art To Heart was gra-cious enough to pose for a photo with us. Her new book and fabric series Christ-mas, Pure & Simple is just beautiful! We’ve come home with an amazing number of great ideas and projects to “wow” you.
The Fabric Rack
Wilmington’s Harvest Time

The Woods. This is the per-
fect start to a throw for your
country décor or a man cave.
Henry Glass brings a snow-
man smile with their collec-
tion called Holiday Cheer.
It
takes
aqua,
lime,
and
red
to
bring an adorable collection
of winter time prints. Come
see them all!
Moda has an amazing lineup
for the upcoming seasons.

ter Wonderland,

Woods, Pine Fresh, &
Winterlude are all on dis-
play and awaiting your in-
spection.

Rulers, rulers, & more rulers!
Can any quilter ever really have
enough??? One of my customers
recently told me they were orga-
nizing their ruler inventory and
had over 30! But, when in class on
Saturday, she added one more.
There’s just something about hav-
ing the “right size” to make your
project quicker, easier, and to en-
sure an accurate cut.
A new addition to
our Creative Grids
inventory is the 60°
Equilateral Triangle
for a 2 1/2” strip. It
has been featured
recently in several
magazines as a cool
tool for triangle cut-
ting.
Also for ruler stability True
Cut has a great
product called
TrueGrips.
They are clear,
peel-off circles
that stick to the
underside of your rulers.
A new pattern series has been
added to our inventory-The
Wooden Bear. These are
simple appliqués for tea
towels, clothing, placemats;
you get the idea.
The Quilters’ Travel Com-
panion has long been labeled
the most com-
plete cross-
country guide
for quilters. It
is published
every two
years. The 2014/2015 edition
has just been released and is
available for sale now!
There are many new patterns
in stock at The Sewing Box. If
you’re looking for an idea to
get a jump start on the change
of seasons, look no further. At
left are some
of the great
new patterns
available.
