Starting from Manama, Bahrain and ending in Muscat, Oman, the route will traverse the Arabian Peninsula with Six Senses Zighy Bay as the first stop entering Oman. Touring through four nations and seven marinas, the regatta sails over 1,408 kilometres in only 15 days, modelled after the internationally renowned Tour de France à la Voile, one of the world’s most famous offshore sailing events. EFG Bank Sailing Arabia – The Tour, was established by Oman Sail in 2011 to promote one of the region’s fastest growing sports and reignite the Gulf’s rich maritime heritage. Six Senses Zighy Bay will host the sailors and crew from Thursday, 21st February until departure from port on Saturday, 23rd February, 2013. The stopover culminates with an in-port race and prize-giving event directly on the beach of the resort in true Omani hospitality. General Manager Axel Jarosch raves, “The leg from Ras al Khaimah to Zighy Bay is one of the toughest of the race. A delectable wine pairing and dinner awaited guests, including a four course meal, with the finale seated at outside garden of the Retreat. Beginning in the Organic Garden with an aperitif of Domaine Drouhin's Chablis Vaudon and paired with canapés, guests were next escorted to the GCC's only saltwater pool for a smoked sheary fish panacotta starter, a late-harvest inspired first course of corn-fed chicken terrine, leading up to a stewed-veal navarin main course and passion fruit crème brûlée with tamarind salsa dessert.

2013 Sailing Arabia will again Port in Zighy

Six Senses Zighy Bay announces its third collaboration with Oman Sail’s EFG Bank Sailing Arabia – the Tour 2013. Starting from Manama, Bahrain and ending in Muscat, Oman, the route will traverse the Arabian Peninsula with Six Senses Zighy Bay as the first stop entering Oman. Exploratory Drouhin Wine Dinner

On Tuesday, 4th December, an adults-only, progressive dining experience was hosted at the resort. A delectable wine pairing and dinner awaited guests, including a four course meal, with the finale seated at outside garden of the Retreat. Beginning in the Organic Garden with an aperitif of Domaine Drouhin's Chablis Vaudon and paired with canapés, guests were next escorted to the GCC's only saltwater pool for a smoked sheary fish panacotta starter, a late-harvest inspired first course of corn-fed chicken terrine, leading up to a stewed-veal navarin main course and passion fruit crème brûlée with tamarind salsa dessert.

Marhaba Michel and Halil ~ Beverage Manager and Mâitre d’

Two very talented new hosts have joined the resort’s award-winning Culinary Team. Please welcome Michal Novak, Beverage Manager and Halil Asar, Mâitre d’ at the Middle East’s Best Restaurant* Sense on the Edge. Along with their arrivals, we also add two nationalities to the hosts of Zighy Bay, as Michal hails from the Czech Republic and Halil is a Turkish-born, Dutch Citizen. Said Isaline Goy, Executive Assistant Manager of Michel and Halil’s arrival, “These two fine gentlemen bring additional expertise to entertain, educate and guide our hosts and guests through gastronomic bliss. We are delighted to welcome them to our piece of paradise.”

Executive Chef Steven Wilson Introduces New Menus at Spice Market and In Villa Dining

Exciting news from here in Zighy Bay! Executive Chef Steven Wilson has just launched our two newest menus in Spice Market, the resort’s Arabic restaurant, and In Villa Dining. This follows the mid-October launch of the new menu in Summer House, the resort’s bistro.

Chef's highlights include the crunchy melted brie salad, coconut tuna fillet, beetroot hummus bil lahm and laban ummo. "Both menus are designed for a comfortable eating style using bright Arabic flavours and fresh ingredients from the organic garden and intimate farms," states Steven. "The Team and I spent hours sampling and preparing cuisine from throughout the region and even took home-grown recipes and added Zighy twists. I am very proud of what we've created, and I trust the excitement will effuse onto our guests's palates during their culinary journey."

The GCC’s Only Resort-based Saltwater Pool is Now Open at Six Senses Zighy Bay!

The latest addition to the resort’s exceptional facilities is the newly created Saltwater Pool, located at the south end of the resort, adjacent to the Shua Shack beachside dining area. As part of the resort’s sustainability and wellness practices, the pool will serve as a location for upcoming resort activities, group events and festivities. Of the pool’s opening, Axel Jarosch, General Manager enthuses, “We are the first in the region to offer such an experience to our guests. This is a perfect example of our expertise in crafting exceptional guest experiences. The possibilities are nearly endless at what we can do for our guests when we put our minds forward.”

• Measures 37 x 34 metres in length and additional family area measuring 13 x 9 metres.

• Maximum depth of 1.2 metres in adult section and .6 metres in family area.

• Mineral concentration of 5o ppm (approximately 15 – 20%, by comparison to 27% mineral concentration of Jordan’s Dead Sea and 4 – 8% ).

• Minerals include sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium and sulphate.

• Water source is from the initial stage of the resort’s reverse osmosis (RO) water plant.

• No cleaning chemicals are necessary to treat the pool water; ensuring a healthy and all-natural swimming source for guests.
