As part owners of the building, the shareholders of JMF felt that it was im-portant from the beginning of the de-sign and construction planning phas-es to do the best they could to place a “green” building in this beautiful site along the Black Warrior river. The building is the first and only Tus-caloosa area building to be certified by LEED. There are only seven Gold LEED

certified buildings in the state and only a few are owned by private businesses. Deciding to build “green” added to the initial cost of the building but the energy efficient features and the im-proved indoor and outdoor environ-ment are expected to more than pay for themselves, while providing a work environment where JMF can better serve our clients.
