Connexity: What Your Attendees Really Crave at Your Meetings
Connexity is where community and connecting intersect, the two things your attendees are craving! Meeting Planners need to be in the connexity business--fostering connections and building communities so their live meeting can become the new town square for your global village. Learn how to transform your meetings to create "watering holes" where your villagers (attendees) can come to foster "Connexity."
Learner Outcomes:
Discover creative and budget-friendly ideas and solutions to integrate throughout your meeting design guaranteed to deliver connection and community.
Understand why your attendees are craving connexity, now more than ever, and ways you can respond to deliver what they need.
Learn how to add more value to your meetings by intentionally designing networking opportunities before, during and after the live event.
Sarah Michel, CSP, is a nationally recognized professional speaker and facilitator on networking and the creator of the NetWORTHing™ process. She is the Vice President of Professional Connexity for Velvet Chainsaw Consulting helping to create one-of-a-kind meetings that matter. Her vast knowledge of next-generation learning and facilitation skills help design dynamic

and interactive meetings that guarantee more participation, opportunities for networking and peer-to-peer interactions.
Sarah has keynoted and presented concurrent sessions for MPI SEC and WEC, PCMA, NSA, Colorado Meetings Industry Council and CIC CMP Conclave. For more information about Sarah check out www.perfectingconnecting.com

Into the Heart of the Business Value of Meetings
The Meeting Industry exists because it adds value to meetings. We add value by organizing everything that needs to be organized so that meetings can take place. However, changes in the economy and society challenge us to look for new areas where value can be added. In that search, our industry needs to move into fields off the beaten track. The content of meetings is one of the most exciting and promising new fields, because the communicative power of good meetings depends to a large extent on the way the content sets fire to the dialogue. This offers new business opportunities. Traditionally in the meeting industry, the content is owned exclusively by the person or organization who “holds” the meeting, the meeting owner. The meeting owner knows a lot about the content, but often a lot less about how to process the content in the course of the meeting. For that, he or she needs help, which the Meeting Industry should provide. The Meeting Industry is gradually creeping into the Meeting Room, the place where the Business Value of Meetings is created. Are you ready? This session gives you a demonstration of how to give this help by analyzing the content of meetings and finding the ways to make that content attractive, to catch participants’ attention, to fuel the discussion. It uses the ancient educational format of “the Demonstration”. It is inspiring and exchanges knowledge in a direct and visual way.
Learner Outcomes: Know three criteria to judge whether content is attractive
and what can be done to make it more attractive For Suppliers: Understand how to apply these criteria in
their own proposals to clients. For Planners: Understand
3
how to use these criteria to assess the power of one’s own content.
See new business opportunities by adding value to the meetings content.
Overview: This is the 4th Annual South Florida Summit, the Chapter’s largest and most significant educational program of the year.
