Muse Oil & Gas - Egypt
Profile
Muse O&G is a trading and services company based in Egypt working with
world class manufacturers in Malaysia and Europe.
MOG has a broad scope with experienced directors in upstream and
downstream sectors
MOG provide supplies and services in the following areas:
Hydrocarbon Recovery Systems
API Ball/Gate Valves
Production Chemicals
Stimulation Chemicals
Water Treatment Units and Chemicals
Pipe fittings and pipe cleaning pigs
Business Need and Drivers
About 150 billions of cubic meters of natural gas
is flared annually at oil production sites around
the globe.
Flaring gas wastes a valuable energy resource that
could be used to support economic growth and
progress.
It also contributes to climate change by releasing
millions of tons of CO2 emissions.
Additionally, recycled gas used for gas injection
and gas lift includes valuable condensate that can
be separated and sold Separately
Since World bank initiative in 2015 (GGFR ) to
reduce routine flaring, increasing number of oil
operators are considering plans to
reduce/eliminate gas flaring and recover HC.
Current Market Options Several NGL Recovery systems are currently available
in the market.
Vast Majority of the existing systems are based on compression and refrigeration which makes the system:
More complex to setup and maintain (several rotating equipment)
Space and weight demanding (a limitation for offshore platforms)
Normally works at high pressure
Costly
There is an obvious gap in the market for a simpler, cost effective and efficient system that can be used for remote areas, offshore satellites with minimum maintenance and operation hassle
Approach MOG has partnered with a reputable Malaysian
manufacturer to provide first-in-world low pressure NGL recovery systems
The unit is a self-contained, compact system designed to enhance hydrocarbons recovery from associated gases.
At low output pressure: 90% of condensate (C5+) can be recovered and stored in crude oil tanks
If C3 + recovery is required, the recovered hydrocarbon liquid can be pumped to high pressure lines, NGL storage tanks or fractioning system for gas-liquid separation
Using the combination of Expansion Cooling and Evaporative Cooling, the system reduces gas temperatures below sub-zero
The system reduces Greenhouse Gas (CO2) emissions by 20% to 30%.
Resulting in condensate recovery in the region of 30-100 BOPD/MMSCFD of gas depending on the gas composition with recovery efficiency of 80 -90 %
System Overview
Condensate recovery is by lowering the gas temperature to condense the gas using Turbo expander or JT valve along with heat exchangers
To further enhance drop in the temperature, evaporative cooling method is also employed:
Evaporative cooling is achieved by spraying water in the gas stream
The gas from condensate flash vessel is superheated (dry) gas, when fresh water is sprayed into the gas, the water direct contact with gas evaporation occurs.
System set up allows for low inlet pressure (5+ bars). Tie- in upstream flare K.O Drum (e.g Separator output)
