ESOL: Embedded use of Facebook
• We have been using Facebook for a number of years as part of a curricular ICLT innovation project.
• Using Facebook creates an immersive language learning opportunity for these learners and extends learning outside the classroom.
• In 2013-14, we used this as part of the EEP hours for study programme, as this is something we are able to do with learners from Entry 1 upwards to varying degrees.
• At audit, due to the nature of Facebook, this was difficult to quantify and evidence.
• What we are doing differently in 2014-15, is being clearer about specifying the number of hours/ work to be set (as a minimum) in the EEP plan.
