Alain joined in 2000 ELYO, the SUEZ Energy services subsidiary as Vice-President of the Strategy Department. In 2006 he was appointed as Vice-President Technology Innovation at SUEZ corporate. He manages currently the Innovation Department of GDF SUEZ Group.
Adam Scott Head of Design Vision & Conception Nokia
Prior to joining Nokia in 2005, Adam held global brand and experience positions at Orange where he worked on brand strategy, identity, UI, european retail and global sponsorships. At Virgin Atlantic he held design and service positions working on projects including the redesign of the Upper Class interior, seating and service. His main duties imply design director for full spectrum of experiences from product to interiors to user experience, retail, systems and service design. In addition, he has experience on global, regional and local market consumer exploration, research, insight, testing and validation
Jean-Pierre Cescutti Scientific and Innovation Vice President Eramet Graduate from Ecole Polytechnique, Jean-Pierre received his
PhD in Material Sciences and Engineering from Ecole des Mines. He is now working as Scientific and Innovation Vice President for the Eramet group, in charge of promoting technical excellence and innovation. He spent the 5 last years as president of Eramet Research, the principal research center for the Eramet group, boosting its activity by a factor of 3. During his career at the Eramet and the Pechiney group he has had various assignments in many fields including research, manufacturing, product and technology development. He was and continues to be the originator of numerous innovations and breakthroughs either in product,
processes or technology.
Charles Elazar Marketing Director & Acting Business Leader GE Energy Charles attended the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal, Canada
and was graduated with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1980. He then joined GE’s GEDP Program and had assignments with GE Energy in different departments related to Hydro Turbine. Charles undertook graduated courses and obtained a diploma in Management from McGill University in Montreal Canada in 1982. Then he helds different positions from development to design before moving in 1989 to International Sales Manager for Latin America, and South East Asia. In 2000, Charles took the position of E-Business leader for GE Hydro, before moving to Europe early 2001 for GE Industrial. In Europe, he managed the International business. In 2003, he led the Utilities and Key Accounts and in June 2004 he runs Industrial Channel (Vertical Markets, Projects) for Consumer & Industrial – Europe. In 2006 he took the responsibility for South Europe for all the industrial products. In 2009, he took the responsibilities for Marketing and Strategic accounts for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He took on the role of Acting Business Leader in April 2012.
Ricardo Baeza-Yates Vice President Yahoo! Research
Ricardo is VP of Yahoo! Research for EMELA, leading the labs at Barcelona, Spain and Santiago, Chile, since 2006, as well as supervising the lab in Haifa, Israel since 2008. He is also part time Professor at the Dept. of Information and Communication Technologies of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain, since 2005. He obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 1989. He is co-author of the best-seller Modern Information Retrieval textbook, published in 1999 as well as co-author of the 2nd edition of the Handbook of Algorithms and Data Structures, 1991; and co-editor of Information Retrieval: Algorithms and Data Structures, 1992, among more than 300 other publications. He has received Organization of American States award for young researchers in exact sciences (1993) and the CLEI Latin American distinction for contributions to CS in the region (2009). In 2003 he was the first computer scientist to be elected to the Chilean Academy of Sciences. During 2007 he was awarded the Graham Medal for innovation in computing, given by the University of Waterloo to distinguished ex-alumni. In 2009 he was named ACM Fellow and in 2011 IEEE Fellow.
François Bertero Business Program Manager Dow Corning
Francois began his career at Dow Corning in 1986 working as a regional IT manager. In this role he further enhanced the IT infrastructure for the Mediterranean region. In 1990 he moved to the European health care marketing and two years later took over the European marketing leadership position for the medical division. In the next ten years Francois worked in various business program management and marketing positions in Europe and Asia expanding his cross-cultural experience. In 2002 Francois returned to Belgium working as innovation manager and later as a business program manager leveraging his expertise in nurturing and commercializing innovative technologies. He was promoted to global strategic marketing manager for the Business & Technology Incubator in 2011.
Patrik Regardh Head of Strategic Markerting Ericsson
Patrik has been heading up Strategic Marketing for the
Ericsson Group since 2004. In this role he reports to the group CMO and is
focused on market development, industry dynamics and driving strategies
and initiatives for Ericsson’s long term positioning. Patrik has worked for
Ericsson for the past 18 years and has held previous positions within
strategy and business development as well as account management. On
the international record he has had assignments in Brazil, Thailand and
Germany. Prior to joining Ericsson, he worked for Atlas Copco as general
manager for aircraft assembly systems business. Patrik holds a Master of
Science degree from Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm.
Simon Minderhoud Senior Innovation Consultant Philips
Simon has a passion for streamlining innovation processes. He works with Philips and external companies in various industries and governmental agencies. He helps companies to improve business results by increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of their innovation processes. Simon also acts as program manager for the Innovation Excellence program with courses running in the Netherlands, Singapore, Shanghai and Finland. Prior to his consulting career he worked in various jobs for several years in product and systems engineering in the defense electronics industry and professional equipment industries. Over the years Simon has been invited to talk at conferences and he has authored and co-authored a number of publications on fast innovation processes. He has been lecturing on innovation at the University of Eindhoven and the National University of Singapore. He holds a Master of Science degree in aeronautical engineering from Delft University of Technology

Guido Petit Vice President and Treasurer BiR&D (Belgian Industrial Research & Development)
Guido is Vice-President and Treasurer of BiR&D, a cross sectorial association of globally operating industrial companies with major R&D activities in Belgium, aiming at making Belgium a destination of choice for joint industry-academia research and innovation.
He has been a Director at the Chief Scientist Office of Bell Labs, the research arm of Alcatel-Lucent. Since 2004 he was responsible for the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy which is a corporate program to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Alcatel-Lucent’s technological leadership. In this role, he has been instrumental in fostering networking, knowledge sharing, learning and innovation across the boundaries of the organization. He also has been actively involved in boosting innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in the company and was co-responsible for the launch and organization of Entrepreneurial Boot Camps in Belgium - from 2005 onwards - a successful best practice widely promoted and adopted in various locations/regions of Alcatel-Lucent as well as in other large multi-national corporations.
Martin Ertl Chief Innovation Officer Bombardier Transportation
Since July 2008 he is with Bombardier Transportation designing, implementing and running the global innovation management activities. In this function he is responsible for the innovation strategy, the governance of the process along the value chain, a balanced project portfolio, external innovation collaboration with suppliers and academia, the discovery and start-up of new ventures and business ideas and the support/training of the divisions and business unit in generating innovations. Furthermore he is responsible for the global coordination of the R&D and Product Management: By setting up and running project-like R&D activities based on market insights a portfolio of innovative solutions applicable for most customer projects is being created. Finally a re-designed platform and product management approach helps to create
individual products based on highly standardized modules and systems. After finalization of his studies in industrial engineering he joined AUDI AG
in 1996 and worked in several managerial and non-managerial functions covering HR, manufacturing and design until 2004. In parallel he successfully completed an executive MBA in 1999/2000 at the Universities of Augsburg and Pittsburgh. In January 2005 he joined BMW AG as Head of Innovation Impulses covering aspects of scouting and monitoring of promising trends, innovations and technologies outside the automotive business by classical methods as well as intensively using external networks and open innovation methods.
Felix Previdoli Vice President Strategic Projects Lonza Felix is Senior Vice President of Strategic Projects of the Life
Science Ingredients Division at Lonza AG. His responsibilities include integration projects, development of strategies for the different businesses and other strategic projects like investments and acquisitions. Before he took over this responsibility in 2007, I was head of R&D and New Business Development of the division. He has a Master in Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He spent my professional career in the chemical industry with various assignments in manufacturing, marketing, R&D and New Business development.
Mats Nilsson R&D Manager, Technology Development Alfa Laval Mats is located at Alfa Laval Group Headquarters in Lund,
Sweden. Mats holds a Master of Science in Engineering Physics at Institute of Technology LundSweden.His main focus is Laser Physics, especially CO2 lasers, he is a development engineer of laser welded plate type heat exchangers. He was now in charge of developing new heat exchanger technologies/concepts, facilitating brainstorming sessions internally and with customers/subsuppliers. Mats is also the chairman of Innovation Pioneers, an innovation network, promoting implementation of innovation leadership/processes.
Idit Biton Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer SIT
She is a Senior Partner at Systematic Inventive Thinking (SIT) and serves as Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer. She was previously Managing Director of SIT Israel, and responsible for developing various specialties such as SIT Ventures, conflict resolution, and marketing research. Idit is a facilitator and trainer in all aspects of SIT's portfolio. She guest lecture's regularly at various business schools and universities, and is a keynote speaker at innovation conferences and seminars. Idit has personally conducted projects in scores of companies including Bayer, Coca Cola, SAP, Johnson & Johnson, Kodak, and Nestlé, as well as in leading global advertising agencies (McCann-Erickson, BBDO, and others).
Marcel Baron Senior Managing Consultant, Client Value Strategy IBM Global Business Services Marcel Baron joined IBM in 1996. Before joining IBM he held a
number of positions in leading firms in data communications in the Benelux. He has held several marketing leadership positions in IBM Europe Middle East and Africa in the innovative area of emerging business and competitive markets. He has a background and experience in enterprise marketing management. Create new business with development of innovative marketing approaches like the SMART Influencer ECO system. He has a broad experience in the art and science of marketing. With emphasis on concept creation, development and implementation. Sarah Porter Head of Innovation JISC
Sarah’s role is to lead the JISC innovation group which develops strategies for innovation through technology in the further and higher education sectors. Current areas of work include innovative digital infrastructure (linked data, cloud services), research data, environmental sustainability, analytics, digital literacy and the student experience of ICT. She works in partnership with many UK and overseas organizations. Before joining JISC, Sarah worked at the University of Oxford where she ran a learning and research technology team.
