To ensure every student who enters the Vista PEAK Campus

graduates with a high school diploma, college credits and/or

degrees, industry credentials and certifications in order to be

successful in postsecondary and workforce experiences.

Curriculum Exploratory

● Pathway development via PLTW 5th-8th grade: engineering, personal

financial literacy, global economics, environmental studies, computer

programming

● Additional literacy curriculum added to support rigorous reading/writing

standards

● OWL program: After school program where kids learn about computer

programming

Preparatory

● Prep is the only APS school with State Certified PLTW programs: Health

Science & STEM

● Inquiry based / Real World & Relevant Focus

● In 2014 over 100 students earned Microsoft Office Certifications

● In 2014 261 students earned a college credit from Vista PEAK (97%

passing rate)

● Specific focus on students’ social / emotional development & citizenship

ELL Success: Top 5% in the state for growth in 2013 on

the state ACCESS test

Performing Arts: Established Art, Music, Theater, Choir, &

Dance programs

Athletics: Competitive programs with multiple league

championships & state level competition

Multiple clubs & CTSO: HOSA, Creative careers, chess

club, gaming club, GSA, BSA, LSA, Roots & Shoots,

OWL, Future Educators, cheer, Debate, DECA, FBLA,

TSA, Spirit, Japan, International club, knowledge bowl,

S.W.E.A.T, Bison Beat and more coming!!!

Standards, Assessment, and Accountability

● We are using individualized math assessment data (K-

2) to better meet student needs

● Grades K-5: all students are given an individual reading

inventory

● K-5 consistently administered an on-demand writing

assessment (pre and post) measured with a rubric

● Fluid movement (acceleration)

● Implemented a standards referenced grading &

reporting protocols 9-12 aligned with research (4,3,2,1)
