Innovation Action Plan – Field Tarp

Current StateManchester University baseball currently has a field tarp that is not in the best condition. We use this tarp to keep the field dry when it rains so the team can continue as scheduled for practice and games.

The NeedDue to the wear and tear on the tarp it is not successfully doing its job. The tarp currently has multiple holes and is not up to par with the elite field and baseball program.

Cost - $3,779.00 The only cost of this would be the purchase of the tarp $3,779 The players on the team would be involved with putting the new tarp on the field so therefore

we would have no other cost. We already have a tarp roll so there would be no reason to get a new one

Return on Investment The new tarp will allow us to have a more success on keeping water off the field. Not only will this help wear and tear on the field, but will also save future expenses on having to renovations to the infield. On top of that by having a drier field will also save money on using quick dry. This new tarp will last the program a long time, not only will this be a good return on the short term investment but also long term.

Quantifiable Metrics We currently use around 6-8 bags of quick dry this would cut it down to 2-4

o ($15 per bag) instead of $120 per rain day we would only spend $60

I would request that this plan would be seriously considered as something that our team could use next year. A purchase of this will not only allow our field to be in better care but will save time and money for our baseball program.
