    Story-Recitation Category: Boys/GirlsIndividual Duration: 5 Minutes

    A lame man who wanted to have dip in the Holy River Cauvery during

    Thula month took a strenous journey - but he could not make it to

    Mayilaaduthurai before the end of the month - he was one day late

    (i.e. the Tula month ended the day before).

    Nadha Sharma and his wife Anavidyambikai came to this place for

    the Cauvery bath-Thula Snanam. Before they arrive at the place, the

    30 days time (Thulamasa - October - November) expired. They sadly

    stayed at the night worshipping Lord Shiva.

    Lord appeared in their dream and advised them to have the bath

    before sunrise the next day and assured that they would have full

    benefit of theThula Snanam bath. Based on this, the practice of this

    bath continues even now on the first day of Karthikai month. As Lord

    Shiva froze the bath time for His devotee couple, this bath is called

    Mudavan Muzhukku. Mudakku in Tamil means freezing, Muzhukku

    bath.

    1. Otraiya RettayaCompetition Rules

    Type of the Game: Indoor Category: Boys/GirlsGroup Min. 2 Participants Duration: 3 Minutes

    Scientific Reason:

    This game enhances the presumption skills of the child.

    Materials Required:

    Equal number of Tamarind seeds for each players.

    Goal:

    Guess the number of seeds correctly

    How to play:

    1. The game can be played by 2 players.

    2. Each player having 100 (equal number of) tamarind seeds.

    3. Any one of the player will ask the other after took some seed in his first without noticed by the opponent “Otraiya Rettaya?” (Even or Odd?) .

    4. The opponent will answer any one of ottai (odd) or rettai (even).

    5. Then the 1st player will show the seeds in his fist and if its number is even and the 2nd player said rettai then all the seeds will be given to the second player and the second player will start to play by the same way.

    6. And if he says ottai and the number of seeds is even then the first player can keep the seeds himself and play again.

    7. The winner will be the one who have more number of seeds.

    Rules to play:

    Each players will have equal number of seeds while the starting.

    If the player says a wring answer then the turn will goes to the opponent.
