• 860^Construction of Floating Nuclear Power Plants, FNPPs, is currently under way for supplying power in remote regions in the coastal zone, power-generating units as components of nuclear water desalination complexes and for supplying power for marine oil drilling platforms, etc. In this paper the innovative small sized VBER-150 reactor plant, based on the experience in design and operation of marine modular reactors and NPPs with reactors of the VVER type, is reviewed and their neutron-physical characteristics for Thorium based fuel cycles are calculated with the well-known MCNP computational code.
