INGRESS PURPOSE AND BENEFITS
Purpose Associate sending and receiving sections for shared
classes at multiple institutions Automatically perform iterative seat balancing among
institutions sharing a class Automatically send data to the LMS to define/update
sections, persons, and memberships Benefits
Dynamically allocates seats Allows institutions to leverage all Banner functionality Automated processing reduces the need for manual
processing

SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Term Code Definition – Reporting Term
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Part of Term Definition – Reporting Term
No special part of term values are required for use with INGRESS
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Term Code Translations
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Term Code Translations (cont’d)
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Enrollment Status Codes
No special enrollment status codes have been established for integration with INGRESS.
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Registration Status Codes
No special registration status codes have been established for integration with INGRESS.
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Registration Status Codes
No special registration status codes have been established for integration with INGRESS.
Define codes for all parts of term for the reporting term.
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Integration Configuration Settings
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Integration Configuration Settings
If this setting is not defined, all students and instructors must have the “Preferred” flag set on one email address (SPAIDEN, GOAEMAL).
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Integration Partner System Code and Integration Partner System Rules
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Cross Reference Label and Partner Integration Code Translation
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Grade Code Definition
No special grade codes have been established for use with INGRESS.
SETTING UP RULES AND CODES Section Definition
The Integration Partner Code is the key to flagging sections for reporting to INGRESS. It also identifies which sections are sending and which are receiving.
DEFINING SECTIONS, PERSONS, AND MEMBERSHIPS TO INGRESS
Integration Partner Code is the key!
Identifies sections to be processed
All instructors assigned to these sections will be processed
All students with enrollment activity in these sections will be processed
ZSRGDIS – INGRESS Extract Process
DEFINING SECTIONS, PERSONS, AND MEMBERSHIPS TO INGRESS
“When should ZSRGDIS be run?” After defining sections and assigning Integration Partner codes
After any changes have been made to basic section information
After sections are inactivated or reactivated Remove Partner Integration Code (section remains active in
Banner) OR Change section Status field to an inactive code
Once per day prior to LMS data file processing
ZSRGDIS – INGRESS Extract Process
DEFINING SECTIONS, PERSONS, AND MEMBERSHIPS TO INGRESS
Execute ZSRGDIS through Job Submission (GJAPCTL). A population selection can be used to limit person data that is
pulled; however, it must be used EVERY time the process is run.
DEFINING SECTIONS, PERSONS, AND MEMBERSHIPS TO INGRESS ZSRGDIS – INGRESS Extract Process
INGRESS PROCESSING
Occurs automatically at regular intervals throughout the day
(currently every 10 minutes)
Using data extracted by ZSRGDIS, INGRESS will: Read up-to-date enrollment counts from Banner Add new sections in INGRESS Inactivate sections in INGRESS Update section data in INGRESS Associate sending and receiving sections for a shared class, determine remaining
seat count, and allocate 3/4 of the remaining seats equally to all sharing institutions
Update maximum and available seat counts in Banner
Seat Balancing
INGRESS PROCESSING
Seat Balancing
INGRESS PROCESSING
Occurs automatically at regular intervals throughout the day
(currently every 4 hours) Using data extracted by ZSRGDIS, INGRESS will:
Add new students in INGRESS Update student information in INGRESS Update student registrations in INGRESS Update class rosters in INGRESS Stage section, person, and membership data and create xml data files for
loading into the LMS (only once per day)

LOADING INGRESS ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION DATA
Instructors enter attendance verification data through the INGRESS Faculty Console
Data are pushed down to the intermediate tables to await processing by the institution
Banner processing involves 2 GaMod processes: ZSRIAVR and ZHRNOSH
ZSRIAVR – INGRESS Attendance Verification Load
Execute ZSRIAVR through Job Submission (GJAPCTL).
Results: Loads data into temporary tables ZTRNOSH and ZTRNOSS where it is held for later processing by the ZHRNOSH process. Only loads records for absent students.
LOADING INGRESS ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION DATA
LOADING INGRESS ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION DATA ZSRIAVR – INGRESS Attendance Verification Load
INGRESS courses processed by the INGRESS Attendance Verification Load process (ZSRIAVR) will always display a ‘Y’ in the ‘Ver’ (verified) column in the ZHANOSH form
LOADING INGRESS ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION DATA ZHANOSH – Attendance Verification Form
Execute ZHRNOSH through Job Submission (GJAPCTL). Results: Processes data in the ZTRNOSH & ZTRNOSS tables; updates
registration status code in course sections for absent students.

CLEARING THE INGRESS LOG TABLE
Over a period, the log table accumulates a large number of entries, many of which are no longer needed for troubleshooting purposes over time.
ZSRCLRL can be run at any time during the term as frequently as needed.
ZSRCLRL – INGRESS Log Table Clearing Process
CLEARING THE INGRESS LOG TABLE
Execute ZSRCLRL through Job Submission (GJAPCTL).
