FOREWARD

This Quantitative Report of Infrared Inspection provides documentation of the problems (abnormal conditions) found in your equipment. It uses subjective and objective evaluations to help you prioritize repairs that will give you the greatest return from this inspection and your maintenance.

HOW INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY WORKS

Qualitative infrared imagers “see” the heat radiated from your equipment in real time, just like a video camera sees visible light. In black-and-white thermograms (pictures of heat), white is hot and black is cold unless stated otherwise. When thermograms are in color, usually the white/gold and red areas are hotter and the black and blue areas are colder.

REPAIR RATINGS

Each problem located is assessed repair ratings based on your qualified personnel’s opinion of how important the potential problem is to the safe and profitable operation of your overall system and by quantitative temperature guidelines. Overheating can cause premature deterioration and costly unplanned failure of your equipment. Overheating connectors, conductors and components will never get better. No one can predict when a failure will occur! As a result, we suggest that you investigate and correct every potential problem as soon as you can. Thank you.

INSPECTION GUIDELINES

The following quantitative temperature guidelines are based on over 20 year’s field experience from consulting thermographers. Temperature specifications vary depending on the exact type of equipment. Heating is generally related to the square of the current, therefore the current will have a major impact on “delta T”. In the absence of consensus standards for “delta T”, the values in the table below will provide reasonable guidelines. Infrared Predictive Surveys, Inc. is not responsible for the post analysis faults that may develop or from failure due to lack of repairs or reporting. Priority 1: Corrective measures should be taken at the next maintenance

interval. Priority 2: Corrective measures required as scheduling permits. Priority 3: Corrective measures required as soon as possible. Priority 4: Corrective measures required immediately. Guidelines Temperature rise over similar components under similar conditions 20-50º F: Priority 1 50-80° F Priority 2 80-110ºF Priority 3 > 110ºF Priority 4

Summary:

An Infrared Electrical / Mechanical inspection was performed on 01/08-09/2008

All of the items inspected are listed in the inventory section of this Thermal Trend report. Any anomalies that were found at the time of the inspection (if any) are documented in the Problem Detail section of this report with their appropriate associated data, i.e. Thermograms, Photos, comments, measurements, etc.. They are also listed in the Prioritized list of problems section, in their order of priority based on the components temperature rise, as compared to a similar reference component of equal type, loading, and environmental influences, at the time of the inspection. The final decision as to the repair priority of any and all problems in this report rests on the owners, management, and/or facilities engineering teams. The IR Thermographer assumes no liability directly or indirectly as a result of this inspection or the decisions made as to establishing the priority and timeline of repair decisions made by the owners, management, and/or facilities engineering teams.

Executive Overview: # of locations in the database: 39 # of pieces of equipment in the database: 75 # of problems (open and closed covering all inspections) all acute and chronic: 99 all acute: 70 all chronic: 29 # of problems, acute and chronic all closed (covering all inspections): 79 all open (tested or not tested in this inspection): 20

I herby certify that the above project was inspected by myself or under my direction and that the enclosed data is the direct result of this inspection.
