On behalf of the 2016 EIU HC Steering Committee, I would like to
thank you for your interest in participating in the 2016 EIU
Homecoming Week! EIU’s Homecoming celebration is one of the
largest and longest EIU traditions.
The 2016 EIU Homecoming Celebration –“There’s No Place Like
EIU!” Homecoming 2016 scheduled to take place October 17-22, is
based on the timeless classic – The Wizard of Oz.
The Land of Oz will come to life during EIU Homecoming Week
2016. This week of events will be like no other as there will be
something “old” and something “new” for everyone!
The EIU traditions continues on with classic HC events such
as – Coronation, Family Fun Night, Pep Rally and Parade. Get
ready to “click” your heels to this year’s “New” Homecoming Week
events - Walk the Chalk Art Competition, CAN-struction
Competition and the Bonfire & BBQ!
There really is “No Place Like EIU”! So, get ready to break-out the
Blue Chuck T’s and ease on down the “BLUE” Brick Road on a
memorable journey during EIU Homecoming Week 2016!

Competition Divisions
There will not be any competition between
divisions. Competition will remain within each division
(for example: Lawson Hall will only compete against
Carman Hall and not with Delta Zeta or Epsilon
Sigma Alpha). The only exception is
Homecoming Coronation.
An Overall Winner for each division will be selected
when all Homecoming Week activities have been
completed. Winners will be determined by the
highest overall point totals awarded among the
competing organizations/residence halls within
each division.
First and Second place awards will be given out to
the Overall Divisional winners. Also first and second
place awards will be awarded to Overall Event
winners in each competition.
An overall Homecoming Spirit Award will be awarded
in each division to the EIU Department,
Greek/RSO/Hall that demonstrates excellence in EIU
school spirit and sportsmanship throughout their
preparation and participation in EIU
Homecoming Week.
Overall Homecoming Point Totals will be displayed
on-line prior to and throughout the week of EIU
Homecoming. Overall Homecoming Point Totals in the
RSO/Greek/Residence Hall/Faculty & Staff Divisions
will be available on-line at the 2016 EIU Homecoming
Website beginning Monday, September 20th. For

The competitions in 2016 Homecoming Week will be
divided into the following university Divisions:
This division includes all social-service based
Greek-lettered organizations that include but
are not limited to the PanHellenic, National
Pan-Hellenic and Inter-fraternity Councils
recognized fraternities and sororities. In
addition “local” or “non-affiliated” Greek-lettered
organizations that would include Phi Rho Eta
Fraternity and, Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority.
Two or more Greek organizations competing in
the Greek Division shall compete as one entry.
This division includes all of the on-campus
residence halls and apartment complexes.
This division includes all campus Registered
Student Organizations, which are not affiliated
with PanHellenic, National Pan-Hellenic or
Inter-fraternity Greek-lettered organizations or
Residence Halls.
This division includes all of the EIU Administrators,
faculty, staff and EIU offices/departments.

HC Billy in the SchoolsBilly the Panther Mascot will be spreading EIU Pride during Homecoming Week at area Charleston grade schools and will feature coloring contests for great prizes and giveaways!
The Instagram hunt is on!! Take your best EIU shot and tag Instagram homepage throughout EIU Homecoming Week 2016. Winners will be chosen and featured on the EIU and Homecoming Websites at the end of EIU Homecoming Week. Points will be awarded.

This Homecoming event invites Residence Halls and Faculty/Staff Divisions to compete in departmental offices and hall decorating competitions to showcase school spirit for bragging rights, prizes and awards

The House Decks Competition consists of Greek-lettered Organizations designing and displaying decorative lawn displays measuring 4’ x 8’, which are based on various homecoming sub-themes. The House Decks are displayed in Greek Court in front of Greek Chapter Houses throughout Homecoming Week.

One of the highlights of EIU Homecoming Week is the official kick-off celebration of EIU pride and spirit! This Homecoming event invites the EIU community to celebrate BLUE Pride by participating in a wide array of music, food, fun games, scavenger hunt, and Sidewalk Chalk Art Contests. There will be fun for everyone to showcase EIU Pride!

T-shirts can be purchased by members of the EIU and Charleston communities for $5.00 each (Small-XL and Youth Sizes) and $7.00 each (XXL-XXXL). A limited quantity HC Spirit Sweatshirts will also be on sale for $15.00 each while supplies last! HC Kick-off on the Quad
It's time to get into the "Spirit of Giving" during EIU Homecoming Week! EIU Students, Faculty/Staff, Depts., Residence Halls, RSO's, Greeks, and Student-Athletes we will be joining forces in a fight against Hunger can-by-can. This 10-day challenge will feature donated canned goods and non-perishable items in an effort to fill the Civic Engagement Van each day! All donated food collected will be donated to local Charleston Food agencies and pantries.
HC EIU CARES: STUFF-THE-VAN FOOD DRIVE
One of the highlights of EIU Homecoming Week is crowning EIU Royalty - Homecoming King, Queen, Prince and Princess in a coronation ceremony. In addition, the Homecoming Court royalty consists of Faculty King, Queen and Lil’ Prince and Princess who reign throughout EIU Homecoming Week. The elections process consists of campus-wide on-line voting by EIU students, and nominating of EIU faculty, and staff for the respective Homecoming candidate(s) of their choice.

The EIU Homecoming Committee is excited to reveal this “New” HC event during 2016 HC Week. EIU students will transform the walkways of EIU into an artistic landscape of Panther Pride! HC participants will be able exhibit on a designated and allotted sidewalk space square. The sidewalk artwork will be on display for the entire week of EIU Homecoming!

HC "TRIVIA TROLLEY"It's Time to get on-board the HC Trivia Trolley! The HC "Trivia Trolley" will be providing campus trivia, rides and EIU Swag throughout the EIU community to those who display their "True Blue" during Homecoming Week!

Family Fun Night at EIU is an entertaining night of fun for EIU, Charleston communities and their families. Activities include BINGO, refreshments, carnival games, Arts & Crafts Stations, fun games and prizes for all ages.

is a “New Twist” on this year’s HC Bonfire event featuring food and refreshments in addition to S’mores, soda, water, caramel apple slices, hot apple cider/caramel apple cider, apple cider floats, hot cocoa, and the HC DJ playing music. Activities will include games such as Pumpkin Ring Toss, giveaways and more!

Homecoming Pep Rally and Yell Like Hell event is a campus-wide spirit rally designed to promote Panther spirit and pride in preparation for the home football game. The EIU Cheer teams, and Panther Marching Band will be on hand to lead the EIU Fight Song! An exhibition of student tumbling, cheers/chants, dance routines, and contests will highlight this year’s pep rally event.

HC Rotary Pancake Breakfast - The Rotary Pancake Breakfast consists of an all-you-can-eat sunrise breakfast for the EIU and Charleston communities prior to the start of the EIU Homecoming Race/Walk and parade events. Sponsored by the Charleston Rotary Club, proceeds from this event benefit local charities.

It’s time to “Think Blue, Wear Blue” at EIU! – To promote school spirit throughout the university during EIU Homecoming Week, the HC "Trivia Trolley" will be providing campus rides and EIU Swag Giveways throughout the EIU community to those who display their "True Blue". In addition, Friday’s will be designated school spirit day throughout the year to promote EIU Pride! Members of the EIU community are encouraged to show their Panther Pride by wearing “EIU Royal Blue every Friday through-out HC Week.

The EIU Historically Black Greek-lettered organizations will “Stomp It Out! in a battle for braggin’ rights on the yard! This homecoming showcase features a unique display of synchronized strolling.

The EIU Homecoming Parade is an annual tradition that consists of over 100 campus/community parade entries featuring a HC Parade Grand Marshall, Distinguished EIU Alumni, decorated cars, bands, banners and floats.

After HC Week it is time to clean-up the campus and community! EIU student volunteers will be on the prowl for the annual campus/community clean-up at the conclusion of EIU Homecoming Week festivities.

Individuals and teams armed with cell phones will compete in a series of clues, challenges and photo/video tasks utilizing cutting edge technology.

The Spirit of EIU is alive and well during EIU Homecoming Week, as it is time to “Pack the Stands BLUE” in support ot the EIU Football Panthers as they take on Murray State at O’ Brien Field. EIU Fans who Pack the Stands Wearing Blue! will receive a chance to win FREE “Blue Swag” that includes – HC Spirit Tshirts, foam fingers, rally towels, beads and more! If you are up to the challenge and Bleed Blue, then wear it proudly at the HC Football Game!

EIU Homecoming Week is a time of celebration shared by EIU students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. In collaborative partnership with the HERC, EIU University Police Dept. and Student Standards Dept. various programs and activities will be offered throughout Homecoming Week to promote alcohol awareness and the importance of EIU Panthers celebrating “Safe and Sober”.

office walls, furnishings or lobby areas.
4. NO nails, tacks, or staples may be used and all
adhesives used must be fully removable.
5. Door handles MUST remain visible and operational.
Office/door decorations may not impede the usage of
the office or door, compromise ADA compliance, or
pose a safety hazard. Decorations must be fire retar-
dant.
6. NO glitter, confetti, or other small items may be used
without prior administrative approval.

RULES/REGULATIONS:1. HC Candidate Interviews will be conducted by members
of the EIU Faculty, Staff, Alumni and Charleston community.
2. HC Candidate judging will be based on the following-
60% Candidate Interview Process, 30% HC Campus Voting
Process, HC Candidate Application Process
Eligibility 1. HC Candidates must have a cumulative
GPA of 2.75 and be in good disciplinary
standing to be eligible. If HC Candidates are
found ineligible, candidates have until
Friday, September 23rd, 2016 by 4pm to
appeal the decision or submit the
application of a replacement candidate.
2. Categories: Homecoming King, Queen,
Prince, and Princess (male and female).
3. HC Candidates must be a full-time
student at EIU at the time of the candidate
interviews and election.
4. HC Candidates must be currently in good
standing with the university, Student
Conduct Code and the Office of Student
Standards to be eligible to run for EIU
Homecoming Royalty
5. Each candidate must attend all
meetings, interviews, and photo sessions.
NO EXCEPTIONS OR MAKE-UPS.
6. King and Queen Candidates must have
junior or senior standing-with a minumum
of 60 credit hours pertaining to cumulative
credit hours as stated in the University
Catalog; must be currently enrolled in 12
hours at Eastern Illinois University at time
of candidacy and election, and must have
attended Eastern Illinois University for at
least one full semester.
7. Prince and Princess Candidates must
have no LESS than 30 cumulative credit
hours and no MORE than 60 cumulative
hours at the time of his/her candidacy and
election; must be currently enrolled in 12
hours at Eastern Illinois at time of candida-
cy and election, and must have attended
Eastern Illinois University for at least one
full semester.
8. Members of the 2016 Homecoming
Steering Committee and those affiliated
with are not eligible to run for King, Queen,
Prince, or Princess.
1. Categories of candidates include King, Queen, Prince,
and Princess.
2. A Greek/RSO/Hall must sponsor and/or select their
HC candidate(s).
3. Registered Student Organizations, Residence Halls,
and Greek-lettered Organizations are eligible to spon-
sor one candidate per gender, per category – King,
Queen, Prince, Princess
4. Candidates are required to attend (2) Mandatory
Candidate Meetings – Tuesday, September 20th at 8:00pm in the Effingham Rm. and Tuesday, October 11th at 8:00pm in the Effingham Rm., in the MLK Jr. Union.
5. Candidates Photos will be taken Monday, September 26th from 9:00am to 3:00pm (EXCEPT NOON) and Tues-day, September 27th from 9:00am to 3:00pm (EXCEPT NOON) in the lower-level of Booth Library.
6. Mandatory Coronation Rehearsal/Walk thru will be
Monday, October 17th from 3:00pm-5pm in McAfee Gym - South.
7. Candidates will also be required to complete and
submit a 2016 Homecoming Candidate Application, which
will count for10% of the HC Candidate’s Total Score. The
deadline to submit HC Candidate’s Application is
Tuesday, September 20th.

ry Prince and Princess Candidate Interviews - Saturday, October 1st, between 10:30am-4pm in the 1895 Rm., 2nd Floor MLK Jr. Union, and King and Queen Candidate Interviews - Sunday, October 2nd between 10:30am-4pm in the 1895 Rm., 2nd Floor, MLK Jr. Union.
2. NO ALTERNATE OR MAKE-UP DATES WILL BE
ALLOWED FOR CANDIDATES INTERVIEWS. NO
special arrangements or exceptions will be made.
3. HC Candidate Interviews will count for 60% of

4. A selected interview team of EIU faculty & staff
will interview candidates.
5. HC Candidates need to sign up for an interview
time after they have turned in their HC applica-
tion. Go to the SAC, 2nd Floor, MLK Jr. Union to
sign-up for HC interviews.
1. Campaigning for Homecoming
Candidates shall run from September 30th-October 5th, 2016 after which all cam-
paign materials must be removed. i.e. flyers,
Facebook, etc.
2. Residence Hall HC candidates can post
campaign materials on their doors and
windows, but MUST follow posting regulations
established by the Office of EIU. Housing and
Dining Services if they wish to post materials
in Residence Hall.
3. Each HC candidate should follow the
guidelines for campaigning and posting of
materials as indicated in the University
Posting Guidelines.
4. Nametags accompanied by wallet size
photos are not allowed.
5. Posting is only allowed on University
bulletin boards and designated areas; viola-
tions could result in disqualification. All
campaign materials posted must be taken
down on October 5th, 2016 by 5:00pm by
respective HC Candidate.
6. Campaigning will be allowed in
academic classrooms, administrative or
departmental offices at the discretion of
university officials. However, HC
campaigning that disrupts the normal flow of
University and academic business is prohibit-
ed.
7. The destruction of campaign materials is
strictly prohibited. HC participants and/or
candidates may not destroy, or defame in
any way another HC candidate during the
campaigning and elections process.
8. Campaigning costs cannot exceed $200.00
per HC candidate (including homemade or
professional designed marketing materials,
articles of clothing, and donated items.

event. Homecoming “Creation Stations” can
be in the form of a carnival game/booth or
a craft station.
2. To sponsor a “Creation Station” sponsors
must submit an application form and select
a fun carnival game or craft activity for
ages ranging between 5 years old – 13 years
old.
3. Participants can sponsor (1) creation
station and are responsible for staffing the
station with a minimum of (2) volunteers
throughout the Family Fun Night event.
4. Participants are responsible for providing
ALL decorations, supplies and prizes
associated with the game event. Prizes
should be provided for a minimum of (30)
game participants. Candy should be
provided at a “minimum”.
5. Tables and chairs can be provided upon
request by “Creation Stations” and must be
requested PRIOR to the event on the

in the Arcola/Tuscola Room, MLK Jr. Union at
8pm-9pm
4. Maximum of 18 participants per Yell Like
Hell (YLH) team/squad.
5. ALL YLH participants MUST sign-off on the
“Liability Release Waiver” PRIOR to perform-
ing. Failure to do so can result in partici-
pants not allowed to perform. There will be
(2) Alternates allowed per team/squad. ALL
alternates are required to be listed on
team/squad roster.
6. Cheer/Chants/Skits routines and music
must be free of profanity and inappropriate
behavior. Routines must be screened and
approved by the EIU HC Steering Committee.
7. Each group is allotted a maximum of 7-
minutes to perform. Time begins with the
group entering performance area and
signals “ready” and ends when group exits
area.
8. Groups that EXCEED time limit may be
subject to a maximum deduction of a
5-point- overall penalty by the judges.
9. Routines must incorporate (4) key
elements - “Skit Introduction”, tumbling/stunt,
EIU cheer/chant and props in order to be
eligible for maximum points possible.
10. Cheer/Chants/Skits must be relevant to
EIU and the 2016 Homecoming Theme
–“There’s No Place Like EIU” Homecoming
2016
11. All music, chants, skits, props,
costumes/apparel, etc. must be “screened”

13. The FINAL music CD must be provided at
the YLH walk-through/ rehearsal. The CD
must be labeled with all of the following:

name and is subject to approval and editing.
The assigned rehearsals will be held at
McAfee Gym on Wednesday, October 19th,
7:30pm-11:00pm and Thursday, October 20th,
7:00pm – 11:00pm.
14. All teams/squads representatives are
required to attend the designated HC
meetings and rehearsal, failure to do so can
result in a disqualification from the competi-
tion. Routines, costumes, props and music be
pre-screened and approved by HC Steering
Committee. NO EXCEPTIONS!
15. On the night of the YLH performances,
Friday October 21st, 2016, each team/squad
must check in at least 30 minutes prior to
the start of the competition.
16. ALL teams/squads must provide a Music
Tech Assistant to assist DJ with music cues
throughout YLH performance
17. Pyramids are no higher than 3|2|1. NO
BASKET-TOSS FLIPS are allowed. Safety
spotters are required for any and all ariel or
tumbling moves/movements
18. All routines MUST be performed with
safety mats and with EIU Cheer Team Spot-
ters. NO EXCEPTIONS.
19. The 2016 EIU Homecoming Committee,
reserves the right to disqualify the perfor-

2. The HC Steering Committee reserves the right
to make the final decision in the placement of ALL
parade entries.
3. HC Parade entries are encouraged to register
early, however doing so does NOT guarantee a
specific placement of a entry in the parade.
4. All flatbed floats, walking floats, bands, novelty
and decorated cars must submit a general written
description of the entry on their application.
These entries must be theme-related. Any major
changes need to be discussed with a HC Parade
chairperson before final judging.
5. The EIU Homecoming Committee reserves the

8. Floats may not be dismantled along the
HC Parade route or at the EIU football
stadium. If so, there will be a loss of Home-
coming points to that particular entry or
entries will be subject to disqualification,
fines and future participation in the EIU
Homecoming parade event.
9. Each HC Parade entry is responsible for
the conduct of its members or participants
during the construction of the float and
along the parade route. If conduct is
deemed inappropriate, entries will be asked
to leave and escorted from HC Parade
route. The entry will be disqualified.
10. Violations can result in loss of points
and/or disciplinary action.
11. All cars entered in the HC Parade must be
clean and respectable. All HC Parade entries
not passing final on-site inspection on
Friday, October 21st - EIU entries or Satur-
day, October 22nd – Community Entries will
be disqualified from the HC Parade.
12. All decorative materials used in the float
must be fireproof or have been treated with
a fireproof retardant and in compliance with
City Of Charleston ordinance, parade codes
and standards.
13. Fire or Open flames are PROHIBITED. HC
Parade entries must carry a Fire Extinguish-
er and located within easy access on the
float. i.e. ABC (2A20BC) fire extinguisher.
14. Alcoholic beverages are forbidden on
any HC Parade float or vehicle or on the
person of any parade participant. HC
Entries are subject to removal from lineup
during the HC Parade if there is obvious
disregard for this rule.
15. The HC Committee reserves the right to
inspect floats before the HC Parade. If there
are no fire extinguishers on board, or the
float is made of flammable non-approved
materials, or there is some other violation
the float will be subject to dis-qualification
or until corrective measures have been met.
16. The EIU and Charleston Police Depart-
ment and Fire Department may exercise the
authority to 'veto' any aspect of the EIU
Homecoming Parade that they believe poses
an unreasonable risk of injury or danger to
the public. Public safety is ultimately the
responsibility of the EIU and Charleston
police and fire rescue departments, and
related public agencies.
17. NO SMOKING will be permitted by HC
Parade participants on or near the float or
the towing vehicle.
18. ALL CANDY OR OTHER ITEMS MUST BE
HANDED OUT – NOT THROWN! NO THROW-
ING OF ANY ITEMS WILL BE PERMITTED!
19. Alcoholic beverages are EXPRESSLY
FORBIDDEN by HC parade participants or on
any HC Parade float or vehicle or on the
person of any parade participant. HC
Entries are subject to removal from lineup
during the HC Parade if there is obvious
disregard for this rule. Formal charges and
disciplinary action may be pending.
20. Domestic pets on a leash can be part of
a walking float subject to approval, but they
may not be an entry themselves. Also, they
must be properly restrained. Any waste
products from the pets are the responsibili-
ty of the handler and must be cleaned
immediately.
21. No float may have pre-made mannequins
as part of the float.
22. Participants riding any type of motorcy-
cle, 4 wheeler or bike are required to wear
a proper helmet.
23 No HC parade entry may enter competi-
tion in more than one of the following com-
peting categories:
― Greek Division - flatbed float, and walking float, or decorated car.
― Residence Hall Division - flatbed float, walking float, or decorated car.
― RSO Division - flatbed float, walking float, or decorated car.
― Charleston/Community Division - flatbed float, walking float, or deco
rated car.
24. HC Parade entries and participants will
NOT be allowed to solicit monetary dona-
tions for any philanthropic cause along the
HC Parade route. Failure to be abide by this
can result in removal from HC Parade route
and banishment in future HC parades

FAILURE TO ABIDE BY PARADE RULES/REGULATIONS:Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in:
1. The immediate removal of the HC Parade partici-
pants and/or the parade entry from the HC Parade.
2. The disqualification of the HC Parade participant’s
and/or sponsoring organization’s eligibility to receive
parade points and awards.
3. The issuing of citations to and/or the filing of crimi-
nal charges against or the arrest of the responsible
HC Parade participant(s) and/or person(s) responsible
of parade entry.
4. The disqualification of the parade participant’s
and/or sponsoring organization or group's eligibility to
participate in future Parades.
25. THERE WILL BE NO P.A. SYSTEMS USED BY PARADE
ENTRIES DURING THE HC PARADE.
26. Any destruction or vandalism of other HC Parade
entries will result in automatic disqualification, remov-
al from the HC Parade route and are subject to
disciplinary action.
27. Any behavior problems or disorderly conduct by
parade participants along the parade route will
result in disqualification of parade entry and further
disciplinary action.
28. All EIU Homecoming Parade - EIU entries must
have a HC Parade Code of Conduct form on file with
the EIU Homecoming Parade Sub-committee prior to
the HC Parade event.
29. Distance between HC parade entries is to be
maintained at minimum of 30 feet. All HC Parade
entries are required to close the gap between
entries when requested to do so by a EIU HC Parade
official. All HC Parade entries must be mindful of the
distance between entries in front or behind them, and
maintain proper distance and speed accordingly.
30. No more than 3 similar or sponsored HC parade
entries will be placed in order of parade line-up next
to each other to ensure balance and coordination of
the HC Parade.
31. NO single entry can have more than two motor-
ized items i.e., car, truck, ATV, golf cart, etc.
1. Pre-Judging of the HC Parade flatbed
floats – EIU Entries (Division C) will be on
the evening of Friday, October 21rd for EIU
Groups.
2. Judging of Division A, B and D will take
place on Saturday, October 22th during
the HC Parade event.
3. The HC Parade entry in each division
with the “MOST” points will be awarded –
1st place, second highest will be awarded
2nd place and third highest will be award-
ed 3rd place. Plaques or trophies will be
awarded in each division and the winners
announced at the HC Football Game.
4. A “TIE” in any division will result in the
HC Judges awarding “Bonus” points in
choosing a single winner.
5. If a HC Parade entry does NOT com-
plete the HC Parade route, the entry may
be subject to a deduction in HC points.
Special circumstances beyond the control
of the HC Parade entry may be taken into
consideration.
6. HC Overall Winners in each category
will be announced at beginning of the 3rd
Quarter of the EIU Football Game on
Saturday, October 22nd.
7. HC Judges must not have an affiliation
with the competing organizations, spon-
sors or entries. All HC Judges’ decisions
are final, with the exception of the review
of any filed HC Grievances alleging any HC
Parade violations.

parade division rules:The EIU and the EIU Homecoming Committee reserves the right to deny entry into the EIU Homecoming
Parade to any parade entry that fails to abide by HC Parade rules, may pose a health/safety risk
and/or deemed in bad taste, low quality or might be found offensive to the institution, participants and
the viewers of the HC parade.
1. Maximum of twenty-five (25) partic-
ipants per entry.
2. A complete description of entry
must accompany entry form.
3. A walking float is an entry that is
either pulled or carried by partici-
pants in the group.

1. A decorated car is an entry where
the car is simply decorated (posters,
streamers, etc.) with no construction.
2. The car must be clean and in good
condition.
1. The height of the float may not exceed thirteen (13) feet from the ground level.
2. The width of the float may not exceed twenty (20) feet.
3. The length of the float may not exceed forty (40) feet.
4. All floats containing individuals must be equipped with a kick-out panel that must be at least two (2)
feet by three (3) feet.
5. All expenditures associated with float building materials for EIU Homecoming Parade entries must
not exceed a MAXIMUM amount totaling $4,000.00. All expenditures are subject to review and verifica-
tion by EIU Homecoming Parade Committee. Any expenditure exceeding the maximum limit may result
in disqualification of a HC Parade entry.
6. Materials may include, but are not limited to pomp’s, vinyl, floral sheeting, grass mats, fringe, wood,

appropriate behavior and sportsmanship is expected and demonstrated by all mem-
bers whether they are a participating member or a spectator of that specific Home-
coming event. As a organization/residence hall, we also agree to treat all Homecom-
ing Committee members, staff, judges and other Homecoming participants and spec-
tators with respect and in a manner in which we would want to be treated.
Furthermore as EIU students, we agree to adhere to EIU institutional
Policies/procedures and the EIU Student Conduct Code that govern our participation
in the 2016 Homecoming Parade event.
Furthermore, we _________________________ registered student organization/residence
hall understand that any violation of this HC Parade Code of Conduct by a member
can result in Homecoming fines, disqualification from competition and/or termination
from participation in 2016 EIU Homecoming Week. In Addition, major violations are
subject to further investigation and prosecution by the EIU Student Life, Office of
Judicial Affairs, the University Police and Charleston Police Departments. Future par-
ticipation in HC Parade events may be terminated.

HC Formal Protests concerning the violation
of Homecoming rules or improper conduct by
an organization, student participants or
resentatives during 2016 Homecoming Week
activities must be submitted by Mach Form.
V. The decision of the HC Hearing
Committee can result as follows:
a. Organization disqualification
b. Deduction of Points
c. Case dismissal
d. Other actions as deemed
appropriate and/or necessary i.e.
fines, restitution, suspension, etc.
VI. Referral for additional disciplinary
actions and proceedings is at the
discretion of the Student Life Office
VII. The decision of the HC Hearing Com-
mittee is subject to appeal to the office
of The Vice President of Student Affairs.
All appeals must be submitted in writing
within 24 hours of the HC Hearing Com-
mittee decision.
VIII. It is understood that the names of
both the violator(s) and the protestor, as
well as the nature of the protest, are
public information.
I. Formal Protest Form must be submitted
in writing within 24 hours of alleged
violations.
II. Information of the protest must include:
― the alleged violation
― the alleged violator(s)
― the name of the protestor
―time, place and event at which the
violation occurred
― Summary of events and
participants involved in the
violation
III. The HC Hearing Committee will hear all
protests.
IV. The HC Hearing Committee will consist
