OUR POINT OF PRIDE 89th AKHIL BHARATIYA MARATHI

SAHITYA SAMMELAN

The feather in the cap for the success of DPU was the 89th

Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan (All India Annual

Marathi Literary Meet) which was hosted by DPU from 15th

to 18th January, 2016. This event will truly go down to the

history not only of DPU but also of the great state of

Maharashtra as a grand success story. On an average

1,50,000 discerning people from India and abroad visited the

venue every day. A gigantic exhibition encompassing 400

book stalls truly representing the rich and vast culture of

reading and literary excellence of the people, recorded sales

of books worth Rs. 5.50 crores in four days. Speeches and

lectures, group discussions, panel discussions, poetry

reading sessions were thronged by astute readers in

thousands. The Sammelan was truly a Maha-Kumbh Mela of

all Marathi literature lovers.

Eminent luminaries, such as Mr. Devendra Fadanavis -

Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Nitin - Gadkari

Hon'ble Union Minister of Transport & Shipping, Mr. Vinod

Tawade - Hon'ble Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs,

Government of Maharashtra, Mr. Sharad Pawar - Former

Union Minister, Mr. Gulzar, Mr. Chetan Bhagar, Mr. Javed

Akhtar, Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Ms. Asha Bhosale, Mr.

Sushil Kumar Shinde, Dr. Vijay Bhatkar and other dignataries

etc. attended the Sammelan. Gyanpeeth Award Winners

were Padmavibhushan Sitakant Mahapatra, Padmashri Satya

Vrat Shastri, Padmashri Rehman Rahi, as well as, Padmashri

Pratibha Ray also felicitated in the Sammelan. Renowned

Marathi Author Dr. Shripal Sabnis President the Sammelan.

DPU has granted a sum of Rs. 15.00 lacs to three eminent

personalities for promotion and propagation of Marathi

language and literature in the field of education. The entire

contribution collected towards the rent of book stalls and the

delegate registration charges were donated with additional

amount making a total of Rs. 1.00 crore to NAAM foundation

for helping the families of farmers in the drought prone area,

who have committed suicide.

Physiotherapy means physiotherapeutic system of medicine whichincludes examination, treatment, advice and instructions to any personpreparatory to or for the purpose of or in connection with movementdysfunction, bodily malfunction, physical disorder, disability, healingand pain from trauma and disease, physical and mental conditions usingphysical agents including exercise, mobilization, manipulation,mechanical and electrotherapy, activity and devices or diagnosis,treatment and prevention.

Physiotherapist's utilize an individual's history and physicalexamination in diagnosis and treatment, and if necessary, willincorporate the results of laboratory and imaging studies. Electrodiagnosis testing (e.g. electromyograms and nerve conduction velocitytesting) may also be of assistance. Physiotherapists practice in manysettings, such as outpatient clinics or offices, inpatient rehabilitationfacilities, extended care facilities, homes, education or research centers,schools, hospices, industrial workplaces or other occupationalenvironments, fitness centers and sports training facilities.

Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and Dr. D.Y. Patil College ofPhysiotherapy are located in the same sprawling campus in Pimpri. The collegewas established in the year 2000.

The Auditorium is spacious, centrally air-conditionedwith ergonomically designed chairs and is fully equippedwith latest audio-video facilities with seating capacity of250 and is being extensively used for all kinds ofseminars, symposia and lecture of guest speakers

The College has an excellent central library

facility. It has a total floor area of 1230 sq. meter, with a

provision for a separate reading room for the teaching

staff and spacious reading halls to accommodate over

200 students. The total collection of the central library is

more than 10,000 volumes.

Library subscribes to most of the national and

international journals required for the undergraduate and

post-graduate students and faculty. In addition to the

central library facility, the college has its Library cum

reading hall. College library also has adequate books and

subscribes national and international journals related to

physiotherapy regularly. The Reading Room of the

central library is kept open for 16 hours a day. The central

library has been provided with Internet facility and

students and the faculty have open access to this facility.

The Faculty

The College has a team of dedicated, highly

qualified faculty in all specialities with a vast teaching

experience. Various Universities invite senior members

of the teaching staff as paper setters, examiners and

moderators. From time to time, faculty members are sent

by the college to attend various workshops, seminars and

symposia. The quality of teaching is evident from the

excellent results the college has always produced at

PROCEDURE & DEFINITIONS:General Category: Admission under this category shall be made

on the basis of the inter-se merit of the candidates qualified at

AIPGPET-17.

NRI / PIO /FN Category:The candidate under this category is not required to appear for

AIPGPET-17. Admission will be made on the basis of inter-se

merit.

The candidate will be required to pay processing fee U.S. $ 200.

In case any seat earmarked for NRI / PIO / FNs is not filled in by

the candidate of any of this sub – categories, such vacant seats

shall be fill ie. in the candidate (s) who has / have cleared the

AIPGPET-17.

In this context, the bona-fide NRIs, PIOs and Foreign

Nationals are defined as follows:

An NRI is a person who is 'not a resident' or who is 'not ordinarily

resident' (i) If he / she has been resident in India for less than 182

days in the year preceding the date of application; or (ii) If he / she

has been in India for less than 365 days during the four years

immediately preceding the date of application.

APIO is a person having foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and

Bangladesh ) within NRI status, but who holds a foreign passport

at the time of sending application or at the time of consideration

for admission and during the period of his study for courses and

whose one / both parents or anyone / both grand parents is (or

was) are (or were), citizen (s), of India by virtue of the provisions

of the Constitution of India ) or Section 2 (b) of Citizenship Act

1955 (Act. No. 57 of 1955).An FN is a person having citizenship of a foreign country (any

country other than India) and not having the status “NRI” and / or

“PIO”.

RULES FOR SELECTION AND ADMISSION

The admission to MPT courses in various Physiotherapy subjects

in Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, a constituent college of

the Vidyapeeth, shall be done as per the relevant Rules and Bye-

laws of the Vidyapeeth. The competent Authority has established

a co-ordination committee for conduct of AIPGPET-17 and

ELIGIBILITYCRITERIA:

· Indian national having Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy

from a recognized University can apply for the entrance test

and the admission to MPT course.

· A candidate who has completed six months compulsory

internship or is likely to complete the same on or before

31 July 2017 can appear for the All India Post Graduatest

Physiotherapy Entrance Test (AIPGPET-17).

· A candidate likely to complete their internship on or before

31 July 2017 should submit documentary proof from theirst

Principals / Dean of the College regarding the likely date of

completion of internship at the time of admission process,

failing which the admission will be rejected.

SCHEME OF ENTRANCE TEST

AIPGPET-17 Paper will be of one and half hours duration

containing 100 multiple choice question (MCQs). Questions will

be of single best response objective type with four answer

options. Each correct response shall be awarded one mark. There

shall be no negative marking for wrong answers. Scratching,

overwriting, tick marks and multiply answers will be considered

as wrong answer and no marks will be awarded to them.

The AIPGPET-17 shall be of the standard of Bachelor of

Physiotherapy (BPT) Examination and shall cover all the

subjects of BPT Course. The scheme of examination and the

tentative number of questions of each subject will be as shown in

the chart.

There is no option among the questions i.e. all questions have to

be answered. The candidates will be provided with one single

computer readable. OMR (Optical Mark Reader) answer sheet

for answering. At the end of paper/session student will handover

the OMRAnswer sheet and Question booklet to the invigilator.

The candidate will be required to mark the correct answer by

darkening the corresponding circle against the serial number of

the question with black ballpoint pen only on the answer sheet.

Out of four circles provided for selection of answer against a

question, the candidate should fill up one circle only. Each

correct answer will be given 1 mark.

1] All eligible candidates except NRI /PIO/FN are required toattend theAIPGPET-17 at their own cost.

2] The Examination will be conducted in English medium.

TIE – BREAKER FOR EQUALMARKS

(For Determination of the Inter-se-merit of candidatesobtaining equalAIPGPET - 17 marks).

In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks in theAIPGPET-17, the inter-se-merit of such candidates will bedetermined in the order of preference as under: -

1) The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted intopercentage) at First, Second, Third & Fourth B.P.T.Examination taken together shall be preferred. If the tie stillpersists,

2) The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted intopercentage) at Fourth BPT Examination will be preferred. Ifthe tie still persists,

3) The candidate with more aggregate marks (converted intopercentage) at Third BPT Examination will be preferred. Ifthe tie still persists,

4) An older candidate will be preferred over a youngercandidate.

RESULTAND MERIT LIST

Results will be displayed on the website at www.dpu.edu.in.Results of individual candidate will not be communicated ontelephone or by post.

There will be no rechecking / revaluation of the answer sheets.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The selection will be done as per merit and preference given bythe candidate.

The candidate selected as per his / her merit cum preference forparticular subject has to join the course on the date of coursecommencement.

COUNSELLING &ADMISSIONS

Areasonable number of qualified candidates, as per the merit list,shall be called for Counseling and admission as shown incalendar of event by the competent Authority. It may happen incase of some candidates that all the available seats will be filledin, before their turn comes. The admission process stops once thenumber of seats available is filled in.

Counseling will be done by Competent Authority and subjectexperts.

The candidate shall produce originals of the required certificatesat the time of counseling and admission.

The selection to the course shall be done on the basis of meritcum preference given by the candidate.

The selected candidate will have to join the course as shown incalendar of events.

The admission will be made on provisional basis. The candidatehas to give an undertaking for completion of the course.

Student shall submit the eligibility form to the Vidyapeeth at thetime of joining the course and the admission confirmation shallbe subject to grant of eligibility by the Vidyapeeth.

SCHEME OF ENTRANCE TEST

The candidate shall pay the annual fees and the Vidyapeetheligibility fee at the time of admission.

The selected candidate shall be required to pay the entire amountof annual fee by D.D. in the name of The Principal,Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy, and the D. D. ofeligibility fee Registar, Dr. D. Y. Patilshall be in the name ofVidyapeeth, Pune payable at Pune. In case the candidate fails topay the entire amount of fees, he / she shall lose his / her claim foradmission to that seat. Separate D. D. for Vidyapeeth Eligibilityfees be brought, while attending the counseling and admissionsession.

NRI/PIO/FN CATEGORY – Admissions to thesecandidates will be done on the basis of inter-se-merit asdetermined by admission committee appointed for the purpose bythe competent authority. They will have to apply in the separateform available in the Vidyapeeth office and on the Vidyapeethwebsite. The candidate will be required to pay a processing fee ofUS $ 200

GENERAL CATEGORY – Admission are on the basis ofrank obtained in the All India Post Graduate PhysiotherapyEntrance Test - 2017 (AIPGPET-17).

Instructions to CandidatesCandidates are advised to:

1. To read the instructions for filling up the application formgiven in the brochure.

2. To affix photographs on the application form, Admit Card &Letter of Authorization (for Representation during selectionprocess) taken from the same negative.

3. To verify that the application form is signed by the candidate,candidate's parent/guardian and that the photograph is dulyattested by the Head of the Institution along with the officialseal, before submitting.

4. To preserve the Fee Receipt andAdmit Card safely and bringthe same to the Test hall and produce it on demand.

5. To use only for marking responsesblack ballpoint pen(answers) and for all other entries.

6. To note that issue of Admit Card is just a provision forappearing in AIPGPET-17 and does not imply that thecandidate is eligible for admission.

7. To occupy the seat in the test hall at least 30 minutes beforethe commencement of the Test, and in any case, not after11.30 am.

8. Not to bring calculators, calculating devices like Cellular(mobile) phone / pager, etc. in the test hall.

9. To enter the AIPGPET-17 Seat Number carefully on theanswer sheet.

10. Not to remove any page(s) from the Test Booklet. If anypage(s) is/are found missing from his/her Test Booklet,he/she will be proceeded against and shall be liable forcriminal action.

11. Not to leave the test hall till the completion of Test, andhanding over the Answer Sheet and Test Booklet to theinvigilator.

Rules for cancellation of anAdmission and Refund of Fees

• Admission to the course can be cancelled at the request of the student, on submission of an application, within time.

• The Student applying for cancellation of the admission on or before the last date of admission, he / she will be entitled to get refundof fees as per rules notified by the Vidyapeeth.

Hostel &Accommodation

Hostel & Mess facilities are available to all those who wish to avail the same.

Ragging

Ragging in any form is a punishable offence in accordance with the “UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in HigherEducational Institutions, 2009”, and committing this act of indiscipline shall result in punishment under the provisions of any penal lawfor the time being in force. On admission, candidates will be provided with detailed guidelines related to Ragging.

As per the recent UGC Regulations, the affidavits to be filed by the Student and their parent about the anti-ragging regulations of UGC,these affidavits need not be on stamp paper nor need to be registered. On the Contrary they should be submitted by the admitted studentsby submitting these affidavits on-line. As per UGC regulations mandatory affidavits should be submitted by all old and freshstudents and parents / guardians on the UGC website - www.antiragging.in display the step by step guide on "How to fill anonline anti ragging undertaking by the student and parent / guardian".

Dispute

Difference of opinion and any dispute arising in the interpretation and implementation, of the clauses in this brochure, if any shall bereferred to the Vice Chancellor of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune and his decision shall be final and binding on all the concerned.

Court Jurisdiction

Any legal dispute arising out of the admission procedure of the course and refund of the fees of the Vidyapeeth shall be under PuneJurisdiction only.

Warning

The candidate seeking admissions to the course of the Vidyapeeth is warned against possible cheating by unscrupulous person, who maypromise and assure seats by extracting large sums of money, from the parents / candidates. The Vidyapeeth has not appointed any suchagent (s). The Vidyapeeth shall no, in any way, be responsible for the misdeeds of such person (s).

2. The University shall not be responsible for any delay or loss of the application / admit card / or any other communication intransit. Such a delay shall not be condoned.

3. The application form along with the information brochure is available on the Vidyapeeth website.

4. Appearance at the Entrance Test and inclusion of the name in merit list does not qualify the candidate for admission unless he /she fulfills the eligibility criteria and availability of seat at the time of his/her turn for admission.
