International Scholar Summary – July 2013June 2014 UC Santa Cruz International Scholar & Student Services We currently serve 306 scholars, who mostly are in J-1 scholar status. They represent 39 different countries and add to the diversity of our staff and faculty population. The scholar population at UCSC has been consistently in the 300 range over the past few years. These scholars bring not only their expert knowledge to our campus but also increase cultural awareness and competency within our community at UCSC by exposing us to their rich cultures.
