XADO possibilitiesA simple example. Bearing unit has started knocking due to wear. What do we usually do? We buy a new bearing and replace the old one.

XADO offers another approach, revitalization, tools-free repair, and restoration of the bearing.

Old grease should be replaced by XADO grease and the revitalizant is introduced to the system. The revitalizant will immediately restore the worn parts and eliminate knocking caused by the bearing direct-ly during equipment operation. This is REPAIR.

The restored bearing (due to the formed ceramic-metal coating) will reliably serve two to four times longer. This is RESOURCE EXTENSION.

Revitalizant (from Latin vita – life, returning life) — is added to lubricating materials, operational fluids and fuel. Product forms a protective coating with low friction coefficient on metal parts of the mechanisms during their operation. The revitalizant solves the problem of resource and service life extension of machines and mechanisms.

Compound and methods of revitalizant production are patented in Austra-lia, Germany, China, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. The efficiency of the revitalizant is approved by TÜV certification tests.

This concept was introduced to the textbooks on tribology. As to its appear-ance the revitalizant comprises gel or ductile material. Substances con-tained in the revitalizant form a ceramic-metal coating on the surfaces of the parts under friction (local pressure and contact patterns temperature).

The process of the ceramic-metal coating formation can be tentatively compared with two simultaneous technologies of surface strengthen-ing. The first one is the cementation (surface saturation with carbon and metal carbides). The second is cold-work hardening by which parts of the revitalizant act as strengthening bodies. The coating possesses low friction coefficient and high antiwear characteristics. The obtained coat-ing is characterized by positive contractive stresses throughout all its depth and carbon concentration, increasing up to the surface.

Revitalization resultsRepair and restoration of units. The ceramic-metal coating is formed on the friction pairs. The parts restore their initial geometry (the biggest fixed increment on the teeth of reduction gears was up to 1.5 mm!) Restoration takes place within regular operational mode under operating loads and due to this the perfect interaction of friction pairs is achieved. As a result capacity of power systems is increased, operation precision of mechanisms is restored, noise and vibration level is reduced.Resource-saving, considerable reduction of unit wear rate. The coating, obtained as a result of revitalization, has unique properties – unusual durability (microhardness – 650-750 kg/mm²) and high corrosion resistance. These properties allow avoiding metal losses, keeping the friction surfaces in a perfect condition, increasing considerably reliability and efficiency of units and mechanisms, and extending their resource.Energy saving, energy sources conservation. Industrial gel-revitalizants – additives for compressor and transmission oils, hydraulic fluids of different types of equipment are the main XADO products for industrial ap-plication.

Range of application of gel-revitalizants is mechanisms with friction pairs metal-metal in lubricant, consistent grease or hydraulic fluid, fuel. It can practically be any industrial units or assemblies: compressors of different types, industrial reduction gears and transmissions, hydraulic systems (oil pumps of any type), rolling and slid-ing bearings of all types, open gear drives, metal cutting machine tools and equip-ment, forging hammers, presses and die blocks, smoke exhausters and blower fans, open gear and open chain drives, forming and milling roll units, template-controlled systems, electric motor and generator units, industrial internal combustion engines, fuel equipment and other equipment.

Application of gel-revitalizants does not require special training. Gel-revitalizants are sim-ply added in oil or operational fluid.

Every invested dollar has brought 5 dollars returnPJSC “Arcelor Mittal Kryvyi Rih” enterprise.Piston-type compressor 4ВМ10-120/9 is operated at compressor station from 1993.New compressor cost is $ 150,000.Complete overhaul cost is $ 25,000.The next scheduled complete overhaul was to be carried out in March 2009.This compressor was treated with XADO gel-revitalizant in October 2008.The complete cost of the full treatment made up $ 2,500 which is 10 times less than planned.

After the treatment of the compressor consumed power reduction by 7.2% ($ 6,500 savings per year) and output increase by 14% ($ 10,000 savings per year) was obtained.The necessity of a compressor scheduled overhaul has disap-peared, as its operating characteristics have restored to the nominal values (oil pressure in

lubricating system 2.1 kg/cm²; time of pumping into a receiver 12 min, instead of nominal 15 minutes).The compressor is still in operation. (September 2012) without an overhaul! Recoupment of expenses for compressor treatment with XADO gel-revitalizant only due to economy of the consumed electric power and pay back was less than two months. As a result every invested dollar has returned 5 dollars (of income) due to the compressor’s operational costs saving.

Practical applicationIn practice application of the revitalizants to the equipment (with different degree of resource depletion) provides restoration of operational characteristics to the nominal values. These are output, capacity and power consumption decrease.It is appropriate to apply revitalizants to new mechanisms as well as to equipment and units after overhaul. Break-in and bedding-in of such equipment will run faster and with less metal losses. The equipment will operate reli-ably without efficiency loss (at the level of new equipment).

Electric power (fuel) economy from XADO revitalizants in operational modes makes up (depending on the type of industrial equipment) from 3 % for reduction gears and 18 % for compressors.
