What is the Industrial Scholars Program?

The Industrial Scholars Progarm was born out of a common desire to bring employers and student candidates together. The goal is to match the strategic needs of employers with students seeking experience, employment and employer assistance with student education costs. The program is a partnership between the Industrial Technology Division and the Career Services Office at HFC.

Upon degree completion, students will be up to speed for their employer and available for mutually agreeable continuing employment. Employers have the opportunity to observe hires and students are supported in their education and on the job training.

How does the program work?We bring visibility to job postings that offer ANY type of educational assistance or an apprentice program. To get started, employers can sign onto our job board HFC Job Leads (no cost) at careers.hfcc.edu.

Employers simply post their open position. Be sure to select Job Type = Industrial Scholars/ Apprenticeships to give your posting more visibility to students. Then follow your normal hiring practice to select, interview and hire.

Employers can also search through a virtual Industrial Scholars Resume Book on the Job Leads website. If they see a resume/candidate who is a good fit, they can reach out to that student directly.
