Guidelines for Submission of CD of lndustrial

Attachment Report to DIU LibrarY

This document contains a guide on the required format for submission

of student industrial attachment report on soft copy (CD) to the DIU

library and this should be strictly followed.

lndustrial attachment report should strictly consist of the following

order:

2. Declaration

3. Letter of approval from supervisor (scanned copy of page

having signature of supervisor)

4. Acknowledgement

5. Dedication

6. Table of Contents

7. The Main body or chapters:

i. Executive summery

ii. lnformation about factory

iii. Details of attachment, iv. lmpact of internship

v. Conclusion{ Page Numbering:

the preliminary pages, must be numbered in lower case Romannumerals, e.9., i,ii,iii,....

Essential points to be followed for Industrial Attachment:-

1. You should study the related theoretical and lab course materials from your previous

semesters before starting your industrial attachment.

2. Your behavior and manner should be appropriate so that it makes a good impression in

the factory.

3. Conduct the training sincerely and regularly. Try your best so that the management is

pleased enough to offer you a position in their organization after the training.

4. Your attendance will be checked during your viva exam.

5. You have to bring the filled up attendance report and factory evaluation sheet, duly

stamped and signed by the proper authority. Business card of the evaluator should be

attached with the reports. These papers are essential to attend the viva exam.

6. You have to bring your note book during your viva exam that you used during the industrial training.

7. You have to submit a report on the factory following the given guideline at the start of

your viva exam both in hard copy and soft copy in compact disc (CD). It is urgent that

you have submitted hard copy to the viva board and soft copy to your supervisor before

the viva exam.

8. You should attach appropriate Textile samples (Yarn / Fabric / Labels etc.) in your report.

9. Hard copy of the reports must be checked and signed by your supervisor - before presenting to the viva board. (Additionally you can also submit a copy to the factory, where you have completed your industrial training.).

10. Remember - safety first. Study the safety rules of the factory at the beginning of your

training.

11. Avoid wearing loose Apparels while you are inside a factory.

12. Don’t rush and be cautious while walking specially in a machine area and slippery floor.

13. Take special attention while you are near a machine or chemical.

Report writing guideline for Industrial Attachment:

1. You have to submit the report in Times New Roman (font size: 12) 2. Headings should be in bold letters. 3. The entire report should be based on your own work. You have to declare it at the

beginning of the report. 4. There should not be any cut/ copy - paste in your report. 5. You should not add net based material in your report by cut/ copy - paste. You have to

write the report by your own language from your own observations. 6. You have to acknowledge the references from which you have collected theoretical

information for your report. 7. If relevant, you can add topics (with consent of your supervisor) not mentioned in the

report writing template. 8. Number of pages mentioned beside the chapters and headings in the template are only for

guideline. Consult your supervisor for this. 9. Remember you can not complete the report overnight. You have to start composing it

part by part after you commence the Industrial Attachment. 10. You have to print and submit the copy of the report, to your supervisor, 7 days before the

viva exam for finalizing it. 11. The cover / binding of the report should be deep green color.

Chapter 01: Project description (3 – 4 pages)

1.1 Basic Information: (Name of factory, date of establishment, owner and investors, location and address, certification, sister concerns, export growth by graph.)

1.2 General Information: (Lay-out plan of factory, Total land area, Number of buildings and floors, Total floor space, Floor space for each section, Production capacity, Actual production per day of each section, List of buyers and customers, Transport facility.)

Chapter 02: Human resource and Organization structure (4 – 5 pages)

(Organogram of the company, Total number of departments, Name of the departments and their tasks, Strength of each department, Salary and compensation, Training and development.)

3.1 Raw material (1 – 2 pages) (Type of raw material, Specification of raw material, Sources and suppliers of raw material, Source of raw material, Consumption rate, Price per unit.)

3.2 Machines and equipments (9 – 10 pages) (Type of machine, Brand name, Manufacturer, Origin, Model number and date of manufacture, Diameter and gauge of machine, Number of cam tracks, Number of feeders, Production capacity, Utilities required and Power consumption, Dimensions of the machines, Machinery lay-out plan.)

3.3 Production Department (25 – 30 pages) (Description of Knit card/ Batch card, Types of fabric produced, their structure (with fabric sample) Needle and cam set-up for production of different structures, measurement and control of stitch length and G.S.M. Production calculation for each type of machine, production planning procedure, causes of machine stoppages, Machine speed and efficiency calculation, production report.)

3.4 Quality Control/ Assurance Department (9 – 10 pages) (Inspection procedure, List of equipments, Common fabric faults and their remedies, Wastages in production department, Inspection system and rejection criteria.)

3.5 Maintenance Department (9 - 10 pages) (Maintenance policy, Maintenance schedule, Maintenance tools, Knitting machine maintenance procedure, Oiling and greasing points of a knitting machine, Cleaning of different parts and elements of a knitting machine, settings and adjustments. Functions of mechanical and electrical maintenance department.)

Chapter 04: Utility Services: (5 – 6 pages) (Name of utility, Machines and equipments, Brand and origin, Capacity of the machines, Water treatment plant, Specification of the equipments, Source of energy and their unit price, Consumption rate for per unit of production)

Chapter 05: Inventory and store (2 – 3 pages) (Inventory policy, capacity, items, inventory amount, stock report, price of different items, description of main and sub-store.)

Chapter 07: Cost analysis (4 – 5 pages) (Types of end products, List of different costs, costing of the end product, analysis of cost, charges for sub-contracts.)

Chapter 08: Waste management (4 – 5 pages) (Types of waste and their sources and causes, waste disposal system, by product and their utilization, effluent treatment plant.)

Chapter 09: Safety: (2 – 3 pages) (General safety rules, operating safety rules, chemical safety, fire-alarms and emergency exit route, first-aid box.)
