IntroductionThe Caste System is a System that puts you into a class. India’s

System has 5 layers to it. People in different classes do different jobs, which is why you will need to know where you are. I choose this topic because I wanted to learn more about India’s caste system to see how different it is from the modern day system.

About The Caste SystemThe Caste System has 5

levels. (Not counting the gods) The Brahmins are on the top. They are priests. Kshatriyas are warriors and rulers. Vaisyas are traders, farmers, and craftspeople. Sudras are servants and workers. The last one is the Untouchables. They are out of the Caste System.

Changing Positions in the Caste SystemWhen you are

born, you are put into one of the five levels. Changing positions in the Caste System rarely happens. You can never change to be an upper level but, you can lose everything and fall to an untouchable.

Legends of the Caste SystemThere have been more than 1 legend

about the Caste System. One says that the Varnas was created from

the body organs of Brahma, who is the creator of the world. Another

says that the Caste System began when the Aryans arrived in India.

The Caste System (Modern Day)The Modern Day System is very different from India’s Caste System. In the modern day system, there are 5 different levels which are VERY RICH, RICH, MIDDLE, POOR, and VERY POOR.

Changing Positions in the Modern Day System

In the Modern Day System, changing to a different level is fairly easy. You can change from a poor level into a rich level by earning more wealth. You can also drop down from a rich position down to a poor position. One advantage for the rich people is that they can afford their education to get a good job but, a poor person won’t get enough education to get a good job and earn the money.

ConclusionI learned that the Caste System is different around the world and that it is interesting to know the differences between them. I also learned that each country has their own beliefs and that they follow their rules strictly. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO ME~!
