FOREWORD

We are happy to offer another contribution to gospel singers everywhere, - a book of special songs entitled," SONGS IN THE NIGHT" Qob 35 :10).

"Songs in the Night" might be considered a text used by Job in speaking to the people of their dark night of sin, transgressions, multitudes of oppressions; the oppressed crying out in despair and ye t none saying, "Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night."

What a true picture of the world today. People are lost in the long night of sin, discontented, dissatisfied, realizing the way of the transgressor is hard , crying under the burden of sin, yet few of them turn to God who giveth Songs in the Night. No one but those who have experienced the truth of these words could know how deligh tful and refreshing they are to the soul. We pray that the songs of this book will be as comforting as the title indicates,-God giveth Songs in the Night.

This book is made up mostly of new songs which have never been in print before . The many different authors give indeed a variety of songs gospel singers will want. If you have been looking for some new songs, here they are; however, this book contains a few old songs which are favorites, like the one, "I Would Not Want to Miss It" by Mrs . Bessie Hatcher, and "Stand by Me" which has blessed many as sung by Rev. L. W. Sturk. The two are worth the price of the book.

We pray the rich blessings of the Lord on every song to every one who sings or hears them.
