Wildlife Safari will always include return PRIVATE vehicle transfer to your resort in Mauritius and the Seychelles. Arriving at your island destination after an international flight which usually entails a long flight from Australia, it is very reassuring to receive a warm wide welcome by our meet and greet in the arrivals hall. You will be personally escorted to your vehicle and your driver will transfer you directly to your resort. A private vehicle transfer eliminates long and tedious coach or shuttle bus transfers where other guests are dropped off at various hotels along the way to your resort. Our brochure pricing aims to provide an indication of the cost based on a 6 night stay during low season. Low season generally falls between the months of May to October while shoulder and high season mostly runs from November to April. Our prices are based on 2 persons sharing in the room category stated, breakfast (or all meals if the featured resort is an All Inclusive property) and return transfers (resort boat, seaplane or domestic flight).

GETTING TO YOUR ISLAND RESORT

The style in which you travel to your resort will depend on the location of your island resort. Island resorts located in the inner atolls are accessed by a resort boat transfer from Velana International Airport, outer atolls are reached by a scenic seaplane flight while the far outer atolls are reached by domestic flight followed by a resort boat transfer.

All international flights land on Hulhule Island just a short dhoni ride to Male, the capital of the Republic of Maldives. On arrival at Velana International Airport you will be met by our resort representative who will confirm details of your resort transfer and personally assist you with your transfer.

Resort Boat

Resort boat transfers depart from the main jetty on Hulhule Island. No matter what time of day or night your flight lands you can immediately transfer to your island resort.

On arrival at Velana International Airport you will be met by our resort representative and escorted to the jetty for your transfer.

Seaplane Flight

A scenic seaplane flight to a resort located in the outer atolls can only be taken during daylight hours. If your international flight arrives late at night you will need to spend your first night at a hotel on Male, or at a nearby resort and take the seaplane flight on the following day.

On arrival at Velana International Airport you will be met by our resort representative who will assist you to the lounge at the seaplane terminal Island to wait for your flight to your resort.

Domestic Flight

Several local islands have a domestic airport which provide the type of transfer to island resorts in the far outer atolls. On arrival at Velana International Airport our resort representative will personally escort you to the domestic terminal. Waiting time for your domestic flight is always kept to a minimum.

On landing at the local island domestic airport our resort representative will meet and escort you to the jetty for your resort boat transfer and the final stage of your journey.

Reunion.

Reunion, the southernmost department of France, is one of the world’s last remaining colonial possessions and sits east of Madagascar with Mauritius and the Seychelles as its nearest neighbours. Reunion is enchanting with mountains dominating the island and rainforests along the coast.

The island was once a vast volcano which collapsed to leave an immense and jagged interior with three cirques (valleys). Mafate and Salazie are virtually inaccessible and can only be reached by hikers or by scenic helicopter. While the third cirque, Cilaos with its quaint town is accessable by road.

Reunion has the reputation as a nature destination, however the island does offer a selection of beach resorts. Reunion combines perfectly with Mauritius, Madagascar or the Seychelles for the ideal Indian Ocean island holiday.

Madagascar, with an extraordinarily diverse terrain, is like nowhere else on earth. Madagascar offers a wealth of fascinating places to visit from the tranquility of the forests, bustling cities, unspoilt beaches, an underwater world of dazzling corals and marine life and truly exotic flora and wildlife.

Historically the island was a land of conquest, shipwrecks, massacres, piracy and slavery. It is recorded the Arabs settled as early as the 9th century, the Portuguese arrived in 1500, followed by a succession of Merion Monarchs and in 1896 became a French colony before gaining independence in 1960.

Unlike its nearest Indian Ocean neighbours, Madagascar has been relatively isolated and remains one of the world’s great eco tourism destinations. Other than a few major roads, the island’s infrastructure and facilities are limited and travel is best in 4WD vehicle, light aircraft or domestic flight. As a developing country Madagascar is at times challenging and facilities may be lacking however this only adds to its charm.

The 115 islands of the Seychelles archipelago are split into granitic islands clustered around the trio of islands, Mahe, Praslin and La Digue with their neighbouring islands are the most visited as they offer the largest range of accommodation. Outer islands beyond the Seychelles plateau are the flat coraline islands extending west towards Africa with many just tiny coral specks. With almost half of the Seychelles set aside as marine national parks a large part of its charm is that no two islands are the same and few places are more isolated.

Mahe, home to Victoria the tiny capital and the international airport, is the biggest island with lush rainforests, high mountains, breathtaking beaches and hidden coves. Slower paced Praslin, where the intriguing Coco De Mer palm grows in the Vallee de Mai nature reserve has some of the most beautiful beaches and some the finest resorts, while the enchanting island of La Digue is renowned for its iconic blush pink granite boulders on the breathtakingly white sand beaches of Grand Anse, Anse Coco and the famous Anse Source D’Argent.

Terms & Conditions

RESERVATIONS

Wildlife Safari requires a deposit of 20% of the total tour cost to confirm your travel arrangements with balance of payment due sixty days prior to your departure date. Some suppliers may require additional deposits and this will be advised at time of reservation. Reservations will be cancelled if final payment is not received by the due date with full loss of deposit. Changes to existing reservations will incur a $50.00 administrative fee and any changes made within sixty days of the departure date will be charged at the cancellation penalties outlined below. All airline tickets and tour documents will be sent about two weeks prior to your departure date unless requested in writing for early delivery.

CANCELLATIONS

All cancellations must be received in writing by Wildlife Safari and all cancellations will be charged a cancellation penalty based on the number of days prior to departure date:

Cancellations more than 60 days prior – no refund of deposit

Cancellations 60 days and less prior – no refund of land cost

Some tour arrangements may incur additional cancellation penalties. There is no refund for any unused portions of your arrangements once travel has commenced. Cancellation penalties on airfares are additional and are excluded from the above cancellation charges. Cancellation insurance is suggested and may be purchased from Wildlife Safari or your travel agent.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All airfares, surcharges & ticketed taxes are current at quotation date and may change without notice prior to ticketing. Wildlife Safari is not responsible for changes in airline schedules, airfares, surcharges, ticketed taxes, cancellations, frequent flyer program(s) conditions, damage or loss of any baggage and/or flight overbooking. All claims for any loss or injury suffered on any airline must be made directly with the airline involved.

The accommodations confirmed may not always be available and may be substituted for comparable accommodations. Single rooms may not be available at times due to the very limited capacity of hotels, resorts, lodges and camps.

All claims and complaints must be sent in writing to Wildlife Safari (Australia) Pty Ltd by the passenger within 28 days of the event or incident resulting in the claim.

All costs are based on known costs and rates of exchange at quotation date and significant changes beyond the control of Wildlife Safari will be passed on. Costs include expenses incurred by Wildlife Safari including brochure printing and distribution, advertising, sales and marketing, promotions, free call reservation service as well as commissions and other incentives to your licensed travel agent who is responsible for handling your travel arrangements and will assist with obtaining required visas and other travel documents.

Wildlife Safari reserves the right to alter any travel arrangements due to local conditions beyond our control. Wildlife Safari retains the right to refuse any person from joining or continuing any travel arrangements for any reason or if the person causes or is deemed to cause any hazard, damage or inconvenience to him/her, third parties, staff, flora, fauna or property.

The sole and exclusive responsibility and liability of any participating airline shall be in accordance with and as limited by the contract of carriage in the passenger’s ticket, the applicable tariffs and the provisions of the Warsaw Convention. The airlines are not responsible or liable for any act, omission or occurrence during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft. Independent contractors that do not act on behalf of the airlines and who do not have a direct business association or relationship provide the tour services other than air transportation provided by the airlines.
