The ranks of the Indian Navy is divided into two major parts. They are

Commissioned Officers1.Junior Commissioned Officers.2.

These are the ranks of the Commissioned Officers in Indian Navy in descending order based on theirpower.

brnch n m nt able to decide for which post to apply for? m passionate about navy and airforce butwanna go for ground duty branches as for other post there would be physical exertion. Im 155.5cmand weigh 69 kg right now i know i wud hav to loose 18kg.. sir but plz tell me dat even for thelogistic field is weight to height ratio a mandatory thing to worry on

Ankita Tomar, you must understand that every one in the army is a soldier. same in the navyand airforce. Maintaining a good physical standard is a part and parcel of our life here. So tosome extent there will be physical fitness required

Good Evening Sir,I got recommended for Indian Navy as a Technical Officer having SSC. My joining is in July thisyear. I have some queries.1. What are the chances of getting PC ? If not, then what opportunities Navy provide after SSC ?2. For what duration, do we remain on ship at a stretch, after commissioning?2. Being a vegetarian, will it be easy to follow my food habits while on ship ?

Dear Bhavesh, congratulations on being recommended!!!!1. There are ample chances for getting Permanent commission, but that is subject to yourperformance!!! Navy also provides a lot of opportunities to build yourself for a career postretirement. Special reserved seats for serving Officers of Navy in M.Tech from IITMumbai,Chennai,Delhi,IIS Bangalore and MBA from all IIMs are available before retirementprovided you do well in service and clear the internal exams and interview!!!

2. Are you speaking about an appointment or sailing at sea?!????? Sailing worst case scenarioyou may sail for 3 months out of your base port if you go for some foreign deployment(which is actually fun)!! One tenure on a ship is followed by 2 to 3 tenures in the dockyard/trial unit/ repair yard/ DRDO/ teaching billets etc.!!!

3. Bhavesh dont worry. You will find that more than half the people onboard ships arevegetarians. It is a different issue that all vegetarians keep cribbing and crying about thepartiality meted out to them in fauj as they donot get something equivalent to chicken,prawnsand lobsters etc hahahaaaa. Just kidding. You can very well follow your dietry preference.

Thank u sir for ur guidance. You are enlightning many young military enthusiast like me.I havecleared ssb for army also. But I hope to join Navy and waiting for merit. Sir, actually I want to ask isbeing a tech officer how much long one spends on a ship, say in a month.

seeing the advertisement for PC Navy logistics, people who have done BBA or BBM are eligible toapply, since there is no BBA or BBM in Mumbai uni. I was wondering if I would be eligible to applycoz BBA , BBM, BMS have the same syllabus. There subject modules are same.Thanks

It is Leading Seaman Underwater Control 2 which is a part of the anti submarine warfarebranch…… It is the rank of a sailor

This is very interesting and encouraging. My 7 year old son dreams of becoming a Navy officer forIndia. I never told him about Navy or Army etc. He just picked this up and for the past 2 yrs histarget has not changed. Every passing day I can see his determination and discipline improving as Isaid if you want to be in Navy, you need to be disciplined, have proper food and living habits!!! Iwish his dream comes true one day!!! I am waiting for that day…

What kind of previlege are you talking about. There is no special discount for airman.Actually speaking the competition out there to become an officer among the airmen is higherthan the normal stream.

respected sir,a very happy new year to you…its my fortunate that i get a call on 28th january for ues-final year btech entry…being an “electronics and instrumentation” engineer i am in doubt what questions could be askedand what should i prepare..??

secondly i have been to two ssb’s before (both in indian army)-i was screened out both times..amstill in doubt with which frame of mind should i face the navy…??

lastly situations are arosing when the date i.e ssb date and companies recruitment date is on samedate (28th of this month)..

in the call up letter they have mentioned its a one time call..so is there any possibility that i can shiftmy ssb dates??

Respected sir,My name is manohar from bangalore,completed my B.E degree in the stream of electronics andcommunication.I am very keen on joining the indian armed forces especially navy,my age is 22 rightnow height is 183 cms i hav perfect eye vision good health condition without any kind of healthissues…but i am only 54kgs.will this lead to rejection during medicals ? am i under weight as percorrelation table?….please give me ur suggestion..hoping u d best.

Hello… Gud Evening Sir,I am a son of Ex- Servicemen. My dad had retired as a Leading Steward from the Indian Navy. I ama Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering and my age is 21 . I am also very much passionate anddesirous about the Navy and want to join it . Could you suggest me the type of entry and when arethe exams going to commence ?? Also kindly tell me if there is any scope of getting promoted toofficer rank while have joined and serving as a sailor because right now i am not a graduate andwon’t be getting an officer rank. Also tell me if the Navy allows to pursue further education(degree) for getting an Officer rank ??

Sir i got selected in the ssr recruitment..i got my call letter and about to undergo training next month..my doubts are is it possible to choose trade by ourself or theyll choose the trade for us ? And whatis the overall salary that ill be getting at training and after training ? Seeking your reply as soon aspossible

Hello sir,I have defect in my right eye & normal eye in the left eye…so my doctor gave me a contact lens ofpower (-7.5D) & then he told me to wear glasses of power (0D) in the right eye eye & (-1D) in theleft eye…I have been wearing both contact lens & glasses for the last 17 years starting at the age of4…so with these defects can I still join navy?

Respected Sir,I secured 59% in class twelve and also in high school 47% and degree is going on around 60% butin childhood i can’t hold their hand but at young stage it properly diagnosed by surgery so we urgedyou provide me proper details about it and we are able for applicant or not we wait your positiveresponse
