INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY KOLKATA CAMPUS
The Indian Maritime University has been established as a Central University by
the Government of India under an Act of Parliament, namely, the Indian Maritime
University Act, 2008. The Act was brought into force on 14th November 2008.
The campus under the IMU-KC is spread over 33 acres of land at P-19, Taratala
Road, Kolkata – 700088 and houses the premier institute in Marine Engineering in the
country. There are presently about 1000 residential cadets undergoing B.Tech in
Marine Engineering in the campus. This campus contains well-equipped laboratories,
workshop, simulators, computer centre and a well-stocked library with more than
16,000 books, technical journals and research materials besides a 1000 seater
auditorium.
The Campus is also imparting Management Development Programmes in
different domains for all levels of executives of various organizations.
The campus has been offering MBA in International Transportation and
Logistics Management in Kolkata from 2013-14 to meet the demand of qualified and
well-trained personnel in the maritime and logistics sector.
IMU-Kolkata Campus has specially designed and conducted a number of 2/3
weeks’ Management Development Programmes in the recent past for Andaman
Lakshadweep Harbour Works and Kolkata Port Trust. The campus has been selected
for conducting such courses made mandatory by the Ministry of Shipping and the
Andaman & Nicobar Administration for promotion of their personnel to the executive
cadre.

the Guest House subject to availability.
Board and lodging charges will be as per prevailing rules of the Guest House and will be
directly realized from boarders by the Guest House In-Charge as per laid down norms.
Transport Arrangements : IMU-KC cars pick up participants from the Guest House to the
IMU-KC, (Training Venue) free of charges during the programme.
