What to do and where to go?

You can visit the India Gate, which was inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. You can also visit the Temple of Lotus, one of the largest houses of worship of Faith Bahá. You still have the option to visit Taj Mahal, which is known for being huge and beautilful; or to visit the baazars, which are full of colors and handmade wealth.

When to go?

The ideal time to go to Nova Delhi is after the monsoon. October and November are probably the best months to visit India.

How to travel ?

You can travel by plane, by train, by bus for short distances and others means. In the picture you can see a Tuc Tuc, the traditional mean of travelling inside the cities of India.

What to eat? The Indian cuisine is very hot and spicy; spices seduce through colors ,

textures and aromas . In Delhi there are plenty of restaurants in the local cuisine , the most economical and typical food kiosks on the streets to highly sophisticated .

The tandoori ( roasted ) dominate the menu and are always accompanied by chapatis , a thin bread made of wheat flour . Among the delicacies , be sure to taste the vodka gol gappa ( crispy pastries stuffed with a spicy dose of vodka ) , the roast lamb in the oven and fish tikka .

The diverse Indian cuisine includes vegetarian delicacies like paneer kofta , goat cheese dumplings with sauce and spices . At breakfast , the tradition are the curds ( a kind of yogurt ) and in the afternoon , do not forget the chai (tea ) . The masala is served at all sites .

You can also find pizza, pasta and burgers . The global fastfood brand presence with stores like McDonald's , Pizza Hut , Subway and Fridays , among other networks . However , be aware that eating beef is a sin in India because the cow is considered a sacred animal , which is why McDonald's , for example , only sells burgers lamb .

Extra cultural information

India is an extremely religious and all over the country there are images of the gods of Hinduism, the main religion of the country. Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu are the most important, not forgetting Krishna and Ganesha. Every day, in the evening, you can hear the intonation of various religious prayers in the streets and in the temples.

Knowing a litte more of the vocabulary

It is important to know a bit of Hindi vocabulary to assist in interaction with people. So get to know:

Namastê: is a respectful way to greet or to start a conversation. The Indians have a lot of curiosity about foreigners (do not be surprised if someone asks you to take a photo with him).

Ram ram: or good luck is a more informal but friendly way of greeting.

Shukriáh or deniwad: both mean thank you.
