India 2013 Prayer Guide!!Thank-you for praying for our team during our trip to India!!!!This guide will help you to pray specifically for us each day.!!!You’ll notice that for most items we list both the Indiana time and the India time. !Hyderabad is 10 1/2 hours ahead of Indiana. !!!Each day’s prayer request is listed for you to be praying ahead of our activity in India.!!!!In addition to the items listed, please pray for each of the following daily:!• Encouragement and protection of the families of those staying behind in Indiana.!• Pray for Greg’s wife Jess and their three kids, Ashley, Garret, and Andrew.!• Pray for Dan’s wife Tonya and their three children, Aiden, Will, and Drew.!• Pray for God’s protection from the Enemy as we travel and do ministry in India.!• Pray for God’s protection of our church here at home while we’re gone.!• Pray that God might use this trip to spark a passionate heart for missions in our church.!!!!!

Monday, November 11 – Travel!The team leaves for the airport around 2:00 PM today. Their flight will leave O’Hare at 9:30 PM Eastern time. The first leg of the flight is 7 hours, 35 minutes to London. The team has a 3 hour, 25 minute layover before leaving at 1:35 PM London time to Hyderabad. That flight will last 9 hours, 30 minutes.!!In Chicago the team will be meeting 8 others from Summit EFC of Alta, Iowa and 1 from CrossRidge EFC of Holstein, Iowa after their flight from Des Moines. They will then fly together from Chicago to Hyderabad.!!Pray for safe travel, luggage to arrive, and for the teams from the different churches to gel together. !!

We’re hoping to video call into Heart & Soul from India! – Pray for a good internet connection, and that this might have an impact on kids at Heart & Soul and their heart for Jesus’ Kingdom around the world. Maybe it would even be used by the Spirit to plan a heart for ministry and missions work in some of their young hearts!

Worship & Preaching – Pray for Pastor Josh as he preaches from Ephesians 3:20-21 this morning. Pray that God would enable the translators to understand the teaching and translate it rightly into the language of the men in India. — India has over 17 state-recognized languages (and hundreds of other dialects). Each time the men preach, their message will be translate twice, once into Hindi and one into Telugu. This makes for an interesting dynamic when preaching! Pray for Josh and the others as they teach that the Holy Spirit would help them keep their train of thought as they wait on translation, and that Jesus might be glorified, and the Indian pastors might be taught and encouraged!

Cultural Program – Each day at the conference, a group of Christians from the orphanages and/or one of the Indian churches will be doing a cultural program for all of the men. When Josh visited in 2005 this included skits and dancing by some of the boys and girls from the orphanages. It was entertaining (even without understanding what was being said!)!

Children’s Program with 300+ orphans – Summit EFC supports two orphanages in India, one housing 150 boys and another housing 150 girls. We will be assisting Summit with a program including games, teaching, singing and more with the children. – Pray for God’s grace as we help lead 300 kids that don’t speak English! :) Pray, too, for God’s protection and grace in each of their young lives, that he might use them to do many great things in their lives for the Kingdom of God. Thank Jesus for our opportunity to be a small part of their lives.

Today is a travel day to Bangalore, which is about 300 miles south of Hyderabad. We will have about a 1 hour flight to Bangalore. Just the four of us from Wawasee Bible will be making this in-country trip to visit the orphanage we support. (The team from Iowa will remain in Hyderabad to do some other ministry there.) From Bangalore we will travel another 3 hours by car to our hotel there. – Pray for God’s grace and safety as we travel via domestic air in India. We have no clue what to expect! :) Also pray for safety as we travel from Bangalore to the orphanage. Joab has made these arrangements for us, but we do not have much detail on what it will look like. Pray for patience with the unknown, too! :)

Today we will be spending the day at the orphanage in Karnataka! (Karnataka is a province of India, like Indiana is a state in the U.S.) !!Our plans include games with the boys,!Getting updated photos and info on each boy,!Some singing with the boys!Craft time!Teaching time and puppets with the boys!!We will also be getting photos and video of the orphanage to bring back and share with everyone at Wawasee Bible. – Pray that the technology cooperates so that we can capture and bring back a good report, and encourage those at Wawasee Bible with the work taking place in India!!!

We’ll be having a special dinner with the boys and the four house parents who live and serve full time caring for the boys. During this time we will also give then Christmas gifts which include a new change of clothes for each of them, some soccer balls we’re bringing with us, and candy (including giant jelly beans from the Wakarusa Dime Store)! We’ll take time to pray for the boys this evening as well, before we depart, and they will likely put on a program for us while we’re there. Dinner and a show! :) – Pray for our time with the children that the Holy Spirit might use it to encourage their young hearts. Pray that God might grow them into strong men of courage and valor for his Kingdom. Pray for the house parents that God might bless and encourage them during this time as well. Pray for a special day today, both in the hearts of the boys and in our own. Pray that we can capture this day well, and bring it back to share with the church.
