Our liability shall not exceed the replacement cost of our product.LIMITED WARRANTY Baird Brothers Sawmill, Inc. products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a limited period of 30 days from the date of shipment. If products are found to be defective by manufac-turer, they will be exchanged or credited to the customer’s account at his/her option. No merchandise shall be returned without approval of Baird Brothers Sawmill, Inc. RETURN POLICY1. Shipping charges are NOT refundable. The customer is responsible for shipping costs when receiving

and returning the item(s). When returning items for credit, we recommend using a service such as FedEx or UPS so that the package(s) are traceable.

- Some terminals have other delivery services available, such as lift gate service, for an additional cost. These services vary from terminal to terminal, so remember to ask the trucking company when they call to make delivery arrangements. You are responsible for these additional costs.

- SHIPPING DAMAGE: We have great service from the trucking companies we deal with, however, some-times shipping damage can occur. It is extremely important to inspect and note any damage that might be suspect on the Bill of Lading (BOL) when signing for the shipment. Damage to the packaging container or material if it has become exposed should be noted on the form the driver gives you to sign accepting delivery. These notations will allow us to make a claim for shipping damage on your behalf. RESIDENTIAL PREFINISHED PRODUCTLIMITED WARRANTY

A. WARRANTY AGAINST MANUFACTURING/GRADE DEFECTS WewarranttotheoriginalpurchaserofourPrefinishedHardwoodFloorspurchasedafterSeptember1,2006againstanydefects caused during manufacturing. This warranty includes manufacturing defects caused during milling, grading, staining and finishcoating.Ourflooringismanufacturedinaccordancewithacceptedindustrystandards,whichpermitagrade/manufacturingdefect tolerance not to exceed 5%. It is the responsibility of the installer/homeowner to inspect each plank prior to installation to identify manufacturing or grade defects. Once a board has been installed, it is deemed to have been accepted, and all claims based on manufacturing or grade defects are waived. Shouldanindividualboardbeinquestionastograde,manufactureorfinish,andiftheinstallerisnotabletorelocateit unseen or cut off the defective portion, the installer should not use that board. If he/she does, our liability is limited to replacement of defective material only in excess of 5% (excluding the cutting allowance). Natural wood characteristics, such as knots, cracks, color variation, etc. are considered normal grade characteristics and are not considered defects. Minor variations in plank thickness do occur and are normal between planks, and are not considered defects.

B. WARRANTY AGAINST FINISH WEAR-THROUGH WewarranttotheoriginalpurchaserofourPrefinishedHardwoodFloorsthatthesurfacefinishUVcoatedurethanewillnotwearthroughforafull25yearsfromthedateofpurchase,whenusedundernormalresidentialtrafficconditionsanduse,andaslong as you follow all the preventative and regular maintenance instructions provided with your product. Thiswarrantydoesnotcoverindentations,scratchesandnaturallyoccurringwoodfiberdiscoloration.Thiswarrantydoesnotcover damages caused by spills, accidents, negligence, misuse, abuse, water, sand or other extreme environmental conditions. Glossreductionorlossofsheenarenotconsideredwearthroughandarenotcoveredundertheprefinishedproductwarranty.Discoloration due to exposure to sunlight or other environmental conditions is not considered wear through, and is not covered by our warranty. Thiswarrantydoesnotcoveranydamagethatresultsfromtheaccidentalorintentionalpenetrationofthefinish.Nordoesthewarranty cover damage caused by shoes in need of repair, sports equipment, furniture, cleaning equipment, sudden impact by hard objects, pet claws, use of abrasive cleaners, or abrasion by any object such as sand or pebbles. Scratches that appear after installationareconsideredtobenormalwear.Sandingor“screening”thefinishwillvoidthiswarranty. Thiswarrantydoesnotcoverdamagecausedbymoisturepenetration,flooding,leakyplumbing,overflowedtubsorsinks,washing machines, dishwashers, or any similar damage. Caring for your Prefinished Hardwood Floor.Abrasiveproducts,naturalormanmade,willdamageyourfloor.Drymopyourfloorregularlytoremoveloosedirtorbeforeitcanscratchyourfloor.Wipeupspillsasquicklyaspossible.Neverwetmopyourhardwoodfloor.Usenon-abrasivecleanersthatdonotcontainoils,waxesorphosphates.Yourhardwooddealerorinstallercansuggestproductsavailableinyourlocalarea.Protectivepadsshouldbeusedbetweenthebottomoffurnitureandthefloor.Entrymatsatdoorwaysshouldbeusedtocatchdirtbeforebeingtrackedonthefloor.

Radiant Heat Systems. Installation over radiant heat will void this warranty.

C. GENERAL INFORMATION ThelimitedwarrantiesdescribedaboveapplyonlytoourPrefinishedHardwoodFloorproductsandaregiventotheoriginalresidential purchaser only. These warranties do not extend to commercial purchasers or commercial uses. These warranties are not transferable.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE: The product must be transported and stored in a dry environment. No exposure to moisture of any type should be permitted. Do not store on concrete surfaces.INSTALLATION:Thiswarrantyisvoidifasub-floorotherthan5/8"thickorgreaterperformanceratedplywood,or3/4"thickorgreaterperformanceratedOSBisused.NOFMAapprovedstaplesornailsmustbeusedandplacednotmorethan5"oncenter. Prior to installation, the owner/installer must determine that the job site and all sub-surfaces meet all requirements specifiedintheinstallationinstructions.YourinstallershouldfollowtheinstallationguidelinessetforthbyN.O.F.M.A.andthe N.W.F.A. These are industry standards and are available by calling 1-800-422-4556. These standards include, but are notlimitedto:moisturecontentmustbetestedonboththeproductandsubfloorpriortoinstallation.Theuseoftouch-uppenorfillerstickforcorrectionduringinstallationshouldbeacceptedasnormalprocedure.WhenourPrefinishedHardwood

INFESTATION: This warranty does not cover damage due to insect infestation after the product has left the factory.

D. CLAIM PROCEDURE Tofileaclaim,theoriginalresidentialpurchasershouldfirstcontactBairdBrothersSawmill,Inc.(“Manufacturer”). Claimsmustbefiledwithinthewarrantycoverageperiod,andyourpurchasereceipt,verifyingdateofpurchase,and purchasepricewillberequired.Wereservetherighttohaveourdesignatedrepresentativeinspectthefloorsandremovesamples for technical analysis. EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES:IfanyportionofourPrefinishedHardwoodFloorsshouldfailwithrespecttothewarrantyofmanufacturing/gradedefectwewillreplacethedefectiveboardsatoursolecostandexpense.IfanyportionofourPrefinishedHardwood Floors should fail with respect to the warranty of wear-through, we will, at our sole option, within a reasonable time ofreceiptofactualnoticeandverificationofyourclaim,repair,replaceorrefinishthatonlyportionofthefloorwhichhasfailedto perform consistently within the terms of this limited warranty, with the same product or another product of equal value, or will refundthepurchasepriceoftheaffectedportionofprefinishedproduct. INTERIOR DOOR WARRANTY 1. One year limited warranty on manufacturing defects. 2. Baird Brothers Sawmill, Inc. responsibility under this warranty is limited to repairing or at our option

replacing any product found to be defective due to manufacturing or material defects. 3. Baird Brothers Sawmill, Inc. liability shall not exceed the replacement cost of our product.

WE WILL NOT PAY FOR LABOR OR FINISHING CHARGES TO REPLACE ANY PRODUCT THAT IS DEFECTIVE.

4. Natural variations in the wood color or grain pattern are not considered defects. 5. Doors must be sealed all “SIX” sides or any warranty claims will be voided. 6. Alteration of the Door in any way (Cutting the top or sides down) Voids any warranty. 7. Door slabs should be stored flat and sealed as soon as possible. 8. Panel shrinkage is normal and is not a defect. 9. Baird Brothers doors are INTERIOR and should NOT be use in any exterior application.10. Warpage problems usually are due to the conditions in the home and a heating and cooling season

will eliminate them. If high humidity is present you will need to run a dehumidifier.11. Warpage of 1/4" or less across any plane is an industry standard and is not considered a defect.12. We reserve the right to change prices and make design modifications without notice.

IMPORTANT NOTICES - PRE-HUNG DOUBLE DOORS THAT ARE SHIPPED BY COMMON CARRIER FREIGHT TRUCK

ARE KNOCKED-DOWN - Any door that is reduced in height or width or reduced in height or width in the field voids all

manufacturers’ warranties regardless of how the finish is applied and cannot be returned for credit.

CARE AND FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS FORINTERIOR DOORS & PRE-HUNG UNITS

1. Doors must be transported in a clean vehicle and under cover in wet weather. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL VOID THE MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY AND THE DOOR CANNOT BE RETURNED FOR CREDIT.

2. Deliver door(s) to building site after plaster or cement is dry. 3. Handle all doors with clean gloves and equipment. 4. Avoid dragging doors across one another or across other surfaces. 5. Store flat on a level surface in a dry, well-ventilated area; avoid stacking on end. (Door slabs only.) 6. Cover doors to keep clean; allow air circulation. 7. Avoid subjecting doors to abnormal heat, extreme dryness, humid conditions or sudden changes

in climate. They should be conditioned to average prevailing relative humidity of the locality prior to hanging.

8. If doors are to be stored on the job site for more than a week; the entire door including the top and bottom edges, must be sealed.

9. Pre-hung doors should be stored standing up, but raised off any concrete floor, cover and seal... same as above.

10. Surface should be clean and dry. All doors are mill-finished and require finish sanding at job site. 11. Clean doors thoroughly after sanding to remove all dust or foreign material. (Small amounts of

grease or oil can be wiped clean with mineral spirits.) 12. Make sure all surfaces are sealed and finished, including the top, bottom and side edges of stiles

and rails. Incomplete finishing will increase the probability of warpage or twisting.

Each specie has unique characteristics, the two most deter-mining of which are hardness and visual appeal or color. The following chart will give you a hardness measurement. The Janka (or side) hardness test, measures the force (pounds/square inch) required to embed a .444 inch steel ball to half its diameter in the wood. These figures are a good indicator of how resistant the wood is to denting and wear.
