• In this festival people dress up as pirates.• It is a parade about the invasion of Florida by Gasparilla,

when he receives the key of the city.

Jose Gaspar was born in Sevilla, in 1756.

He kidnapped a girl, and had to choose as a punish between:

One day, Gaspar took the Floridablanca, a ship, and fled to Florida.

THE STORYJosé Gaspar, saw an English ship and order his hunt, but the English ship, attacked the Floridablanca, the ship lost the battle
