Activated carbon filters are usedmainly forchlorine removal but alsoused for removalof dissolved gases and organic compoundsthatgiveundesirablecolour, tasteand smelltowater.Activatedcarbonscanbemadefromcoal ,coconutandwoodbut theyhaveverywide surface area (1000-1500 cubicmeterIgr). Productivityofactivatedcarbon filter isdetermined by features of activated carbonused in filter, raw water quality and correctselectionoffiltrationvelocity.

ActivatedCarbonFilters canbe regenaratedat site but generally only daily backwashingwillbedoneduetoeconomicreasons.Althoughactivatedcarbonfiltresareusedforremovingorganicmaterials,theyarealsoanexcellentplaceforgrowingofbacteriafoundon inlet water. Therefore microbiologicallyunsafewatersshouldn’tbefilteredbyactivatedcarbon. If this is the case, than suitabledisinfectionmethod should be selected as apre-treatmentstep.

Multi Media Filters are generally used for purpose of removing suspended solids, turbidity and other impurities like iron-manganese.

Standart control valves don’t have enoughcapacity to handle high capacities more than20m3- hour, therefore surfacepipingmethodwill be used for multimedia filter systems andactivatedcarbonsystems.

Water softening process is a typicalion exchange method. Ion exchange isaccomplished by passing water havingsuitablevelocitythroughtheresinbedandNa+ inside the resinwill be exchangedwithCa2+andMg2+intheinletwaterthatcausehardness.Aftercertainamountof time or quantity of water passedthrough resinmedia, resin particlesarecompletely covered with hardnessminerals.

AQUALINEReverseOsmosisSystemscanbedividedintotwogroups,brackishandseawatersystems.Theyarealsodividedinto groups according to application areas like domestic,commercialandindustrial.

Additionally, UF systems are used successfully for food andbeverageprocess,bottlingwaterprocess,disinfectionofwaterindirectlyandlotsofspecialprojects.Nowadays,itwillbetheonlyfiltrationsystemforwastewaterrecyclingsystemsthatwillprotectthedownstreamequipments

Disinfection with Ultraviolet Systems will be done by making microorganisms inactive without adding any chemical or oxidant to water.

ThisultravioletlightsbreakstheDNAstructureofmicroorganismsandmakestheminactive.By thisway,%99,9averageratioofdisinfection isachieved.Tobeabletokillmicroorganismswith this system,Ultraviolet lightmustdirectly contactwiththemwithinaspecifictime.Forthisreason,beforewaterenterstoultravioletsystem,parameterssuchassediment, turbidityshouldberemovedfromwater.Sandfilteror cartridge filters ormechanical filtration systemsare recommended tobeusedbefore ultraviolet. To obtain good productivity from ultraviolet units, periodicalmaintenance is important.Changing theUV lambonceayearandQuartzglasscleaningdependingonrawwaterqualityshouldbemadeperiodically.

PackageThe operation principle of Aqualine wastewater treatmentsystems is “sequencing batch reactor (SBR)’’ system which isthe most suitable technology for treatment of domestic wastewater.ThemainadvantageofSBRsystemisthataerationandsedimentationwilltakeplaceinthesametank.

The wastewater collected within the equalization tank isseparatedfromthesolidcontaminantsbymeansofabaskettypefine-meshed screen located at the inlet section of the system.Withinthesequencingbatchreactor,theorganiccontaminantsinthewastewaterareconvertedtoC02andwaterbythehelpofaerobicbacteria.

Thetreatedwaterisdischargedthroughtheuseofsubmersiblepumpandduringthedischargethetreatedwaterisdisinfectedbydosingsodiumhypochloritewiththedosagepump.

Wastewater nowadays is divided into two categories; blackwaterandgreywater.Duetolownutrientslevel,thegreywatertreatment will be less costly to treat and also no need tosupplementary disinfection after treatment. Greywater isgeneratedfromwashhandbasins,showersandbaths,whichcanberecycledon-siteforusessuchasWCflushingandalsocanbeusedforwatergardeningandcarwashing.GreylineGreywatertreatmentplanttechnologyisbasedonAqualinePTFEMBRsystems.

They are generally ready-to-use systems but tailor-madedesigncanalsobedoneforend-usersorsystemsuppliers.

MBRsaresuspendedgrowthsystemsthatrelyuponmembranefiltrationforliquids/solidseparationpriortodischargeofthetreated effluent. Thanks to MBR, it can be overcome highenergyconsumptionwithoutcompromising inwaterquality.Membranes can be used to remove: pathogens, colloids,fine particles, dissolved organic components, organicmicropollutants. SURFACE WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM WITH LAMELLA CLARIFIER

Based on physical and chemical treatment Aqualinesurface water treatment system has Two standard systemshaving capacity of 50 m3/h and 100 m3/h; For highercapacities, custom designs can be made with using multi-systems or different lamella modules. Corrosion - resistantand completely submerged PVC plates are installed at55 degree for optimal solids settling. Sel - cleaning platesand no moving parts means low maintenance costs.Space-saving footprint allows for efficient use of land.

1.PRE-CHLORINATIONThe pre-treatment of raw water with chlorine previously tosedimentation or filtration is a very necessary operation, inordertoobtainaqualityforthetreated,accordingtotheWHOstandards.2.COAGULATION-FLOCCULATIONThe aim of flocculation-coagulation process is to removetheverythinparticles,calledcolloidsthatareveryimportantwaterconstituents.Theycauseturbulenceandalotoftimesformstablecolloidalsuspensions.3.LAMELLACLARIFICATIONTheclarificationoftherawwaterafterchemical treatmentis usually carried out by gravity sedimentation. In order toreducetherequiredsedimentationsurface,itisverycommonto use lamellar sedimentation. Effectively, in contrast to

conventional sedimentation, lamella sedimentation offers ahighsedimentationsurfacewhenavailableterrainsurfaceis reduced. After sedimentation, the treated water passestoastorage tank (regulation tank), fromwhich thewater ispumpedusinghorizontalcentrifugalpumpstopressuresandfilters.
