India's Independence Day on August 15th commemorates the end of British rule in 1947.
The day is a national holiday in India and celebrated all over the country.
This is also the day when India and Pakistan were divided into two separate countries.
On August 15th, you’ll find tricolor flags and buntings everywhere.
…while buildings of national importance are illuminated.
